וַאֲנִי֙ בִּשְׁנַ֣ת אַחַ֔ת לְדָרְיָ֖וֶשׁ הַמָּדִ֑י עָמְדִ֛י לְמַחֲזִ֥יק וּלְמָע֖וֹז לֽוֹ׃

Καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ τῷ πρώτῳ Κύρου τοῦ βασιλέως εἶπέν μοι ἐνισχῦσαι καὶ ἀνδρίζεσθαι

Καὶ νῦν ἦλθον τὴν ἀλήθειαν ὑποδεῖξαί σοι · ἰδοὺ τρεῖς βασιλεῖς ἀνθεστήκασιν ἐν τῇ Περσίδι, καὶ τέταρτος πλουτήσει πλοῦτον μέγαν παρὰ πάντας · καὶ ἐν τῷ κατισχῦσαι αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ πλούτῳ αὐτοῦ ἐπαναστήσεται παντὶ βασιλεῖ Ἑλλήνων.

Et nunc veritátem annuntiábo tibi. Ecce adhuc tres reges stabunt in Pérside, et quartus ditábitur ópibus nímiis super omnes: et cum invalúerit divítiis suis, concitábit omnes advérsum regnum Grǽciæ.

And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than [they] all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.

καὶ ἐν τῷ ἀναστῆναι αὐτὸν συντριβήσεται βασιλεία αὐτοῦ καὶ μερισθήσεται εἰς τοὺς τέσσαρας ἀνέμους τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, οὐ κατὰ τὴν ἀλκὴν αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ κατὰ τὴν κυρείαν αὐτοῦ ἣν ἐδυνάστευσε · ὅτι ἀποσταθήσεται βασιλεία αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἑτέρους διδάξει ταῦτα.

Et cum stéterit, conterétur regnum eius, et dividétur in quátuor ventos cæli: sed non in pósteros eius, neque secúndum poténtiam illíus, qua dominátus est: lacerábitur enim regnum eius étiam in extérnos, excéptis his.

And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.

καὶ ἐνισχύσει βασιλείαν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ εἷς ἐκ τῶν δυναστῶν κατισχύσει αὐτὸν καὶ δυναστεύσει δυναστείᾳ μεγάλῃ δυναστεία αὐτοῦ.

καὶ εἰς συντέλειαν ἐνιαυτῶν ἄξει αὐτούς, καὶ εἰσελεύσεται βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τὴν βορρᾶ ποιήσασθαι συνθήκας · καὶ οὐ μὴ κατισχύσῃ, ὅτι βραχίων αὐτοῦ οὐ στήσει ἰσχύν, καὶ βραχίων αὐτοῦ ναρκήσει καὶ τῶν συμπορευομένων μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ, καὶ μενεῖ εἰς ὥρας.

Et post finem annórum fœderabúntur: filiáque regis austri véniet ad regem aquilónis fácere amicítiam, et non obtinébit fortitúdinem bráchii, nec stabit semen eius: et tradétur ipsa, et qui adduxérunt eam, adolescéntes eius, et qui confortábant eam in tempóribus.

And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king ’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in [these] times.

וְעָמַ֛ד מִנֵּ֥צֶר שָׁרָשֶׁ֖יהָ כַּנּ֑וֹ וְיָבֹ֣א אֶל הַ־חַ֗יִל וְיָבֹא֙ בְּמָעוֹז֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן וְעָשָׂ֥ה בָהֶ֖ם וְהֶחֱזִֽיק׃

καὶ ἀναστήσεται φυτὸν ἐκ τῆς ῥίζης αὐτοῦ καθ᾽ ἑαυτόν, καὶ ἥξει ἐπὶ τὴν δύναμιν αὐτοῦ ἐν ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ βασιλεὺς βορρᾶ, καὶ ποιήσει ταραχὴν καὶ κατισχύσει.

Et stabit de gérmine radícum eius plantátio: et véniet cum exércitu, et ingrediétur provínciam regis aquilónis: et abutétur eis, et obtinébit.

καὶ τοὺς θεοὺς αὐτῶν καταστρέψει μετὰ τῶν χωνευτῶν αὐτῶν, καὶ τοὺς ὄχλους αὐτῶν μετὰ τῶν σκευῶν τῶν ἐπιθυμημάτων αὐτῶν, τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ τὸ χρυσίον, ἐν αἰχμαλωσίᾳ ἀποίσουσιν εἰς Αἴγυπτον · καὶ ἔσται ἔτος βασιλεῖ βορρᾶ.

καὶ εἰσελεύσεται εἰς βασιλείαν βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου ἡμέρας, καὶ ἐπιστρέψει ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ,

καὶ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ · καὶ ἐρεθισθήσεται, καὶ συνάξει συναγωγὴν ὄχλου πολλοῦ, καὶ εἰσελεύσεται κατ᾽ αὐτὴν κατασύρων. παρελεύσεται καὶ ἐπιστρέψει · καὶ παροξυνθήσεται ἐπὶ πολύ.

Fílii autem eius provocabúntur, et congregábunt multitúdinem exercítuum plurimórum: et véniet próperans, et inúndans: et revertétur, et concitábitur, et congrediétur cum róbore eius.

καὶ λήψεται τὴν συναγωγήν, καὶ ὑψωθήσεται καρδία αὐτοῦ, καὶ ταράξει πολλοὺς καὶ οὐ μὴ φοβηθῇ.

καὶ ἐπιστρέψει βασιλεὺς βορρᾶ καὶ συνάξει πόλεως συναγωγὴν μείζονα παρὰ τὴν πρώτην κατὰ συντέλειαν καιροῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ, καὶ εἰσελεύσεται εἰς αὐτὴν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἐν ὄχλῳ πολλῷ καὶ ἐν χρήμασι πολλοῖς.

Et véniet rex aquilónis, et comportábit ággerem, et cápiet urbes munitíssimas: et bráchia austri non sustinébunt, et consúrgent elécti eius ad resisténdum, et non erit fortitúdo.

So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither [shall there be any] strength to withstand.

Et ponet fáciem suam ut véniat ad tenéndum univérsum regnum eius, et recta fáciet cum eo: et fíliam feminárum dabit ei, ut evértat illud: et non stabit, nec illíus erit.

He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand [on his side], neither be for him.

ἐπιστρέψει τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ κατισχῦσαι τὴν χώραν αὐτοῦ, καὶ προσκόψει καὶ πεσεῖται, καὶ οὐχ εὑρεθήσεται.

καὶ ἀναστήσεται ἐκ τῆς ῥίζης αὐτοῦ φυτὸν βασιλείας εἰς ἀνάστασιν, ἀνὴρ τύπτων δόξαν βασιλέως · καὶ ἐν ἡμέραις ἐσχάταις συντριβήσεται, καὶ οὐκ ἐν ὀργῇ οὐδὲ ἐν πολέμῳ ·
