וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר שָׁא֗וּל אֶל־יוֹנָתָ֤ן בְּנוֹ֙ וְאֶל־כָּל עֲבָדָ֔י־ו לְהָמִ֖ית אֶת־דָּוִ֑ד וִיהֽוֹנָתָן֙ בֶּן־שָׁא֔וּל חָפֵ֥ץ בְּדָוִ֖ד מְאֹֽד׃

Καὶ ἐλάλησεν Σαοὺλ πρὸς Ἰωναθὰν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ πρὸς πάντας τοὺς παῖδας αὐτοῦ θανατῶσαι τὸν Δαυείδ.

וַיַּגֵּ֤ד יְהוֹנָתָן֙ לְדָוִ֣ד לֵאמֹ֔ר מְבַקֵּ֛שׁ שָׁא֥וּל אָבִ֖י לַהֲמִיתֶ֑ךָ וְעַתָּה֙ הִשָּֽׁמֶר־נָ֣א בַבֹּ֔קֶר וְיָשַׁבְתָּ֥ בַסֵּ֖תֶר וְנַחְבֵּֽאתָ׃

καὶ Ἰωναθὰν υἱὸς Σαοὺλ ᾑρεῖτο τὸν Δαυεὶδ σφόδρα · καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν Ἰωναθὰν τῷ Δαυεὶδ λέγων Σαοὺλ ζητεῖ θανατῶσαί σε · φύλαξαι οὖν αὔριον πρωί, καὶ κρύβηθι καὶ κάθισον κρυβῇ ·

וַאֲנִ֨י אֵצֵ֜א וְעָמַדְתִּ֣י לְיַד אָבִ֗־י בַּשָּׂדֶה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַתָּ֣ה שָׁ֔ם וַאֲנִ֕י אֲדַבֵּ֥ר בְּךָ֖ אֶל אָבִ֑־י וְרָאִ֥יתִי מָ֖ה וְהִגַּ֥דְתִּי לָֽךְ׃ ס

καὶ ἐγὼ ἐξελεύσομαι καὶ στήσομαι ἐχόμενος τοῦ πατρός μου ἐν ἀγρῷ οὗ ἐὰν ᾖς ἐκεῖ, καὶ ἐγὼ λαλήσω περὶ σοῦ πρὸς τὸν πατέρα μου; καὶ ὄψομαι τι ἐὰν , καὶ ἀπαγγελῶ σοι.

Ego autem egrédiens stabo iuxta patrem meum in agro, ubicúmque fúeris: et ego loquar de te ad patrem meum, et quodcúmque vídero, nuntiábo tibi.

וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר יְהוֹנָתָ֤ן בְּדָוִד֙ ט֔וֹב אֶל־שָׁא֖וּל אָבִ֑יו וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵ֠לָיו אַל־יֶחֱטָ֨א הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ בְּעַבְדּ֣וֹ בְדָוִ֗ד כִּ֣י ל֤וֹא חָטָא֙ לָ֔ךְ וְכִ֥י מַעֲשָׂ֖יו טוֹב לְ־ךָ֥ מְאֹֽד׃

καὶ ἐλάλησεν Ἰωναθὰν περὶ Δαυεὶδ ἀγαθὰ πρὸς Σαοὺλ τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ, καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν Μὴ ἁμαρτησάτω βασιλεὺς εἰς τὸν δοῦλόν σου Δαυείδ, ὅτι οὐχ ἡμάρτηκεν εἰς σέ, καὶ τὰ ποιήματα αὐτοῦ ἀγαθὰ σφόδρα.

וַיָּשֶׂם֩ אֶת נַפְשׁ֨־וֹ בְכַפּ֜וֹ וַיַּ֣ךְ אֶת הַ־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֗י וַיַּ֨עַשׂ יְהוָ֜ה תְּשׁוּעָ֤ה גְדוֹלָה֙ לְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל רָאִ֖יתָ וַתִּשְׂמָ֑ח וְלָ֤מָּה תֶֽחֱטָא֙ בְּדָ֣ם נָקִ֔י לְהָמִ֥ית אֶת־דָּוִ֖ד חִנָּֽם׃

καὶ ἔθετο τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν ἀλλόφυλον, καὶ ἐποίησεν Κύριος σωτηρίαν μεγάλην, καὶ πᾶς Ἰσραὴλ εἶδον καὶ ἐχάρησαν · καὶ ἵνα τί ἁμαρτάνεις εἰς αἷμα ἀθῷον θανατῶσαι τὸν Δαυείδ δωρεάν;

Et pósuit ánimam suam in manu sua, et percússit Philisthǽum, et fecit Dóminus salútem magnam univérso Israéli: vidísti, et lætátus es. Quare ergo peccas in sánguine innóxio, interfíciens David, qui est absque culpa?

For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest [it], and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?

וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע שָׁא֖וּל בְּק֣וֹל יְהוֹנָתָ֑ן וַיִּשָּׁבַ֣ע שָׁא֔וּל חַי־יְהוָ֖ה אִם־יוּמָֽת׃

καὶ ἤκουσεν Σαοὺλ τῆς φωνῆς Ἰωναθάν, καὶ ὤμοσεν Σαοὺλ λέγων Ζῇ Κύριος, εἰ ἀποθανεῖται.

καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Ἰωναθὰν τὸν Δαυεὶδ καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν αὐτῷ πάντα τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα · καὶ εἰσήγαγεν Ἰωναθὰν τὸν Δαυεὶδ πρὸς Σαούλ, καὶ ἦν ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτην ἡμέραν.

וַתּ֥וֹסֶף הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה לִֽהְי֑וֹת וַיֵּצֵ֨א דָוִ֜ד וַיִּלָּ֣חֶם בַּפְּלִשְׁתִּ֗ים וַיַּ֤ךְ בָּהֶם֙ מַכָּ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה וַיָּנֻ֖סוּ מִפָּנָֽיו׃

Καὶ προσέθετο πόλεμος γενέσθαι πρὸς Δαυείδ; καὶ κατίσχυσεν Δαυεὶδ καὶ ἐπολέμησεν τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους, καὶ ἐπάταξεν ἐν αὐτοῖς πληγὴν μεγάλην σφόδρα, καὶ ἔφυγον ἐκ προσώπου αὐτοῦ.

Motum est autem rursum bellum: et egréssus David, pugnávit advérsum Philísthiim: percussítque eos plaga magna, et fugérunt a fácie eius.

וַתְּהִי֩ ר֨וּחַ יְהוָ֤ה ׀ רָעָה֙ אֶל־שָׁא֔וּל וְהוּא֙ בְּבֵית֣וֹ יוֹשֵׁ֔ב וַחֲנִית֖וֹ בְּיָד֑וֹ וְדָוִ֖ד מְנַגֵּ֥ן בְּיָֽד׃

καὶ ἐγένετο πνεῦμα θεοῦ πονηρὸν ἐπὶ Σαούλ, καὶ αὐτὸς ἐν οἴκῳ καθεύδων, καὶ δόρυ ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ Δαυεὶδ ἔψαλλεν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτοῦ.

Et factus est spíritus Dómini malus in Saul: sedébat autem in domo sua, et tenébat lánceam: porro David psallébat manu sua.

וַיְבַקֵּ֨שׁ שָׁא֜וּל לְהַכּ֤וֹת בַּֽחֲנִית֙ בְּדָוִ֣ד וּבַקִּ֔יר וַיִּפְטַר֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י שָׁא֔וּל וַיַּ֥ךְ אֶֽת הַ־חֲנִ֖ית בַּקִּ֑יר וְדָוִ֛ד נָ֥ס וַיִּמָּלֵ֖ט בַּלַּ֥יְלָה הֽוּא׃ פ

καὶ ἐζήτει Σαοὺλ πατάξαι τὸ δόρυ εἰς Δαυείδ, καὶ ἀπέστη Δαυεὶδ ἐκ προσώπου Σαούλ; καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸ δόρυ εἰς τὸν τοῖχον, καὶ Δαυεὶδ ἀνεχώρησεν καὶ διεσώθη.

Nisúsque est Saul confígere David láncea in paríete, et declinávit David a fácie Saul: láncea autem casso vúlnere perláta est in paríetem, et David fugit, et salvátus est nocte illa.

And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Saul ’s presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.

καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῇ νυκτὶ ἐκείνῃ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Σαοὺλ ἀγγέλους εἰς οἶκον Δαυεὶδ φυλάξαι αὐτόν, τοῦ θανατῶσαι αὐτὸν πρωί · καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ Δαυεὶδ Μελχὸλ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ λέγουσα Ἐὰν μὴ σὺ σώσῃς τὴν ψυχὴν σαυτοῦ τὴν νύκτα ταύτην, αὔριον θανατωθήσῃ.

Dixítque Saul ad Michol: Quare sic illusísti mihi, et dimisísti inimícum meum ut fúgeret? Et respóndit Michol ad Saul: Quia ipse locútus est mihi: Dimítte me, alióquin interfíciam te.

And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?

Καὶ Δαυεὶδ ἔφυγεν καὶ διεσώθη, καὶ παραγίνεται πρὸς Σαμουὴλ εἰς Ἁρμαθάιμ, καὶ ἀπαγγέλλει αὐτῷ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν αὐτῷ Σαούλ · καὶ ἐπορεύθη Δαυεὶδ καὶ Σαμουήλ, καὶ ἐκάθισαν ἐν Ἀυὰθ ἐν Ῥαμά.

David autem fúgiens salvátus est, et venit ad Sámuel in Rámatha, et nuntiávit ei ómnia quæ fécerat sibi Saul: et abiérunt ipse et Sámuel, et moráti sunt in Naioth.

וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח שָׁא֣וּל מַלְאָכִים֮ לָקַ֣חַת אֶת־דָּוִד֒ וַיַּ֗רְא אֶֽת־לַהֲקַ֤ת הַנְּבִיאִים֙ נִבְּאִ֔ים וּשְׁמוּאֵ֕ל עֹמֵ֥ד נִצָּ֖ב עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וַתְּהִ֞י עַֽל־מַלְאֲכֵ֤י שָׁאוּל֙ ר֣וּחַ אֱלֹהִ֔ים וַיִּֽתְנַבְּא֖וּ גַּם־הֵֽמָּה׃

καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Σαοὺλ ἀγγέλους λαβεῖν τὸν Δαυείδ; καὶ εἶδαν τὴν ἐκκλησίαν τῶν προφητῶν, καὶ Σαμουὴλ εἱστήκει καθεστηκὼς ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶν. καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀγγέλους τοῦ Σαοὺλ πνεῦμα θεοῦ, καὶ προφητεύουσιν.

Misit ergo Saul lictóres, ut ráperent David: qui cum vidíssent cúneum prophetárum vaticinántium, et Samuélem stantem super eos, factus est étiam Spíritus Dómini in illis, et prophetáre cœpérunt étiam ipsi.
