וַיְהִ֣י ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗י וַתִּלְבַּ֤שׁ אֶסְתֵּר֙ מַלְכ֔וּת וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֞ד בַּחֲצַ֤ר בֵּית הַ־מֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ הַפְּנִימִ֔ית נֹ֖כַח בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְ֠הַמֶּלֶךְ יוֹשֵׁ֞ב עַל־כִּסֵּ֤א מַלְכוּתוֹ֙ בְּבֵ֣ית הַמַּלְכ֔וּת נֹ֖כַח פֶּ֥תַח הַבָּֽיִת׃

ESG 5:1
Καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ ὡς ἐπαύσατο προσευχομένη, ἐξεδύσατο τὰ ἱμάτια τῆς θεραπείας καὶ περιεβάλετο τὴν δόξαν αὐτῆς · καὶ γενηθεῖσα ἐπιφανής, ἐπικαλεσαμένη τὸν πάντων ἐπόπτην θεὸν καὶ σωτῆρα, παρέλαβεν τὰς δύο ἅβρας, καὶ τῇ μὲν μιᾷ ἐπηρείδετο ὡς τρυφερευομένη, δὲ ἑτέρα ἐπηκολούθει κουφίζουσα τὴν ἔνδυσιν αὐτῆς · καὶ αὐτὴ ἐρυθριῶσα ἀκμῇ κάλλους αὐτῆς, καὶ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῆς ἱλαρὸν ὡς προσφιλές, δὲ καρδία αὐτῆς ἀπεστενωμένη ἀπὸ τοῦ φόβου. καὶ εἰσελθοῦσα πάσας τὰς θύρας κατέστη ἐνώπιον τοῦ βασιλέως · καὶ αὐτὸς ἐκάθητο ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ, καὶ πᾶσαν στολὴν τῆς ἐπιφανείας αὐτοῦ ἐνεδεδύκει, ὅλος διὰ χρυσοῦ καὶ λίθων πολυτελῶν, καὶ ἦν φοβερὸς σφόδρα. καὶ ἄρας τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ πεπυρωμένον δόξῃ ἐν ἀκμῇ θυμοῦ ἔβλεψεν · καὶ ἔπεσεν βασίλισσα καὶ μετέβαλεν τὸ χρῶμα αὐτῆς ἐν ἐκλύσει, καὶ κατεπέκυψεν ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν τῆς ἅβρας τῆς προπορευομένης. καὶ μετέβαλεν θεὸς τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ βασιλέως εἰς πραύτητα, καὶ ἀγωνιάσας ἀνεπήδησεν ἀπὸ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀνέλαβεν αὐτὴν ἐπὶ τὰς ἀγκάλας αὐτοῦ μέχρις οὗ κατέστη, καὶ παρεκάλει αὐτὴν λόγοις εἰρηνικοῖς. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Τί ἐστιν, Ἐσθήρ; ἐγὼ ἀδελφός σου, θάρσει, οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνῃς · ὅτι κοινὸν τὸ πρόσταγμα ἡμῶν ἐστίν · πρόσελθε.

Die autem tértio indúta est Esther regálibus vestiméntis, et stetit in átrio domus régiæ, quod erat intérius, contra basílicam regis: at ille sedébat super sólium suum in consistório palátii contra óstium domus.

Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on [her] royal [apparel], and stood in the inner court of the king ’s house, over against the king ’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

וַיְהִי֩ כִרְא֨וֹת הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶת־אֶסְתֵּ֣ר הַמַּלְכָּ֗ה עֹמֶ֨דֶת֙ בֶּֽחָצֵ֔ר נָשְׂאָ֥ה חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינָ֑יו וַיּ֨וֹשֶׁט הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ לְאֶסְתֵּ֗ר אֶת־שַׁרְבִ֤יט הַזָּהָב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּיָד֔וֹ וַתִּקְרַ֣ב אֶסְתֵּ֔ר וַתִּגַּ֖ע בְּרֹ֥אשׁ הַשַּׁרְבִֽיט׃ ס

καὶ ἄρας τὴν χρυσῆν ῥάβδον ἐπέθηκεν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτῆς, καὶ ἠσπάσατο αὐτὴν καὶ εἶπεν Λάλησόν μοι. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Εἶδόν σε, κύριε, ὡς ἄγγελον θεοῦ, ἐταράχθη καρδία μου ἀπὸ φόβου τῆς δόξης σου. ὅτι θαυμαστὸς εἶ, κύριε, καὶ τὸ πρόσωπόν σου χαρίτων μεστόν. ἐν δὲ τῷ διαλέγεσθαι αὐτὴν ἔπεσεν ἀπὸ ἐκλύσεως · καὶ βασιλεὺς ἐταράσσετο, καὶ πᾶσα θεραπεία αὐτοῦ παρεκάλει αὐτήν.

Cumque vidísset Esther regínam stantem, plácuit óculis eius, et exténdit contra eam virgam áuream, quam tenébat manu: quæ accédens, osculáta est summitátem virgæ eius.

And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, [that] she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that [was] in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהּ֙ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ מַה לָּ֖־ךְ אֶסְתֵּ֣ר הַמַּלְכָּ֑ה וּמַה בַּקָּשָׁתֵ֛־ךְ עַד־חֲצִ֥י הַמַּלְכ֖וּת וְיִנָּ֥תֵֽן לָֽךְ׃

καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεύς Τί θέλεις, Ἐσθήρ; καὶ τί σού ἐστιν τὸ ἀξίωμα; ἕως τοῦ ἡμίσους τῆς βασιλείας μου, ἔσται σοι.

Dixítque ad eam rex: Quid vis Esther regína: quæ est petítio tua: étiam si dimídiam partem regni petíeris, dábitur tibi.

וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֶסְתֵּ֔ר אִם־עַל הַ־מֶּ֖לֶךְ ט֑וֹב יָב֨וֹא הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ וְהָמָן֙ הַיּ֔וֹם אֶל הַ־מִּשְׁתֶּ֖ה אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂ֥יתִי לֽוֹ׃

εἶπεν δὲ Ἐσθήρ Ἡμέρα μου ἐπίσημος σήμερόν ἐστιν · εἰ οὖν δοκεῖ τῷ βασιλεῖ, ἐλθάτω καὶ αὐτὸς καὶ Ἁμὰν εἰς τὴν δοχὴν ἣν ποιήσω σήμερον.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ מַהֲרוּ֙ אֶת־הָמָ֔ן לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת אֶת־דְּבַ֣ר אֶסְתֵּ֑ר וַיָּבֹ֤א הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ וְהָמָ֔ן אֶל הַ־מִּשְׁתֶּ֖ה אֲשֶׁר־עָשְׂתָ֥ה אֶסְתֵּֽר׃

καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεύς Κατασπεύσατε Ἁμὰν ὅπως ποιήσωμεν τὸν λόγον Ἐσθήρ · καὶ παραγίνονται ἀμφότεροι εἰς τὴν δοχὴν ἣν εἶπεν Ἐσθήρ.

Statímque rex, Vocáte, inquit cito Aman ut Esther obédiat voluntáti. Venérunt ítaque rex et Aman ad convívium, quod eis regína paráverat.

ἐν δὲ τῷ πότῳ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς πρὸς Ἐσθήρ Τί ἐστιν, βασίλισσα Ἐσθήρ; ἔσται ὅσα ἀξιοῖς.

Dixítque ei rex, postquam vinum bíberat abundánter: Quid petis ut detur tibi? et pro qua re póstulas? étiam si dimídiam partem regni mei petíeris, impetrábis.

And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What [is] thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what [is] thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

εἰ εὗρον χάριν ἐνώπιον τοῦ βασιλέως, ἐλθάτω βασιλεὺς καὶ Ἁμὰν ἔτι τὴν αὔριον εἰς τὴν δοχὴν ἣν ποιήσω αὐτοῖς, καὶ αὔριον ποιήσω τὰ αὐτά.

Si invéni in conspéctu regis grátiam, et si regi placet ut det mihi quod póstulo, et meam ímpleat petitiónem: véniat rex et Aman ad convívium quod parávi eis, et cras apériam regi voluntátem meam.

וַיֵּצֵ֤א הָמָן֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא שָׂמֵ֖חַ וְט֣וֹב לֵ֑ב וְכִרְאוֹת֩ הָמָ֨ן אֶֽת־מָרְדֳּכַ֜י בְּשַׁ֣עַר הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ וְלֹא־קָם֙ וְלֹא־זָ֣ע מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וַיִּמָּלֵ֥א הָמָ֛ן עַֽל־מָרְדֳּכַ֖י חֵמָֽה׃

Καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Ἁμὰν ἀπὸ τοῦ βασιλέως ὑπερχαρὴς εὐφραινόμενος · ἐν δὲ τῷ ἰδεῖν Ἁμὰν Μαρδοχαῖον τὸν Ἰουδαῖον ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ ἐθυμώθη σφόδρα.

καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ζωσάρα γυνὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ οἱ φίλοι Κοπήτω σοι ξύλον πηχῶν πεντήκοντα, ὄρθρου δὲ εἰπὸν τῷ βασιλεῖ καὶ κρεμασθήτω Μαρδοχαῖος ἐπὶ τοῦ ξύλου · σὺ δὲ εἴσελθε εἰς τὴν δοχὴν σὺν τῷ βασιλεῖ καὶ εὐφραίνου. καὶ ἤρεσεν τὸ ῥῆμα τῷ Ἁμάν, καὶ ἡτοιμάσθη τὸ ξύλον.

Responderúntque ei Zares uxor eius, et céteri amíci: Iube parári excélsam trabem, habéntem altitúdinis quinquagínta cúbitos, et dic mane regi ut appendátur super eam Mardochǽus, et sic ibis cum rege lætus ad convívium. Plácuit ei consílium, et iussit excélsam parári crucem.

Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.
