לֹא־תִזְבַּח֩ לַיהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ שׁ֣וֹר וָשֶׂ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִהְיֶ֥ה בוֹ֙ מ֔וּם כֹּ֖ל דָּבָ֣ר רָ֑ע כִּ֧י תוֹעֲבַ֛ת יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ הֽוּא׃ ס

Οὐ θύσεις Κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου μόσχον ἢ πρόβατον ἐν ᾧ ἐστιν ἐν αὐτῷ μῶμος, πᾶν ῥῆμα πονηρόν, ὅτι βδέλυγμα Κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σού ἐστιν.

Non immolábis Dómino Deo tuo ovem, et bovem, in quo est mácula, aut quíppiam vítii: quia abominátio est Dómino Deo tuo.

לא־תזבח ליהוה אלהיך שׁור ושׂה אשׁר יהיה בו מום כל דבר רע כי תועבת יהוה אלהיך הוא

Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God [any] bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, [or] any evilfavouredness: for that [is] an abomination unto the LORD thy God.

כִּֽי־יִמָּצֵ֤א בְקִרְבְּךָ֙ בְּאַחַ֣ד שְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁר־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ נֹתֵ֣ן לָ֑ךְ אִ֣ישׁ אוֹ־אִשָּׁ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יַעֲשֶׂ֧ה אֶת הָ־רַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה אֱלֹהֶ֖י־ךָ לַעֲבֹ֥ר בְּרִיתֽוֹ׃

Ἐὰν δὲ εὑρεθῇ ἐν μιᾷ τῶν πόλεών σου, ὧν Κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι, ἀνὴρ ἢ γυνὴ ὃς ποιήσει τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου, παρελθεῖν τὴν διαθήκην αὐτοῦ,

Cum repérti fúerint apud te intra unam portárum tuárum, quas Dóminus Deus tuus dabit tibi, vir aut múlier qui fáciant malum in conspéctu Dómini Dei tui, et transgrediántur pactum illíus,

כי־ימצא בקרבך באחת שׁעריך אשׁר־יהוה אלהיך נתן לך אישׁ או־אשׁה אשׁר יעשׂה את הרע בעיני יהוה אלהיך לעבר בריתו

If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ וַֽיַּעֲבֹד֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ לָהֶ֑ם וְלַשֶּׁ֣מֶשׁ ׀ א֣וֹ לַיָּרֵ֗חַ א֛וֹ לְכָל־צְבָ֥א הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־צִוִּֽיתִי׃

καὶ ἐλθόντες λατρεύσωσιν θεοῖς ἑτέροις καὶ προσκυνήσουσιν αὐτοῖς, τῷ ἡλίῳ ἢ τῇ σελήνῃ ἢ παντὶ τῶν ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἃ οὐ προσέταξεν,

ut vadant et sérviant diis aliénis, et adórent eos, solem et lunam, et omnem milítiam cæli, quæ non præcépi:

וילך ויעבד אלהים אחרים וישׁתחוי להם ולשׁמשׁ או לירח או לכל־צבא השׁמים אשׁר לא צויתיו
3
And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

וְהֻֽגַּד לְ־ךָ֖ וְשָׁמָ֑עְתָּ וְדָרַשְׁתָּ֣ הֵיטֵ֔ב וְהִנֵּ֤ה אֱמֶת֙ נָכ֣וֹן הַדָּבָ֔ר נֶעֶשְׂתָ֛ה הַתּוֹעֵבָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

καὶ ἀναγγελῇ σοι · καὶ ἐκζητήσεις σφόδρα, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀληθῶς γέγονεν τὸ ῥῆμα, γεγένηται τὸ βδέλυγμα τοῦτο ἐν Ἰσραήλ ·

et hoc tibi fúerit nuntiátum, audiénsque inquisíeris diligénter et verum esse repéreris, et abominátio facta est in Israel:

והגידו לך ושׁמעת ודרשׁת הייטב והנה אמת נכון הדבר נעשׂתה התועבה הזאת בישׂראל

And it be told thee, and thou hast heard [of it], and inquired diligently, and, behold, [it be] true, [and] the thing certain, [that] such abomination is wrought in Israel:

וְהֽוֹצֵאתָ֣ אֶת הָ־אִ֣ישׁ הַה֡וּא אוֹ֩ אֶת הָ־אִשָּׁ֨ה הַהִ֜וא אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָ֠שׂוּ אֶת הַ־דָּבָ֨ר הָרָ֤ע הַזֶּה֙ אֶל שְׁעָרֶ֔י־ךָ אֶת הָ־אִ֕ישׁ א֖וֹ אֶת הָ־אִשָּׁ֑ה וּסְקַלְתָּ֥ם בָּאֲבָנִ֖ים וָמֵֽתוּ׃

καὶ ἐξαρεῖς τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐκεῖνον ἢ τὴν γυναῖκα ἐκείνην, καὶ λιθοβολήσετε αὐτοὺς ἐν λίθοις, καὶ τελευτήσουσιν.

edúces virum ac mulíerem, qui rem sceleratíssimam perpetrárunt, ad portas civitátis tuæ, et lapídibus obruéntur.

והוצאת את האישׁ ההוא או את האשׁה ההיא אשׁר עשׂו את הדבר הרע הזה אל שׁעריך את האישׁ או את האשׁה וסקלתם באבנים ומתו
5
Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, [even] that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

עַל־פִּ֣י ׀ שְׁנַ֣יִם עֵדִ֗ים א֛וֹ שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה עֵדִ֖ים יוּמַ֣ת הַמֵּ֑ת לֹ֣א יוּמַ֔ת עַל־פִּ֖י עֵ֥ד אֶחָֽד׃

ἐπὶ δυσὶν μάρτυσιν ἢ ἐπὶ τρισὶν μάρτυσιν ἀποθανεῖται ὁ ἀποθνήσκων · οὐκ ἀποθανεῖται ἐφ᾽ ἑνὶ μάρτυρι.

In ore duórum, aut trium téstium períbit qui interficiétur. Nemo occidátur, uno contra se dicénte testimónium.

6
At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; [but] at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

καὶ ἡ χεὶρ τῶν μαρτύρων ἔσται ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ ἐν πρώτοις θανατῶσαι αὐτόν, καὶ ἡ χεὶρ τοῦ λαοῦ ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτων · καὶ ἐξαρεῖς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν.

Manus téstium prima interfíciet eum, et manus réliqui pópuli extréma mittétur: ut áuferas malum de médio tui.

יד העדים תהיה בו בראישׁונה להמיתו ויד כל העם באחרנה ובערת הרע מקרבך
7
The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

כִּ֣י יִפָּלֵא֩ מִמְּךָ֨ דָבָ֜ר לַמִּשְׁפָּ֗ט בֵּֽין־דָּ֨ם ׀ לְדָ֜ם בֵּֽין־דִּ֣ין לְדִ֗ין וּבֵ֥ין נֶ֨גַע֙ לָנֶ֔גַע דִּבְרֵ֥י רִיבֹ֖ת בִּשְׁעָרֶ֑יךָ וְקַמְתָּ֣ וְעָלִ֔יתָ אֶל הַ־מָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִבְחַ֛ר יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ בּֽוֹ׃

Ἐὰν δὲ ἀδυνατήσῃ ἀπὸ σοῦ ῥῆμα ἐν κρίσει ἀνὰ μέσον αἷμα αἵματος, καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον κρίσις κρίσεως, καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἁφὴ ἁφῆς, καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἀντιλογία ἀντιλογίας, ῥήματα κρίσεως ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν ὑμῶν · καὶ ἀναστὰς ἀναβήσῃ εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐκεῖ,

Si diffícile et ambíguum apud te iudícium esse perspéxeris inter sánguinem et sánguinem, causam et causam, lepram et lepram: et iúdicum intra portas tuas víderis verba variári: surge, et ascénde ad locum, quem elégerit Dóminus Deus tuus.

כי יפלא ממך דבר למשׁפט בין־דם לדם ובין־דין לדין ובין נגע לנגע דברי ריבות בשׁעריך וקמת ועלית אל המקום אשׁר בחר יהוה אלהיך
8
If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, [being] matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;

וּבָאתָ֗ אֶל הַ־כֹּהֲנִים֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם וְאֶל הַ־שֹּׁפֵ֔ט אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִהְיֶ֖ה בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֑ם וְדָרַשְׁתָּ֙ וְהִגִּ֣ידוּ לְךָ֔ אֵ֖ת דְּבַ֥ר הַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃

καὶ ἐλεύσῃ πρὸς τὸν κριτὴν ὃς ἂν γένηται ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, καὶ ἐκζητήσαντες ἀναγγελοῦσίν σοι τὴν κρίσιν.

Veniésque ad sacerdótes Levítici géneris, et ad iúdicem, qui fúerit illo témpore: quærésque ab eis, qui indicábunt tibi iudícii veritátem.

ובאת אל הכהנים הלוים ואל השׁופט אשׁר יהיה בימים ההם ודרשׁו והגידו לך את דבר המשׁפט

And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and inquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:

וְעָשִׂ֗יתָ עַל־פִּ֤י הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יַגִּ֣ידֽוּ לְךָ֔ מִן הַ־מָּק֣וֹם הַה֔וּא אֲשֶׁ֖ר יִבְחַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֣ לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יוֹרֽוּךָ׃

καὶ ποιήσεις κατὰ τὸ πρᾶγμα ὃ ἐὰν ἀναγγείλωσίν σοι ἐκ τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ θεός σου, καὶ φυλάξῃ ποιῆσαι πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν νομοθετηθῇ σοι ·

Et fácies quodcúmque díxerint qui præsunt loco, quem elégerit Dóminus, et docúerint te

ועשׂית על־פי הדבר אשׁר יגידו לך מן המקום ההוא אשׁר בחר יהוה אלהיך ושׁמרת לעשׂות ככל אשׁר יורוך

And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:

עַל־פִּ֨י הַתּוֹרָ֜ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר יוֹר֗וּךָ וְעַל הַ־מִּשְׁפָּ֛ט אֲשֶׁר־יֹאמְר֥וּ לְךָ֖ תַּעֲשֶׂ֑ה לֹ֣א תָס֗וּר מִן הַ־דָּבָ֛ר אֲשֶׁר־יַגִּ֥ידֽוּ לְךָ֖ יָמִ֥ין וּשְׂמֹֽאל׃

κατὰ τὸν νόμον καὶ κατὰ τὴν κρίσιν ἣν ἂν εἴπωσίν σοι ποιήσεις, οὐκ ἐκκλινεῖς ἀπὸ τοῦ ῥήματος οὗ ἐὰν ἀναγγείλωσίν σοι δεξιὰ οὐδὲ ἀριστερά.

iuxta legem eius: sequerísque senténtiam eórum: nec declinábis ad déxteram neque ad sinístram.

על־פי התורה אשׁר יורוך ועל־פי המשׁפט אשׁר־יאמרו לך תעשׂה ולא תסור מן הדבר אשׁר־יגידו לך ימין ושׂמאל

According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, [to] the right hand, nor [to] the left.

וְהָאִ֞ישׁ אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה בְזָד֗וֹן לְבִלְתִּ֨י שְׁמֹ֤עַ אֶל הַ־כֹּהֵן֙ הָעֹמֵ֞ד לְשָׁ֤רֶת שָׁם֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ א֖וֹ אֶל הַ־שֹּׁפֵ֑ט וּמֵת֙ הָאִ֣ישׁ הַה֔וּא וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ הָרָ֖ע מִיִּשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἂν ποιήσῃ ἐν ὑπερηφανίᾳ ὥστε μὴ ὑπακοῦσαι τοῦ ἱερέως τοῦ παρεστηκότος λειτουργεῖν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου, ἢ τοῦ κριτοῦ ὃς ἂν ᾖ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, καὶ ἀποθανεῖται ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος, καὶ ἐξαρεῖς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ Ἰσραήλ ·

Qui autem superbíerit, nolens obedíre sacerdótis império, qui eo témpore minístrat Dómino Deo tuo, et decréto iúdicis, moriétur homo ille, et áuferes malum de Israel:

והאישׁ אשׁר־יעשׂה בזדון לבלתי שׁמע אל הכהן העמד לשׁרת שׁם את־יהוה אלהיך או אל השׁופט ומת האישׁ ההוא ובערת הרע מישׂראל
12
And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀκούσας φοβηθήσεται καὶ οὐκ ἀσεβήσει ἔτι.

cunctúsque pópulus áudiens timébit, ut nullus deínceps intuméscat supérbia.

And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

כִּֽי־תָבֹ֣א אֶל הָ־אָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ֙ נֹתֵ֣ן לָ֔ךְ וִֽירִשְׁתָּ֖הּ וְיָשַׁ֣בְתָּה בָּ֑הּ וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ אָשִׂ֤ימָה עָלַי֙ מֶ֔לֶךְ כְּכָל הַ־גּוֹיִ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר סְבִיבֹתָֽי׃

Ἐὰν δὲ εἰσέλθῃς εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν Κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι, καὶ κληρονομήσῃς αὐτὴν καὶ κατοικήσῃς ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν, καὶ εἴπῃς Καταστήσω ἐπ᾽ ἐμαυτὸν ἄρχοντα καθὰ καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ ἔθνη τὰ κύκλῳ μου ·

Cum ingréssus fúeris terram, quam Dóminus Deus tuus dabit tibi, et posséderis eam, habitaverísque in illa, et díxeris: Constítuam super me regem, sicut habent omnes per circúitum natiónes:

כי תבוא אל הארץ אשׁר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך וירשׁת וישׁבת בה ואמרת אשׂימה עלי מלך ככל הגוים אשׁר סביבתי
14
When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that [are] about me;

καθιστῶν καταστήσεις ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν ἄρχοντα ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται Κύριος ὁ θεὸς αὐτόν. ἐκ τῶν ἀδελφῶν σου καταστήσεις ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν ἄρχοντα · οὐ δυνήσῃ καταστῆσαι ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν ἄνθρωπον ἀλλότριον, ὅτι οὐκ ἀδελφός σού ἐστιν.

eum constítues, quem Dóminus Deus tuus elégerit de número fratrum tuórum. Non póteris altérius gentis hóminem regem fácere, qui non sit frater tuus.

שׂים תשׂים עליך מלך אשׁר יבחר יהוה אלהיך בו מקרב אחיך תשׂים עליך מלך לא תוכל לתת עליך אישׁ נכרי אשׁר לא אחיך הוא
15
Thou shalt in any wise set [him] king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: [one] from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which [is] not thy brother.

διότι οὐ πληθυνεῖ ἑαυτῷ ἵππον, οὐδὲ μὴ ἀποστρέψῃ τὸν λαὸν εἰς Αἴγυπτον, ὅπως μὴ πληθύνῃ αὐτῷ ἵππον · ὁ δὲ κύριος εἶπεν Οὐ προσθήσετε ἀποστρέψαι τῇ ὁδῷ ταύτῃ ἔτι.

Cumque fúerit constitútus, non multiplicábit sibi equos, nec redúcet pópulum in Ægýptum, equitátus número sublevátus, præsértim cum Dóminus præcéperit vobis ut nequáquam ámplius per eámdem viam revertámini.

But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

καὶ οὐ πληθυνεῖ ἑαυτῷ γυναῖκας, οὐδὲ μεταστήσεται αὐτοῦ ἡ καρδία · καὶ ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον οὐ πληθυνεῖ ἑαυτῷ σφόδρα.

Non habébit uxóres plúrimas, quæ allíciant ánimum eius, neque argénti et auri imménsa póndera.

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

Postquam autem séderit in sólio regni sui, descríbet sibi Deuteronómium legis huius in volúmine, accípiens exémplar a sacerdótibus Levíticæ tribus,

And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of [that which is] before the priests the Levites:

καὶ ἔσται μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀναγνώσεται ἐν αὐτῷ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ, ἵνα μάθῃ φοβεῖσθαι Κύριον τὸν θεόν σου καὶ φυλάσσεσθαι πάσας τὰς ἐντολὰς ταύτας καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα ταῦτα ποιεῖν ·

et habébit secum, legétque illud ómnibus diébus vitæ suæ, ut discat timére Dóminum Deum suum, et custodíre verba et cæremónias eius, quæ in lege præcépta sunt.

והיתה עמו וקרא בה כל־ימי חייו למען ילמד ליראה את־יהוה אלהיו לשׁמר את־כל־דברי התורה הזאת ואת החקים האלה לעשׂותם

And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

ἵνα μὴ ὑψωθῇ ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ, ἵνα μὴ παραβῇ ἀπὸ τῶν ἐντολῶν δεξιὰ ἢ ἀριστερά, ὅπως ἂν μακροχρονίσῃ ἐπὶ τῆς ἀρχῆς αὐτοῦ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραήλ.

Nec elevétur cor eius in supérbiam super fratres suos, neque declínet in partem déxteram vel sinístram, ut longo témpore regnet ipse et fílii eius super Israel.

לבלתי רם לבבו מאחיו ולבלתי סר מן המצוה ימין ושׂמאל למען יאריך ימים על כסא ממלכתו הוא ובניו בקרב ישׂראל

That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, [to] the right hand, or [to] the left: to the end that he may prolong [his] days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
