וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ אֵלָ֜יו אִ֣ישׁ אֶפְרַ֗יִם מָֽה הַ־דָּבָ֤ר הַזֶּה֙ עָשִׂ֣יתָ לָּ֔נוּ לְבִלְתִּי֙ קְרֹ֣אות לָ֔נוּ כִּ֥י הָלַ֖כְתָּ לְהִלָּחֵ֣ם בְּמִדְיָ֑ן וַיְרִיב֥וּן אִתּ֖וֹ בְּחָזְקָֽה׃

καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς Γεδεὼν ἀνὴρ Ἐφράιμ Τί τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο ἐποίησας ἡμῖν τοῦ μὴ καλέσαι ἡμᾶς ὅτε ἐπορεύθης παρατάξασθαι ἐν Μαδιάμ; καὶ διελέξαντο πρὸς αὐτὸν ἰσχυρῶς.

Dixerúntque ad eum viri Ephraim: Quid est hoc quod fácere voluísti, ut nos non vocáres, cum ad pugnam pérgeres contra Mádian? iurgántes fórtiter, et prope vim inferéntes.

And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם מֶה־עָשִׂ֥יתִי עַתָּ֖ה כָּכֶ֑ם הֲל֗וֹא ט֛וֹב עֹלְל֥וֹת אֶפְרַ֖יִם מִבְצִ֥יר אֲבִיעֶֽזֶר׃

καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Τί ἐποίησα νῦν καθὼς ὑμεῖς; οὐχὶ κρεῖσσον ἐπιφυλλὶς Ἐφράιμ τρυγητὸς Ἀβιέζερ.

Quibus ille respóndit: Quid enim tale fácere pótui, quale vos fecístis? nonne mélior est racémus Ephraim, vindémiis Abiézer?

בְּיֶדְכֶם֩ נָתַ֨ן אֱלֹהִ֜ים אֶת־שָׂרֵ֤י מִדְיָן֙ אֶת־עֹרֵ֣ב וְאֶת־זְאֵ֔ב וּמַה־יָּכֹ֖לְתִּי עֲשׂ֣וֹת כָּכֶ֑ם אָ֗ז רָפְתָ֤ה רוּחָם֙ מֵֽעָלָ֔יו בְּדַבְּר֖וֹ הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃

ἐν χειρὶ ὑμῶν παρέδωκεν Κύριος τοὺς ἄρχοντας Μαδιάμ, τὸν Ὠρὴβ καὶ τὸν Ζήβ · καὶ τί ἠδυνήθην ποιῆσαι ὡς ὑμεῖς; τότε ἀνέθη τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτῶν ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ λαλῆσαι αὐτὸν τὸν λόγον τοῦτον.

וְזֶ֨בַח וְצַלְמֻנָּ֜ע בַּקַּרְקֹ֗ר וּמַחֲנֵיהֶ֤ם עִמָּם֙ כַּחֲמֵ֤שֶׁת עָשָׂר֙ אֶ֔לֶף כֹּ֚ל הַנּ֣וֹתָרִ֔ים מִכֹּ֖ל מַחֲנֵ֣ה בְנֵי־קֶ֑דֶם וְהַנֹּ֣פְלִ֔ים מֵאָ֨ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים אֶ֛לֶף אִ֖ישׁ שֹׁ֥לֵֽף חָֽרֶב׃

Καὶ Ζέβεε καὶ Σελμανὰ ἐν Καρκάρ, καὶ παρεμβολὴ αὐτῶν μετ᾽ αὐτῶν ὡσεὶ δέκα πέντε χιλιάδες, πάντες οἱ καταλελιμμένοι ἀπὸ πάσης παρεμβολῆς ἀλλοφύλων · καὶ οἱ πεπτωκότες ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι χιλιάδες ἀνδρῶν σπωμένων ῥομφαίαν.

Zébee autem et Sálmana requiescébant cum omni exércitu suo. Quíndecim enim míllia viri remánserant ex ómnibus turmis orientálium populórum, cæsis centum vigínti míllibus bellatórum educéntium gládium.

καὶ εἶπεν Γεδεών Ἀδελφοί μου καὶ υἱοὶ τῆς μητρός μου ἦσαν · ζῇ Κύριος, εἰ ἐζωογονήκειτε αὐτούς, οὐκ ἂν ἀπέκτεινα ὑμᾶς.

καὶ εἶπεν Ζέβεε καὶ Σελμανά Ἀνάστα σὺ καὶ συνάντησον ἡμῖν, ὅτι ὡς ἀνδρὸς δύναμίς σου. καὶ ἀνέστη Γεδεὼν καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν τὸν Ζέβεε καὶ τὸν Σαλμανά, καὶ ἔλαβεν τοὺς μηνίσκους τοὺς ἐν τοῖς τραχήλοις τῶν καμήλων αὐτῶν.
