וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ אֲבִימֶ֤לֶךְ בֶּן־יְרֻבַּ֨עַל֙ שְׁכֶ֔מָה אֶל־אֲחֵ֖י אִמּ֑וֹ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וְאֶל־כָּל־מִשְׁפַּ֛חַת בֵּית־אֲבִ֥י אִמּ֖וֹ לֵאמֹֽר׃

Καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ἀβειμέλεχ υἱὸς Ἰεροβάαλ εἰς Συχὲμ πρὸς ἀδελφοὺς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ πρὸς πᾶσαν συγγενίαν οἴκου πατρὸς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ λέγων

Abiit autem Abímelech fílius Ieróbaal in Sichem ad fratres matris suæ, et locútus est ad eos, et ad omnem cognatiónem domus patris matris suæ, dicens:

And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother ’s brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother ’s father, saying,

Λαλήσατε δὴ ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν πάντων τῶν ἀνδρῶν Συχέμ Τί τὸ ἀγαθὸν ὑμῖν, κυριεῦσαι ὑμῶν ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας, πάντας υἱοὺς Ἰεροβάαλ, κυριεύειν ὑμῶν ἄνδρα ἕνα; καὶ μνήσθητε ὅτι ὀστοῦν ὑμῶν καὶ σὰρξ ὑμῶν εἰμι.

Loquímini ad omnes viros Sichem: Quid vobis est mélius, ut dominéntur vestri septuagínta viri omnes fílii Ieróbaal, an ut dominétur unus vir? simúlque consideráte quod os vestrum, et caro vestra sum.

καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτῷ ἑβδομήκοντα ἀργυρίου ἐξ οἴκου Βααλβερίθ · καὶ ἐμισθώσατο ἑαυτῷ Ἀβειμέλεχ ἄνδρας κενοὺς καὶ δειλούς, καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ.

Dederúntque illi septuagínta pondo argénti de fano Baálberit. Qui condúxit sibi ex eo viros ínopes et vagos, secutíque sunt eum.

Καὶ συνήχθησαν πάντες ἄνδρες Σικίμων καὶ πᾶς οἶκος Βηθμααλών, καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν τὸν Ἀβειμέλεχ πρὸς τῇ βαλάνῳ τῇ εὑρετῇ τῆς στάσεως τῆς ἐν Σικίμοις.

καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἐλαία Μὴ ἀπολείψασα τὴν πιότητά μου, ἐν δοξάσουσι τὸν θεὸν ἄνδρες, πορεύσομαι κινεῖσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ξύλων;

καὶ εἶπεν ῥάμνος πρὸς τὰ ξύλα Εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ χρίετέ με ὑμεῖς τοῦ βασιλεύειν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς, δεῦτε ὑπόστητε ἐν τῇ σκιᾷ μου · καὶ εἰ μή, ἐξέλθῃ πῦρ ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ καταφάγῃ τὰς κέδρους τοῦ Λιβάνου.

Quæ respóndit eis: Si vere me regem vobis constitúitis, veníte, et sub umbra mea requiéscite: si autem non vultis, egrediátur ignis de rhamno, et dévoret cedros Líbani.

וְעַתָּ֗ה אִם בֶּ־אֱמֶ֤ת וּבְתָמִים֙ עֲשִׂיתֶ֔ם וַתַּמְלִ֖יכוּ אֶת־אֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ וְאִם־טוֹבָ֤ה עֲשִׂיתֶם֙ עִם־יְרֻבַּ֣עַל וְעִם בֵּית֔־וֹ וְאִם כִּ־גְמ֥וּל יָדָ֖יו עֲשִׂ֥יתֶם לֽוֹ׃

καὶ νῦν εἰ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ καὶ τελειότητι ἐποιήσατε καὶ ἐβασιλεύσατε τὸν Ἀβειμέλεχ, καὶ εἰ ἀγαθωσύνην ἐποιήσατε μετὰ Ἰεροβάαλ καὶ μετὰ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ, καὶ εἰ ὡς ἀνταπόδοσις χειρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐποιήσατε αὐτῷ ·

καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐπανέστητε ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρός μου σήμερον καὶ ἀπεκτείνατε τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρας ἐπὶ λίθον ἕνα, καὶ ἐβασιλεύσατε τὸν Ἀβειμέλεχ υἱὸν παιδίσκης αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἄνδρας Σικίμων, ὅτι ἀδελφὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν ·
