וּפְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים נִלְחֲמ֣וּ בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּ֑נָס אִֽישׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַיִּפְּל֥וּ חֲלָלִ֖ים בְּהַ֥ר גִּלְבֹּֽעַ׃

Καὶ ἀλλόφυλοι ἐπολέμησαν πρὸς Ἰσραήλ, καὶ ἔφυγον ἀπὸ προσώπου ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἔπεσον τραυματίαι ἐν ὄρει Γελβοῦε.

Philísthiim autem pugnábant contra Israel, fugerúntque viri Israel Palæsthínos, et cecidérunt vulneráti in monte Gélboe.

וַיַּדְבְּק֣וּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים אַחֲרֵ֥י שָׁא֖וּל וְאַחֲרֵ֣י בָנָ֑יו וַיַּכּ֣וּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים אֶת־יוֹנָתָ֧ן וְאֶת־אֲבִינָדָ֛ב וְאֶת־מַלְכִּי־שׁ֖וּעַ בְּנֵ֥י שָׁאֽוּל׃

καὶ κατεδίωξαν ἀλλόφυλοι ὀπίσω Σαοὺλ καὶ ὀπίσω υἱῶν αὐτοῦ · καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἀλλόφυλοι τὸν Ἰωναθὰν καὶ τὸν Ἀμειναδὰβ καὶ τὸν Μελχεισοῦε υἱοὺς Σαούλ.

Cumque appropinquássent Philisthǽi, persequéntes Saul, et fílios eius, percussérunt Iónathan, et Abínadab, et Melchísua fílios Saul.

וַתִּכְבַּ֤ד הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ עַל־שָׁא֔וּל וַיִּמְצָאֻ֖הוּ הַמּוֹרִ֣ים בַּקָּ֑שֶׁת וַיָּ֖חֶל מִן הַ־יּוֹרִֽים׃

καὶ ἐβαρύνθη πόλεμος ἐπὶ Σαούλ · καὶ εὗρον αὐτοὺς οἱ τοξόται ἐν τόξοις καὶ πόνοις, καὶ ἐπόνεσαν ἀπὸ τῶν τόξων.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שָׁאוּל֩ אֶל־נֹשֵׂ֨א כֵלָ֜יו שְׁלֹ֥ף חַרְבְּךָ֣ ׀ וְדָקְרֵ֣נִי בָ֗הּ פֶּן־יָבֹ֜אוּ הָעֲרֵלִ֤ים הָאֵ֨לֶּה֙ וְהִתְעַלְּלוּ בִ֔־י וְלֹ֤א אָבָה֙ נֹשֵׂ֣א כֵלָ֔יו כִּ֥י יָרֵ֖א מְאֹ֑ד וַיִּקַּ֤ח שָׁאוּל֙ אֶת הַ־חֶ֔רֶב וַיִּפֹּ֖ל עָלֶֽיהָ׃ ס

καὶ εἶπεν Σαοὺλ τῷ αἴροντι τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ Σπάσαι τὴν ῥομφαίαν σου καὶ ἐκκέντησόν με ἐν αὐτῇ, μὴ ἔλθωσιν οἱ ἀπερίτμητοι οὗτοι καὶ ἐμπαίξωσίν μοι. καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο αἴρων τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἐφοβεῖτο σφόδρα · καὶ ἔλαβεν Σαοὺλ τὴν ῥομφαίαν καὶ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν.

Et dixit Saul ad armígerum suum: Evagína gládium tuum, et intérfice me, ne forte véniant incircumcísi isti, et illúdant mihi. Nóluit autem ármiger eius hoc fácere, timóre pertérritus: arrípuit ergo Saul ensem, et írruit in eum.

Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

וַיַּ֥רְא נֹשֵֽׂא כֵלָ֖י־ו כִּ֣י מֵ֣ת שָׁא֑וּל וַיִּפֹּ֥ל גַּם־ה֛וּא עַל הַ־חֶ֖רֶב וַיָּמֹֽת׃ ס

καὶ εἶδεν αἴρων τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἀπέθανεν Σαούλ, καὶ ἔπεσεν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπὶ τὴν ῥομφαίαν αὐτοῦ.

Quod cum vidísset ármiger eius, vidélicet mórtuum esse Saul, írruit étiam ipse in gládium suum, et mórtuus est.

καὶ ἀπέθανεν Σαοὺλ καὶ τρεῖς υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ πᾶς οἶκος αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἀπέθανεν.

καὶ εἶδεν πᾶς ἀνὴρ Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῷ αὐλῶνι ὅτι ἔφυγεν Ἰσραήλ, καὶ ὅτι ἀπέθανεν Σαοὺλ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ κατέλειπον τὰς πόλεις αὐτῶν καὶ ἔφυγον · καὶ ἦλθον ἀλλόφυλοι καὶ κατῴκησαν ἐν αὐταῖς.

Quod cum vidíssent viri Israel qui habitábant in campéstribus, fugérunt: et Saul ac fíliis eius mórtuis, dereliquérunt urbes suas, et huc illúcque dispérsi sunt: venerúntque Philísthiim, et habitavérunt in eis.

וַיְהִי֙ מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים לְפַשֵּׁ֖ט אֶת הַֽ־חֲלָלִ֑ים וַֽיִּמְצְא֤וּ אֶת־שָׁאוּל֙ וְאֶת בָּנָ֔י־ו נֹפְלִ֖ים בְּהַ֥ר גִּלְבֹּֽעַ׃

Καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ ἐχομένῃ καὶ ἦλθον ἀλλόφυλοι τοῦ σκυλεύειν τοὺς τραυματίας, καὶ εὗρον τὸν Σαοὺλ καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ πεπτωκότας ἐν τῷ ὄρει Γελβοῦε.

καὶ ἐξέδυσαν αὐτόν, καὶ ἔλαβον τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀπέστειλαν εἰς γῆν ἀλλοφύλων κύκλῳ τοῦ εὐαγγελίσασθαι τοῖς εἰδώλοις αὐτῶν καὶ τῷ λαῷ ·

וַיָּשִׂ֨ימוּ֙ אֶת כֵּלָ֔י־ו בֵּ֖ית אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם וְאֶת גֻּלְגָּלְתּ֥־וֹ תָקְע֖וּ בֵּ֥ית דָּגֽוֹן׃ ס

καὶ ἔθηκαν τὰ σκεύη αὐτῶν ἐν οἴκῳ θεοῦ αὐτῶν, τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ ἔθηκαν ἐν οἴκῳ Δαγών.

וַיָּקוּמוּ֮ כָּל־אִ֣ישׁ חַיִל֒ וַיִּשְׂא֞וּ אֶת־גּוּפַ֣ת שָׁא֗וּל וְאֵת֙ גּוּפֹ֣ת בָּנָ֔יו וַיְבִיא֖וּם יָבֵ֑ישָׁה וַיִּקְבְּר֨וּ אֶת עַצְמוֹתֵי־הֶ֜ם תַּ֤חַת הָאֵלָה֙ בְּיָבֵ֔שׁ וַיָּצ֖וּמוּ שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים׃

καὶ ἠγέρθησαν ἐκ Γαλαὰδ πᾶς ἀνὴρ δυνατός, ἔλαβον τὸ σῶμα Σαοὺλ καὶ τὸ σῶμα τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἤνεγκαν αὐτὰ εἰς Ἰαβείς, καὶ ἔθαψαν τὰ ὀστᾶ αὐτῶν ὑπὸ τὴν δρῦν ἐν Ἰαβείς · καὶ ἐνήστευσαν ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας.

καὶ ἀπέθανεν Σαοὺλ ἐν ταῖς ἀνομίαις αὐτοῦ αἷς ἠνόμησεν τῷ θεῷ κατὰ τὸν λόγον Κυρίου, διότι οὐκ ἐφύλαξεν · ὅτι ἐπηρώτησεν Σαοὺλ ἐν τῷ ἐνγαστριμύθῳ τοῦ ζητῆσαι, καὶ ἀπεκρίνατο αὐτῷ Σαμουὴλ προφήτης,

καὶ οὐκ ἐζήτησεν Κύριον · καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτόν, καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν τὴν βασιλείαν τῷ Δαυεὶδ υἱῷ Ἰεσσαί.
