וַיַּעַל֩ אַבְרָ֨ם מִמִּצְרַ֜יִם ה֠וּא וְאִשְׁתּ֧וֹ וְכָל־אֲשֶׁר ל֛־וֹ וְל֥וֹט עִמּ֖וֹ הַנֶּֽגְבָּה׃

Ἀνέβη δὲ Ἀβρὰμ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου αὐτὸς καὶ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτοῦ καὶ Λὼτ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν ἔρημον.

Ascéndit ergo Abram de Ægýpto, ipse et uxor eius, et ómnia quæ habébat, et Lot cum eo ad austrálem plagam.

ויעל אברם ממצרים הוא ואשׁתו וכל־אשׁר לו ולוט עמו הנגבה

And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.

And Abram [was] very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὅθεν ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον ἕως Βαιθήλ, ἕως τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἦν ἡ σκηνὴ αὐτοῦ τὸ πρότερον, ἀνὰ μέσον Βαιθὴλ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Ἁγγαί,

Reversúsque est per iter, quo vénerat, a merídie in Bethel, usque ad locum ubi prius fíxerat tabernáculum inter Bethel et Hai:

וילך למסעיו מנגב ועד בית אל עד המקום אשׁר־היה שׁם אהלו בתחלה בין בית אל ובין העי

And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;

εἰς τὸν τόπον τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου οὗ ἐποίησεν ἐκεῖ τὴν σκηνήν · καὶ ἐπεκαλέσατο ἐκεῖ Ἀβρὰμ τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου.

אל־מקום המזבח אשׁר־עשׂה שׁם בראישׁונה ויקרא שׁם אברם בשׁם יהוה

Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.

וְגַם לְ־ל֔וֹט הַהֹלֵ֖ךְ אֶת־אַבְרָ֑ם הָיָ֥ה צֹאן וּ־בָקָ֖ר וְאֹהָלִֽים׃

καὶ Λὼτ τῷ συμπορευομένῳ μετὰ Ἀβρὰμ ἦν πρόβατα καὶ βόες καὶ κτήνη.

Sed et Lot qui erat cum Abram, fuérunt greges óvium, et arménta, et tabernácula.

וגם ללוט ההלך את־אברם היה צאן ובקר ואהלים

And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

וְלֹא־נָשָׂ֥א אֹתָ֛ם הָאָ֖רֶץ לָשֶׁ֣בֶת יַחְדָּ֑ו כִּֽי־הָיָ֤ה רְכוּשָׁם֙ רָ֔ב וְלֹ֥א יָֽכְל֖וּ לָשֶׁ֥בֶת יַחְדָּֽו׃

καὶ οὐκ ἐχώρει αὐτοὺς ἡ γῆ κατοικεῖν ἅμα, ὅτι ἦν τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτῶν πολλά · καὶ οὐκ ἐδύναντο κατοικεῖν ἅμα.

Nec póterat eos cápere terra, ut habitárent simul: erat quippe substántia eórum multa, et nequíbant habitáre commúniter.

ולא נשׂאה אתם הארץ לשׁבת יחדו כי־היה רכושׁם רב ולא יכלו לשׁבת יחדו

And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

וַֽיְהִי־רִ֗יב בֵּ֚ין רֹעֵ֣י מִקְנֵֽה־אַבְרָ֔ם וּבֵ֖ין רֹעֵ֣י מִקְנֵה־ל֑וֹט וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔י אָ֖ז יֹשֵׁ֥ב בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

καὶ ἐγένετο μάχη ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων τῶν κτηνῶν τοῦ Ἀβρὰμ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων τῶν κτηνῶν τοῦ Λώτ · οἱ δὲ Χαναναῖοι καὶ οἱ Φερεζαῖοι τότε κατῴκουν τὴν γῆν.

Unde et facta est rixa inter pastóres gregum Abram et Lot. Eo autem témpore Chananǽus et Pherezǽus habitábant in terra illa.

ויהי־ריב בין רעי מקנה־אברם ובין רעי מקנה־לוט והכנעני והפרזי אז ישׁבים בארץ

And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram ’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot ’s cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אַבְרָ֜ם אֶל־ל֗וֹט אַל־נָ֨א תְהִ֤י מְרִיבָה֙ בֵּינִ֣י וּבֵינֶ֔יךָ וּבֵ֥ין רֹעַ֖י וּבֵ֣ין רֹעֶ֑יךָ כִּֽי־אֲנָשִׁ֥ים אַחִ֖ים אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃

εἶπεν δὲ Ἀβρὰμ τῷ Λώτ Μὴ ἔστω μάχη ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ σοῦ, καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων σοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων μοῦ, ὅτι ἄνθρωποι ἀδελφοὶ ἡμεῖς ἐσμέν.

Dixit ergo Abram ad Lot: Ne quæso sit iúrgium inter me et te, et inter pastóres meos et pastóres tuos: fratres enim sumus.

ויאמר אברם אל־לוט אל־נא תהיה מריבה ביני ובינך ובין רעי ובין רעיך כי־אנשׁים אחים אנחנו

And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we [be] brethren.

הֲלֹ֤א כָל הָ־אָ֨רֶץ֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ הִפָּ֥רֶד נָ֖א מֵעָלָ֑י אִם הַ־שְּׂמֹ֣אל וְאֵימִ֔נָה וְאִם הַ־יָּמִ֖ין וְאַשְׂמְאִֽילָה׃
9
καὶ ἰδοὺ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ ἐναντίον σου · διαχωρίσθητι ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ. εἰ σὺ εἰς ἀριστερά, ἐγὼ εἰς δεξιά · εἰ δὲ σὺ εἰς δεξιά, ἐγὼ εἰς ἀριστερά.

Ecce univérsa terra coram te est: recéde a me, óbsecro: si ad sinístram íeris, ego déxteram tenébo: si tu déxteram elégeris, ego ad sinístram pergam.

הלוא כל הארץ לפניך הפרד נא מעלי אם השׂמאלה והימינה ואם הימינה והשׂמאלה
9
[Is] not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if [thou wilt take] the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if [thou depart] to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

וַיִּשָּׂא־ל֣וֹט אֶת עֵינָ֗י־ו וַיַּרְא֙ אֶת־כָּל־כִּכַּ֣ר הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן כִּ֥י כֻלָּ֖הּ מַשְׁקֶ֑ה לִפְנֵ֣י ׀ שַׁחֵ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה אֶת־סְדֹם֙ וְאֶת־עֲמֹרָ֔ה כְּגַן־יְהוָה֙ כְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם בֹּאֲכָ֖ה צֹֽעַר׃

καὶ ἐπάρας Λὼτ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ ἴδεν πᾶσαν τὴν περίχωρον τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, ὅτι πᾶσα ἦν ποτιζομένη πρὸ τοῦ καταστρέψαι τὸν θεὸν Σόδομα καὶ Γόμορρα ὡς ὁ παράδεισος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ὡς ἡ γῆ Αἰγύπτου, ἕως ἐλθεῖν εἰς Ζόγορα.

Elevátis ítaque Lot óculis, vidit omnem circa regiónem Iordánis, quæ univérsa irrigabátur ántequam subvérteret Dóminus Sódomam et Gomórrham, sicut paradísus Dómini, et sicut Ægýptus veniéntibus in Segor.

וישׂא־לוט את עיניו וירא את־כל־ככר הירדן כי כלו משׁקה לפני שׁחת יהוה את־סדם ואת־עמרה כגן־יהוה כארץ מצרים באכה צערה
10
And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it [was] well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, [even] as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

וַיִּבְחַר ל֣־וֹ ל֗וֹט אֵ֚ת כָּל־כִּכַּ֣ר הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן וַיִּסַּ֥ע ל֖וֹט מִקֶּ֑דֶם וַיִּפָּ֣רְד֔וּ אִ֖ישׁ מֵעַ֥ל אָחִֽיו׃
11
καὶ ἐξελέξατο ἑαυτῷ Λὼτ πᾶσαν τὴν περίχωρον τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, καὶ ἀπῆρεν Λὼτ ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν · καὶ διεχωρίσθησαν ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ.

Elegítque sibi Lot regiónem circa Iordánem, et recéssit ab oriénte: divisíque sunt altérutrum a fratre suo.

ויבחר לו לוט את כל־ככר הירדן ויסע לוט מקדם ויפרדו אישׁ מעל אחיו

Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

אַבְרָ֖ם יָשַׁ֣ב בְּאֶֽרֶץ־כְּנָ֑עַן וְל֗וֹט יָשַׁב֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י הַכִּכָּ֔ר וַיֶּאֱהַ֖ל עַד־סְדֹֽם׃

Ἀβρὰμ δὲ κατῴκησεν ἐν γῇ Χανάαν · Λὼτ δὲ κατῴκησεν ἐν πόλει τῶν περιχώρων καὶ ἐσκήνωσεν ἐν Σοδόμοις.

Abram habitávit in terra Chánaan: Lot vero morátus est in óppidis, quæ erant circa Iordánem, et habitávit in Sódomis.

אברם ישׁב בארץ־כנען ולוט ישׁב בערי הככר ויאהל עד־סדם

Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched [his] tent toward Sodom.

וְאַנְשֵׁ֣י סְדֹ֔ם רָעִ֖ים וְחַטָּאִ֑ים לַיהוָ֖ה מְאֹֽד׃

οἱ δὲ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ἐν Σοδόμοις πονηροὶ καὶ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐναντίον τοῦ θεοῦ σφόδρα.

Hómines autem Sodomítæ péssimi erant, et peccatóres coram Dómino nimis.

ואנשׁי סדם רעים וחטאים ליהוה מאד

But the men of Sodom [were] wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

וַֽיהוָ֞ה אָמַ֣ר אֶל־אַבְרָ֗ם אַחֲרֵי֙ הִפָּֽרֶד־ל֣וֹט מֵֽעִמּ֔וֹ שָׂ֣א נָ֤א עֵינֶ֨יךָ֙ וּרְאֵ֔ה מִן הַ־מָּק֖וֹם אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֣ה שָׁ֑ם צָפֹ֥נָה וָנֶ֖גְבָּה וָקֵ֥דְמָה וָיָֽמָּה׃

Ὁ δὲ θεὸς εἶπεν τῷ Ἀβρὰμ μετὰ τὸ διαχωρισθῆναι τὸν Λὼτ ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ Ἀνάβλεψον τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου καὶ ἴδε ἀπὸ τοῦ τόπου οὗ νῦν σὺ εἶ πρὸς βορρᾶν καὶ λίβα καὶ ἀνατολὰς καὶ θάλασσαν ·

Dixítque Dóminus ad Abram, postquam divísus est ab eo Lot: Leva óculos tuos et vide a loco, in quo nunc es, ad aquilónem et merídiem, ad oriéntem et occidéntem.

ויהוה אמר אל־אברם אחרי הפרד־לוט מעמו שׂא נא עיניך וראה מן המקום אשׁר־אתה שׁם צפונה ונגבה וקדמה וימה

And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

כִּ֧י אֶת־כָּל הָ־אָ֛רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֥ה רֹאֶ֖ה לְךָ֣ אֶתְּנֶ֑נָּה וּֽלְזַרְעֲךָ֖ עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃

ὅτι πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἣν σὺ ὁρᾷς, σοὶ δώσω αὐτὴν καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος.

Omnem terram, quam cónspicis, tibi dabo, et sémini tuo usque in sempitérnum.

כי את־כל הארץ אשׁר־אתה ראה לך אתננה ולזרעך עד־עולם

For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

וְשַׂמְתִּ֥י אֶֽת זַרְעֲ־ךָ֖ כַּעֲפַ֣ר הָאָ֑רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ אִם־יוּכַ֣ל אִ֗ישׁ לִמְנוֹת֙ אֶת־עֲפַ֣ר הָאָ֔רֶץ גַּֽם זַרְעֲ־ךָ֖ יִמָּנֶֽה׃

καὶ ποιήσω τὸ σπέρμα σου ὡς τὴν ἄμμον τῆς γῆς · εἰ δύναταί τις ἐξαριθμῆσαι τὴν ἄμμον τῆς γῆς, καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου ἀριθμηθήσεται.

Faciámque semen tuum sicut púlverem terræ: si quis potest hóminum numeráre púlverem terræ, semen quoque tuum numeráre póterit.

ושׂמתי את זרעך כעפר הארץ אשׁר אם־יוכל אישׁ למנות את־עפר הארץ גם זרעך ימנה
16
And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, [then] shall thy seed also be numbered.

ק֚וּם הִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְ בָּאָ֔רֶץ לְאָרְכָּ֖הּ וּלְרָחְבָּ֑הּ כִּ֥י לְךָ֖ אֶתְּנֶֽנָּה׃

ἀναστὰς διόδευσον τὴν γῆν εἴς τε τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς καὶ εἰς τὸ πλάτος · ὅτι σοὶ δώσω αὐτὴν καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.

Surge, et perámbula terram in longitúdine, et in latitúdine sua: quia tibi datúrus sum eam.

קום התהלך בארץ לארכה ולרחבה כי לך אתננה

Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

וַיֶּאֱהַ֣ל אַבְרָ֗ם וַיָּבֹ֛א וַיֵּ֛שֶׁב בְּאֵלֹנֵ֥י מַמְרֵ֖א אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּחֶבְר֑וֹן וַיִּֽבֶן־שָׁ֥ם מִזְבֵּ֖חַ לַֽיהוָֽה׃ פ

καὶ ἀποσκηνώσας Ἀβρὰμ ἐλθὼν κατῴκησεν παρὰ τὴν δρῦν τὴν Μαμβρήν, ἣ ἦν ἐν Χεβρών · καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐκεῖ θυσιαστήριον Κυρίῳ.

Movens ígitur tabernáculum suum Abram, venit, et habitávit iuxta convállem Mambre, quæ est in Hebron: ædificavítque ibi altáre Dómino.

ויאל אברם ויבא וישׁב באלוני ממרא אשׁר בחברון ויבן־שׁם מזבח ליהוה

Then Abram removed [his] tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which [is] in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.
