וַיַּ֤עַן מֹשֶׁה֙ וַיֹּ֔אמֶר וְהֵן֙ לֹֽא־יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ לִ֔י וְלֹ֥א יִשְׁמְע֖וּ בְּקֹלִ֑י כִּ֣י יֹֽאמְר֔וּ לֹֽא־נִרְאָ֥ה אֵלֶ֖יךָ יְהוָֽה׃

Ἀπεκρίθη δὲ Μωυσῆς καὶ εἶπεν Ἐὰν μὴ πιστεύσωσίν μοι μηδὲ εἰσακούσωσιν τῆς φωνῆς μου, ἐροῦσιν γὰρ ὅτι Οὐκ ὦπταί σοι ὁ θεός, τί ἐρῶ πρὸς αὐτούς;

Respóndens Móyses ait: Non credent mihi, neque áudient vocem meam, sed dicent: Non appáruit tibi Dóminus.

ויען משׁה ויאמר והן לא יאמנו לי ולא ישׁמעו לקולי כי יאמרו לא־נראה אליך יהוה

And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.

Dixit ergo ad eum: Quid est quod tenes in manu tua? Respóndit: Virga.

ויאמר אליו יהוה מה זה בידך ויאמר מטה

And the LORD said unto him, What [is] that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

καὶ εἶπεν Ῥίψον αὐτὴν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν. καὶ ἔρριψεν αὐτὴν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν, καὶ ἐγένετο ὄφις · καὶ ἔφυγεν Μωυσῆς ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ.

Dixítque Dóminus: Próice eam in terram. Proiécit, et versa est in cólubrum, ita ut fúgeret Móyses.

ויאמר השׁליכהו ארצה וישׁלכהו ארצה ויהי לנחשׁ וינס משׁה מפניו
3
And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

καὶ εἶπεν Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρα καὶ ἐπιλαβοῦ τῆς κέρκου · ἐκτείνας οὖν τὴν χεῖρα ἐπελάβετο τῆς κέρκου, καὶ ἐγένετο ῥάβδος ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ ·

Dixítque Dóminus: Exténde manum tuam, et apprehénde caudam eius. Exténdit, et ténuit, versáque est in virgam.

ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה שׁלח ידך ואחז בזנבו וישׁלח ידו ויחזק בו ויהי למטה בכפו

And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

לְמַ֣עַן יַאֲמִ֔ינוּ כִּֽי־נִרְאָ֥ה אֵלֶ֛יךָ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבֹתָ֑ם אֱלֹהֵ֧י אַבְרָהָ֛ם אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִצְחָ֖ק וֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃

ἵνα πιστεύσωσίν σοι ὅτι ὦπταί σοι ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν, θεὸς Ἀβραὰμ καὶ θεὸς Ἰσαὰκ καὶ θεὸς Ἰακώβ.

Ut credant, inquit, quod apparúerit tibi Dóminus Deus patrum suórum, Deus Abraham, Deus Isaac, et Deus Iacob.

למען יאמנו כי־נראה אליך יהוה אלהי אבותם אלהי אברהם ואלהי יצחק ואלהי יעקב
5
That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ Κύριος πάλιν Εἰσένεγκον τὴν χεῖρά σου εἰς τὸν κόλπον σου. καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν κόλπον αὐτοῦ · καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐκ τοῦ κόλπου αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐγενήθη ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ χιών.

Dixítque Dóminus rursum: Mitte manum tuam in sinum tuum. Quam cum misísset in sinum, prótulit leprósam instar nivis.

ויאמר יהוה לו עוד הבא־נא ידך בחיקך ויבא ידו בחיקו ויוציאה מחיקו והנה ידו מצרעת כשׁלג

And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand [was] leprous as snow.

καὶ εἶπεν πάλιν Εἰσένεγκον τὴν χεῖρά σου εἰς τὸν κόλπον σου · καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν τὴν χεῖρα εἰς τὸν κόλπον αὐτοῦ · καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν αὐτὴν ἐκ τοῦ κόλπου αὐτοῦ, καὶ πάλιν ἀπεκατέστη εἰς τὴν χρόαν τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτῆς ·

Rétrahe, ait, manum tuam in sinum tuum. Retráxit, et prótulit íterum, et erat símilis carni réliquæ.

ויאמר השׁב ידך אל חיקך וישׁב ידו אל חיקו ויוציאה מחיקו והנה־שׁבה כבשׂרו
7
And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his [other] flesh.

וְהָיָה֙ אִם־לֹ֣א יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ לָ֔ךְ וְלֹ֣א יִשְׁמְע֔וּ לְקֹ֖ל הָאֹ֣ת הָרִאשׁ֑וֹן וְהֶֽאֱמִ֔ינוּ לְקֹ֖ל הָאֹ֥ת הָאַחֲרֽוֹן׃

ἐὰν δὲ μὴ πιστεύσωσίν σοι μηδὲ εἰσακούσωσιν τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ σημείου τοῦ πρώτου, πιστεύσουσίν σοι τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ σημείου τοῦ ἐσχάτου.

Si non credíderint, inquit, tibi, neque audíerint sermónem signi prióris, credent verbo signi sequéntis.

והיה אם־לא יאמנו לך ולא ישׁמעו לקול האות הראישׁון והאמנו לקול האות האחרון
8
And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

וְהָיָ֡ה אִם־לֹ֣א יַאֲמִ֡ינוּ גַּם֩ לִשְׁנֵ֨י הָאֹת֜וֹת הָאֵ֗לֶּה וְלֹ֤א יִשְׁמְעוּן֙ לְקֹלֶ֔ךָ וְלָקַחְתָּ֙ מִמֵּימֵ֣י הַיְאֹ֔ר וְשָׁפַכְתָּ֖ הַיַּבָּשָׁ֑ה וְהָי֤וּ הַמַּ֨יִם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּקַּ֣ח מִן הַ־יְאֹ֔ר וְהָי֥וּ לְדָ֖ם בַּיַּבָּֽשֶׁת׃

καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν μὴ πιστεύσωσίν σοι τοῖς δυσὶ σημείοις τούτοις μηδὲ εἰσακούσωσιν τῆς φωνῆς σου, λήμψῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ ποταμοῦ καὶ ἐκχεεῖς ἐπὶ τὸ ξηρόν, καὶ ἔσται τὸ ὕδωρ ὃ ἐὰν λάβῃς ἀπὸ τοῦ ποταμοῦ αἷμα ἐπὶ τοῦ ξηροῦ.

Quod si nec duóbus quidem his signis credíderint, neque audíerint vocem tuam: sume aquam flúminis, et effúnde eam super áridam, et quidquid háuseris de flúvio, vertétur in sánguinem.

והיה אם־לא יאמנו גם לשׁני האתות האלה ולא ישׁמעו לקולך ולקחת ממימי היאר ושׁפכת היבשׁה והיו המים אשׁר תקח מן היאר יהיו לדם ביבשׁת

And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour [it] upon the dry [land]: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry [land].

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶל־יְהוָה֮ בִּ֣י אֲדֹנָי֒ לֹא֩ אִ֨ישׁ דְּבָרִ֜ים אָנֹ֗כִי גַּ֤ם מִתְּמוֹל֙ גַּ֣ם מִשִּׁלְשֹׁ֔ם גַּ֛ם מֵאָ֥ז דַּבֶּרְךָ אֶל עַבְדֶּ֑־ךָ כִּ֧י כְבַד־פֶּ֛ה וּכְבַ֥ד לָשׁ֖וֹן אָנֹֽכִי׃

Εἶπεν δὲ Μωυσῆς πρὸς Κύριον Δέομαι, Κύριε, οὐχ ἱκανός εἰμι πρὸ τῆς ἐχθὲς οὐδὲ πρὸ τῆς τρίτης ἡμέρας οὐδὲ ἀφ᾽ οὗ ἤρξω λαλεῖν τῷ θεράποντί σου · ἰσχνόφωνος καὶ βραδύγλωσσος ἐγώ εἰμι.

Ait Móyses: Obsecro Dómine, non sum éloquens ab heri et nudiustértius: et ex quo locútus es ad servum tuum, impeditióris et tardióris linguæ sum.

ויאמר משׁה אל־יהוה בי אדני לא אישׁ דברים אנכי גם מתמול גם משׁלשׁום גם מאז דברך אל עבדך כי כבד־פה וכבד לשׁון אנכי

And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I [am] not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I [am] slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלָ֗יו מִ֣י שָׂ֣ם פֶּה֮ לָֽאָדָם֒ א֚וֹ מִֽי־יָשׂ֣וּם אִלֵּ֔ם א֣וֹ חֵרֵ֔שׁ א֥וֹ פִקֵּ֖חַ א֣וֹ עִוֵּ֑ר הֲלֹ֥א אָנֹכִ֖י יְהוָֽה׃

εἶπεν δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Τίς ἔδωκεν στόμα ἀνθρώπῳ, καὶ τίς ἐποίησεν δύσκωφον καὶ κωφόν, βλέποντα καὶ τυφλόν; οὐκ ἐγὼ ὁ θεός;

Dixit Dóminus ad eum: Quis fecit os hóminis? aut quis fabricátus est mutum et surdum, vidéntem et cæcum? nonne ego?

ויאמר יהוה אליו מי שׂם פה לאדם או מי ישׂים אלם או חרשׁ או פקח או עור הלוא אנכי יהוה
11
And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man ’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?

וְעַתָּ֖ה לֵ֑ךְ וְאָנֹכִי֙ אֶֽהְיֶ֣ה עִם פִּ֔י־ךָ וְהוֹרֵיתִ֖יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר תְּדַבֵּֽר׃

καὶ νῦν πορεύου καὶ ἐγὼ ἀνοίξω τὸ στόμα σου, καὶ συμβιβάσω σε ὃ μέλλεις λαλῆσαι.

Perge ígitur, et ego ero in ore tuo: docebóque te quid loquáris.

ועתה לך ואנכי אהיה עם פיך והוריתיך אשׁר תדבר

Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

καὶ εἶπεν Μωυσῆς Δέομαι, Κύριε, προχείρισαι δυνάμενον ἄλλον ὃν ἀποστελεῖς.

At ille: Obsecro, inquit, Dómine, mitte quem missúrus es.

ויאמר בי אדני שׁלח־נא ביד־תשׁלח

And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand [of him whom] thou wilt send.

וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֨ף יְהוָ֜ה בְּמֹשֶׁ֗ה וַיֹּ֨אמֶר֙ הֲלֹ֨א אַהֲרֹ֤ן אָחִ֨יךָ֙ הַלֵּוִ֔י יָדַ֕עְתִּי כִּֽי־דַבֵּ֥ר יְדַבֵּ֖ר ה֑וּא וְגַ֤ם הִנֵּה־הוּא֙ יֹצֵ֣א לִקְרָאתֶ֔ךָ וְרָאֲךָ֖ וְשָׂמַ֥ח בְּלִבּֽוֹ׃

καὶ θυμωθεὶς ὀργῇ Κύριος ἐπὶ Μωυσῆν εἶπεν Οὐκ ἰδοὺ Ἀαρὼν ὁ ἀδελφός σου ὁ Λευείτης; ἐπίσταμαι ὅτι λαλῶν λαλήσει αὐτός σοι · καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς ἐξελεύσεται εἰς συνάντησίν σοι, καὶ ἰδών σε χαρήσεται ἐν ἑαυτῷ.

Irátus Dóminus in Móysen, ait: Aaron frater tuus Levítes, scio quod éloquens sit: ecce ipse egréditur in occúrsum tuum, vidénsque te lætábitur corde.

ויחר־אף יהוה במשׁה ויאמר הלוא אהרן אחיך הלוי ידעתי כי־דבר ידבר הוא וגם הנה־הוא יצא לקראתך וראך ושׂמח בלבבו

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, [Is] not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

וְדִבַּרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֔יו וְשַׂמְתָּ֥ אֶת הַ־דְּבָרִ֖ים בְּפִ֑יו וְאָנֹכִ֗י אֶֽהְיֶ֤ה עִם פִּ֨י־ךָ֙ וְעִם פִּ֔י־הוּ וְהוֹרֵיתִ֣י אֶתְכֶ֔ם אֵ֖ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּעֲשֽׂוּן׃

Lóquere ad eum, et pone verba mea in ore eius: et ego ero in ore tuo, et in ore illíus, et osténdam vobis quid ágere debeátis.

ודברת אליו ושׂמת את הדברים בפיו ואנכי אהיה עם פיך ועם פיו והוריתי אתכם את אשׁר תעשׂון

And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

וְדִבֶּר־ה֥וּא לְךָ֖ אֶל הָ־עָ֑ם וְהָ֤יָה הוּא֙ יִֽהְיֶה לְּ־ךָ֣ לְפֶ֔ה וְאַתָּ֖ה תִּֽהְיֶה לּ֥־וֹ לֵֽאלֹהִֽים׃

καὶ αὐτός σοι λαλήσει πρὸς τὸν λαόν, καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται σου στόμα · σὺ δὲ αὐτῷ ἔσῃ τὰ πρὸς τὸν θεόν.

Ipse loquétur pro te ad pópulum, et erit os tuum: tu autem eris ei in his quæ ad Deum pértinent.

ודבר־הוא לך אל העם והיה הוא יהיה לך לפה ואתה תהיה לו לאלהים
16
And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, [even] he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

וְאֶת הַ־מַּטֶּ֥ה הַזֶּ֖ה תִּקַּ֣ח בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּעֲשֶׂה בּ֖־וֹ אֶת הָ־אֹתֹֽת׃ פ

καὶ τὴν ῥάβδον ταύτην τὴν στραφεῖσαν εἰς ὄφιν λήμψῃ ἐν τῇ χειρί σου, ἐν ᾗ ποιήσεις ἐν αὐτῇ τὰ σημεῖα.

Virgam quoque hanc sume in manu tua, in qua factúrus es signa.

ואת המטה הזה תקח בידך אשׁר תעשׂה בו את האתות

And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ מֹשֶׁ֜ה וַיָּ֣שָׁב ׀ אֶל־יֶ֣תֶר חֹֽתְנ֗וֹ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ אֵ֣לֲכָה נָּ֗א וְאָשׁ֨וּבָה֙ אֶל אַחַ֣־י אֲשֶׁר בְּ־מִצְרַ֔יִם וְאֶרְאֶ֖ה הַעוֹדָ֣ם חַיִּ֑ים וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יִתְר֛וֹ לְמֹשֶׁ֖ה לֵ֥ךְ לְשָׁלֽוֹם׃

Ἐπορεύθη δὲ Μωυσῆς καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν πρὸς Ἰοθὸρ τὸν γαμβρὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ λέγει Πορεύσομαι καὶ ἀποστρέψω πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφούς μου τοὺς ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ, καὶ ὄψομαι εἰ ἔτι ζῶσιν. καὶ εἶπεν Ἰοθὸρ Μωυσῇ Βάδιζε ὑγιαίνων. μετὰ δὲ τὰς ἡμέρας τὰς πολλὰς ἐκείνας ἐτελεύτησεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου.

Abiit Móyses, et revérsus est ad Iethro sócerum suum, dixítque ei: Vadam et revértar ad fratres meos in Ægýptum, ut vídeam si adhuc vivant. Cui ait Iethro: Vade in pace.

וילך משׁה וישׁב אל יתרו חתנו ויאמר לו אלכה נא ואשׁובה אל אחי אשׁר במצרים ואראה העודם חיים ויאמר יתרו למשׁה לך לשׁלום

And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which [are] in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֤ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֙ בְּמִדְיָ֔ן לֵ֖ךְ שֻׁ֣ב מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּי־מֵ֨תוּ֙ כָּל הָ֣־אֲנָשִׁ֔ים הַֽמְבַקְשִׁ֖ים אֶת נַפְשֶֽׁ־ךָ׃
