וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֤יד הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ לְכָל הַ־קָּהָ֔ל שְׁלֹמֹ֨ה בְנִ֥י אֶחָ֛ד בָּֽחַר בּ֥־וֹ אֱלֹהִ֖ים נַ֣עַר וָרָ֑ךְ וְהַמְּלָאכָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה כִּ֣י לֹ֤א לְאָדָם֙ הַבִּירָ֔ה כִּ֖י לַיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהִֽים׃

Καὶ εἶπεν Δαυεὶδ ὁ βασιλεὺς πάσῃ τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ Σαλωμὼν ὁ υἱός μου εἷς ὃν ᾑρέτικεν ἐν αὐτῷ Κύριος νέος καὶ ἁπαλός καὶ τὸ ἔργον μέγα ὅτι οὐκ ἀνθρώπῳ ἀλλ᾽ ἢ Κυρίῳ θεῷ.

וּֽכְכָל כֹּחִ֞־י הֲכִינ֣וֹתִי לְבֵית אֱלֹהַ֗־י הַזָּהָ֣ב ׀ לַ֠זָּהָב וְהַכֶּ֨סֶף לַכֶּ֜סֶף וְהַנְּחֹ֣שֶׁת לַנְּחֹ֗שֶׁת הַבַּרְזֶל֙ לַבַּרְזֶ֔ל וְהָעֵצִ֖ים לָעֵצִ֑ים אַבְנֵי־שֹׁ֨הַם וּמִלּוּאִ֜ים אַבְנֵי־פ֣וּךְ וְרִקְמָ֗ה וְכֹ֨ל אֶ֧בֶן יְקָרָ֛ה וְאַבְנֵי־שַׁ֖יִשׁ לָרֹֽב׃

κατὰ πᾶσαν τὴν δύναμιν ἡτοίμακα εἰς οἶκον θεοῦ μου χρυσίον, ἀργύριον, χαλκόν, σίδηρον, ξύλα, λίθους σόομ καὶ πληρώσεως καὶ λίθους πολυτελεῖς καὶ ποικίλους, καὶ πάντα λίθον τίμιον, πάριον πολύ.

Ego autem totis víribus meis præparávi impénsas domus Dei mei. Aurum ad vasa áurea, et argéntum in argéntea, æs in ǽnea, ferrum in férrea, ligna ad lígnea: et lápides onýchinos, et quasi stíbinos, et diversórum colórum, omnémque pretiósum lápidem, et marmor Párium abundantíssime:

Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for [things to be made] of gold, and the silver for [things] of silver, and the brass for [things] of brass, the iron for [things] of iron, and wood for [things] of wood; onyx stones, and [stones] to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

וְע֗וֹד בִּרְצוֹתִי֙ בְּבֵ֣ית אֱלֹהַ֔י יֶשׁ לִ֥־י סְגֻלָּ֖ה זָהָ֣ב וָכָ֑סֶף נָתַ֤תִּי לְבֵית אֱלֹהַ־י֙ לְמַ֔עְלָה מִכָּל־הֲכִינ֖וֹתִי לְבֵ֥ית הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃

καὶ ἔτι ἐν τῷ εὐδοκῆσαί με ἐν οἴκῳ θεοῦ μου ἔστιν μοι ὃ περιπεποίημαι χρυσίον καὶ ἀργύριον, καὶ ἰδοὺ δέδωκα εἰς οἶκον θεοῦ μου εἰς ὕψος, ἐκτὸς ὧν ἡτοίμακα εἰς τὸν οἶκον τῶν ἁγίων,

διὰ χειρὸς τεχνιτῶν. καὶ τίς ὁ προθυμούμενος πληρῶσαι τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ σήμερον Κυρίῳ;

Et ubicúmque opus est aurum de auro, et ubicúmque opus est argéntum de argénto, ópera fiant per manus artíficum: et si quis sponte offert, ímpleat manum suam hódie, et ófferat quod volúerit Dómino.

σύ Κύριε, ἡ μεγαλωσύνη καὶ ἡ δύναμις καὶ τὸ καύχημα καὶ ἡ νίκη καὶ ἡ ἰσχύς, ὅτι σὺ πάντων τῶν ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς δεσπόζεις · ἀπὸ προσώπου σου ταράσσεται πᾶς βασιλεὺς καὶ ἔθνος.

καὶ ἔγνων Κύριε, ὅτι σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐτάζων καρδίας, καὶ δικαιοσύνην ἀγαπᾷς. ἐν ἁπλότητι καρδίας προεθυμήθην πάντα ταῦτα, καὶ νῦν τὸν λαόν σου τὸν εὑρεθέντα ὧδε εἶδον ἐν εὐφροσύνῃ προθυμηθέντα σοι.
