וַיְהִ֡י לְעֵת֩ תְּשׁוּבַ֨ת הַשָּׁנָ֜ה לְעֵ֣ת ׀ צֵ֣את הַמְּלָכִ֗ים וַיִּנְהַ֣ג יוֹאָב֩ אֶת־חֵ֨יל הַצָּבָ֜א וַיַּשְׁחֵ֣ת ׀ אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ בְּנֵֽי־עַמּ֗וֹן וַיָּבֹא֙ וַיָּ֣צַר אֶת־רַבָּ֔ה וְדָוִ֖יד יֹשֵׁ֣ב בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וַיַּ֥ךְ יוֹאָ֛ב אֶת־רַבָּ֖ה וַיֶּֽהֶרְסֶֽהָ׃

Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἐπιόντι ἔτει ἐν τῇ ἐξόδῳ τῶν βασιλέων καὶ ἤγαγεν Ἰωὰβ πᾶσαν τὴν δύναμιν τῆς στρατείας, καὶ ἔφθειραν τὴν χώραν υἱῶν Ἀμμών · καὶ ἦλθεν καὶ περιεκάθισεν τὴν Ῥάββαν. καὶ Δαυεὶδ ἐκάθητο ἐν Ἰερουσαλήμ · καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν Ῥαββὰ καὶ κατέσκαψεν αὐτήν.

Factum est autem post anni círculum, eo témpore, quo solent reges ad bella procédere, congregávit Ioab exércitum, et robur milítiæ, et vastávit terram filiórum Ammon: perrexítque et obsédit Rabba: porro David manébat in Ierúsalem, quando Ioab percússit Rabba et destrúxit eam.

And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out [to battle], Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.

וַיִּקַּ֣ח דָּוִ֣יד אֶת־עֲטֶֽרֶת מַלְכָּ־ם֩ מֵעַ֨ל רֹאשׁ֜וֹ וַֽיִּמְצָאָ֣הּ ׀ מִשְׁקַ֣ל כִּכַּר־זָהָ֗ב וּבָהּ֙ אֶ֣בֶן יְקָרָ֔ה וַתְּהִ֖י עַל־רֹ֣אשׁ דָּוִ֑יד וּשְׁלַ֥ל הָעִ֛יר הוֹצִ֖יא הַרְבֵּ֥ה מְאֹֽד׃

καὶ ἔλαβεν Δαυεὶδ τὸν στέφανον Μολχὸλ βασιλέως αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτοῦ, καὶ εὑρέθη σταθμὸς αὐτοῦ τάλαντον χρυσίου, καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ λίθος τίμιος, καὶ ἦν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν Δαυείδ · καὶ σκῦλα τῆς πόλεως ἐξήνεγκεν πολλὰ σφόδρα.

Tulit autem David corónam Melchom de cápite eius, et invénit in ea auri pondo taléntum, et pretiosíssimas gemmas, fecítque sibi inde diadéma: manúbias quoque urbis plúrimas tulit:

And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and [there were] precious stones in it; and it was set upon David ’s head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.

וְאֶת הָ־עָ֨ם אֲשֶׁר בָּ֜־הּ הוֹצִ֗יא וַיָּ֨שַׂר בַּמְּגֵרָ֜ה וּבַחֲרִיצֵ֤י הַבַּרְזֶל֙ וּבַמְּגֵר֔וֹת וְכֵן֙ יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה דָוִ֔יד לְכֹ֖ל עָרֵ֣י בְנֵי־עַמּ֑וֹן וַיָּ֧שָׁב דָּוִ֛יד וְכָל הָ־עָ֖ם יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ פ

καὶ τὸν λαὸν τὸν ἐν αὐτῇ ἐξήγαγεν καὶ διέπρισεν πρίοσιν καὶ ἐν σκεπάρνοις σιδηροῖς, καὶ οὕτως ἐποίησεν Δαυεὶδ τοῖς παισὶν υἱοῖς Ἀμμών · καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν Δαυεὶδ καὶ πᾶς λαὸς αὐτοῦ εἰς Ἰερουσαλήμ.

pópulum autem, qui erat in ea, edúxit, et fecit super eos tríbulas, et trahas, et ferráta carpénta transíre, ita ut dissecaréntur et contereréntur: sic fecit David cunctis úrbibus filiórum Ammon: et revérsus est cum omni pópulo suo in Ierúsalem.

And he brought out the people that [were] in it, and cut [them] with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

וַיְהִי֙ אַחֲרֵי כֵ֔ן וַתַּעֲמֹ֧ד מִלְחָמָ֛ה בְּגֶ֖זֶר עִם־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים אָ֣ז הִכָּ֞ה סִבְּכַ֣י הַחֻֽשָׁתִ֗י אֶת־סִפַּ֛י מִילִדֵ֥י הָרְפָאִ֖ים וַיִּכָּנֵֽעוּ׃

Καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ ταῦτα καὶ ἐγένετο ἔτι πόλεμος ἐν Γάζερ μετὰ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων · τότε ἐπάταξεν Σοβοχαὶ Θωσαθεὶ τὸν Σαφοὺτ ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν τῶν γιγάντων καὶ ἐταπείνωσεν αὐτόν.

Post hæc ínitum est bellum in Gazer advérsum Philisthǽos, in quo percússit Sobóchai Husathítes, Sáphai de génere Ráphaim, et humiliávit eos.

וַתְּהִי־ע֥וֹד מִלְחָמָ֖ה אֶת־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים וַיַּ֞ךְ אֶלְחָנָ֣ן בֶּן־יעור אֶת־לַחְמִי֙ אֲחִי֙ גָּלְיָ֣ת הַגִּתִּ֔י וְעֵ֣ץ חֲנִית֔וֹ כִּמְנ֖וֹר אֹרְגִֽים׃

καὶ ἐγένετο ἔτι πόλεμος μετὰ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων, καὶ ἐπάταξεν Ἐλλὰν υἱὸς Ἰαεὶρ τὸν Ἐλεμεὲ ἀδελφὸν Γολιὰθ τοῦ Γεθθαίου, καὶ ξύλον δόρατος αὐτοῦ ὡς ἀντίον ὑφαινόντων.

Aliud quoque bellum gestum est advérsus Philisthǽos, in quo percússit Adeódatus fílius Saltus Bethlehemítes fratrem Góliath Gethǽi, cuius hastæ lignum erat quasi liciatórium texéntium.

וַתְּהִי־ע֥וֹד מִלְחָמָ֖ה בְּגַ֑ת וַיְהִ֣י ׀ אִ֣ישׁ מִדָּ֗ה וְאֶצְבְּעֹתָ֤יו שֵׁשׁ וָ־שֵׁשׁ֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים וְאַרְבַּ֔ע וְגַם־ה֖וּא נוֹלַ֥ד לְהָרָפָֽא׃

καὶ ἐγένετο ἔτι πόλεμος ἐν Γέθ, καὶ ἦν ἀνὴρ ὑπερμεγέθης, καὶ δάκτυλοι αὐτοῦ ἓξ καὶ ἓξ, εἴκοσι τέσσαρες · καὶ οὗτος ἦν ἀπόγονος γιγάντων.

Sed et áliud bellum áccidit in Geth, in quo fuit homo longíssimus, senos habens dígitos, id est, simul vigínti quátuor: qui et ipse de Rapha fúerat stirpe generátus.

καὶ ὠνείδισεν τὸν Ἰσραήλ, καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν Ἰωναθὰν υἱὸς Σαμαά, υἱὸς ἀδελφοῦ Δαυείδ.
