אֱמֹ֨ר אֶל־אֶלְעָזָ֜ר בֶּן־אַהֲרֹ֣ן הַכֹּהֵ֗ן וְיָרֵ֤ם אֶת הַ־מַּחְתֹּת֙ מִבֵּ֣ין הַשְּׂרֵפָ֔ה וְאֶת הָ־אֵ֖שׁ זְרֵה־הָ֑לְאָה כִּ֖י קָדֵֽשׁוּ׃

Λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραήλ, καὶ λάβε παρ᾽ αὐτῶν ῥάβδον, ῥάβδον κατ᾽ οἴκους πατριῶν παρὰ πάντων τῶν ἀρχόντων αὐτῶν, κατ᾽ οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν, δώδεκα ῥάβδους · καὶ ἑκάστου τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐπίγραψον ἐπὶ τῆς ῥάβδου

אֵ֡ת מַחְתּוֹת֩ הַֽחַטָּאִ֨ים הָאֵ֜לֶּה בְּנַפְשֹׁתָ֗ם וְעָשׂ֨וּ אֹתָ֜ם רִקֻּעֵ֤י פַחִים֙ צִפּ֣וּי לַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ כִּֽי הִקְרִיבֻ֥־ם לִפְנֵֽי־יְהוָ֖ה וַיִּקְדָּ֑שׁוּ וְיִֽהְי֥וּ לְא֖וֹת לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

καὶ τὸ ὄνομα Ἀαρὼν ἐπίγραψον ἐπὶ τῆς ῥάβδου Λευεί · ἔστιν γὰρ ῥάβδος μία, κατὰ φυλὴν οἴκου πατριῶν αὐτῶν δώσουσιν

in mórtibus peccatórum: producátque ea in láminas, et affígat altári, eo quod oblátum sit in eis incénsum Dómino, et sanctificáta sint, ut cernant ea pro signo et moniménto fílii Israel.

את מחתות החטאים האלה בנפשׁותם ועשׂו אתם רקועי פחים צפואי למזבח כי הקריבום לפני־יהוה ויקדשׁו והיו לאות לבני ישׂראל

The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates [for] a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.

זִכָּר֞וֹן לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לְ֠מַעַן אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא־יִקְרַ֜ב אִ֣ישׁ זָ֗ר אֲ֠שֶׁר לֹ֣א מִזֶּ֤רַע אַהֲרֹן֙ ה֔וּא לְהַקְטִ֥יר קְטֹ֖רֶת לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֤ה כְקֹ֨רַח֙ וְכַ֣עֲדָת֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁ֖ה לֽוֹ׃

καὶ ἔσται ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃν ἐὰν ἐκλέξωμαι αὐτόν, ἡ ῥάβδος αὐτοῦ ἐκβλαστήσει · καὶ περιελῶ ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὸν γογγυσμὸν τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, ἃ αὐτοὶ γογγύζουσιν ἐφ᾽ ὑμῖν

ut habérent póstea fílii Israel, quibus commoneréntur ne quis accédat alienígena, et qui non est de sémine Aaron ad offeréndum incénsum Dómino, ne patiátur sicut passus est Core, et omnis congregátio eius, loquénte Dómino ad Móysen.

זכרון לבני ישׂראל למען אשׁר לא־יקרב אישׁ זר אשׁר לא מזרע אהרן הוא להקטיר קטרת לפני יהוה ולא־יהיה כקרח וכעדתו כאשׁר דבר יהוה ביד־משׁה לו

[To be] a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which [is] not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.

וַיִּלֹּ֜נוּ כָּל־עֲדַ֤ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת עַל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה וְעַֽל־אַהֲרֹ֖ן לֵאמֹ֑ר אַתֶּ֥ם הֲמִתֶּ֖ם אֶת־עַ֥ם יְהוָֽה׃

Murmurávit autem omnis multitúdo filiórum Israel sequénti die contra Móysen et Aaron, dicens: Vos interfecístis pópulum Dómini.

But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD.

καὶ ἀπέθηκεν Μωυσῆς τὰς ῥάβδους ἔναντι Κυρίου ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου

Cumque orirétur sedítio, et tumúltus incrésceret,

ויהי בהקהל העדה על־משׁה ועל־אהרן ויפנו אל־אהל מועד והנה כסהו הענן ויראה כבוד יהוה

And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.

καὶ εἶπεν Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Ἀπόθες τὴν ῥάβδον Ἀαρὼν ἐνώπιον τῶν μαρτυρίων εἰς διατήρησιν, σημεῖον τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνηκόων · καὶ παυσάσθω ὁ γογγυσμὸς αὐτῶν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνωσιν

Recédite de médio huius multitúdinis, étiam nunc delébo eos. Cumque iacérent in terra,

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֗ן קַ֣ח אֶת הַ֠־מַּחְתָּה וְתֶן עָלֶ֨י־הָ אֵ֜שׁ מֵעַ֤ל הַמִּזְבֵּ֨חַ֙ וְשִׂ֣ים קְטֹ֔רֶת וְהוֹלֵ֧ךְ מְהֵרָ֛ה אֶל הָ־עֵדָ֖ה וְכַפֵּ֣ר עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם כִּֽי־יָצָ֥א הַקֶּ֛צֶף מִלִּפְנֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה הֵחֵ֥ל הַנָּֽגֶף׃

καὶ ἐποίησεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ἀαρὼν καθὰ συνέταξεν κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ, οὕτως ἐποίησαν

dixit Móyses ad Aaron: Tolle thuríbulum, et hausto igne de altári, mitte incénsum désuper, pergens cito ad pópulum, ut roges pro eis: iam enim egréssa est ira a Dómino, et plaga desǽvit.

ויאמר משׁה אל־אהרן קח את המחתה ותן עליה אשׁ מעל המזבח ושׂים קטרת והלך מהר אל העדה וכפר עליהם כי־יצא הקצף מלפני יהוה החל הנגף

And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.
