וְזֹ֣את הַמִּצְוָ֗ה הַֽחֻקִּים֙ וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֛ה יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם לְלַמֵּ֣ד אֶתְכֶ֑ם לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת בָּאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֛ם עֹבְרִ֥ים שָׁ֖מָּה לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃

Καὶ αὗται αἱ ἐντολαὶ καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν διδάξαι ὑμᾶς ποιεῖν οὕτως ἐν τῇ γῇ εἰς ἣν ὑμεῖς εἰσπορεύεσθε ἐκεῖ κληρονομῆσαι αὐτήν,

Hæc sunt præcépta, et cæremóniæ, atque iudícia, quæ mandávit Dóminus Deus vester ut docérem vos, et faciátis ea in terra, ad quam transgredímini possidéndam:

וזאת המצוה החקים והמשׁפטים אשׁר צוה יהוה אלהיכם ללמד אתכם לעשׂות בארץ אשׁר אתם עברים שׁמה לרשׁתה

Now these [are] the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do [them] in the land whither ye go to possess it:

לְמַ֨עַן תִּירָ֜א אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ לִ֠שְׁמֹר אֶת־כָּל חֻקֹּתָ֣י־ו וּמִצְוֺתָיו֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָנֹכִ֣י מְצַוֶּךָ֒ אַתָּה֙ וּבִנְךָ֣ וּבֶן בִּנְ־ךָ֔ כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣י חַיֶּ֑יךָ וּלְמַ֖עַן יַאֲרִכֻ֥ן יָמֶֽיךָ׃

ἵνα φοβῆσθε Κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμῶν· φυλάσσεσθε πάντα τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ ὅσας ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον, σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν υἱῶν σου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς σου, ἵνα μακροημερεύσητε.

ut tímeas Dóminum Deum tuum, et custódias ómnia mandáta et præcépta eius, quæ ego præcípio tibi, et fíliis, ac nepótibus tuis, cunctis diébus vitæ tuæ, ut prolongéntur dies tui.

למען תירא את־יהוה אלהיך לשׁמר את־כל חקיו ומצותיו אשׁר אנכי מצוך היום אתה ובנך ובן בנך כל ימי חייך ולמען יאריכון ימיך
2
That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son ’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

καὶ ἄκουσον, Ἰσραήλ, καὶ φύλαξαι ποιεῖν, ὅπως εὖ σοι ᾖ, καὶ ἵνα πληθυνθῆτε σφόδρα, καθάπερ ἐλάλησεν Κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων σου δοῦναί σοι γῆν ῥέουσαν γάλα καὶ μέλι.

Audi Israel, et obsérva ut fácias quæ præcépit tibi Dóminus, et bene sit tibi, et multiplicéris ámplius, sicut pollícitus est Dóminus Deus patrum tuórum tibi terram lacte et melle manántem.

ושׁמעת ישׂראל ושׁמרת לעשׂות אשׁר ייטב לך ואשׁר תרבה מאד כאשׁר דבר יהוה אלהי אבתיך לך ארץ זבת חלב ודבשׁ

Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do [it]; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

et narrábis ea fíliis tuis, et meditáberis in eis sedens in domo tua, et ámbulans in itínere, dórmiens atque consúrgens.

ושׁננתם לבניך ודברת בם בשׁבתך בבית בלכתך בדרך בשׁכבך ובקומך

And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Cumque introdúxerit te Dóminus Deus tuus in terram, pro qua iurávit pátribus tuis Abraham, Isaac, et Iacob: et déderit tibi civitátes magnas et óptimas, quas non ædificásti,

והיה כי יביאך יהוה אלהיך אל הארץ אשׁר נשׁבע לאבתיך לאברהם ליצחק וליעקב לתת לך ערים גדלות וטובות אשׁר לא־בנית

And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

And houses full of all good [things], which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which [are] round about you;

ὅτι θεὸς ζηλωτὴς Κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐν σοί· μὴ ὀργισθεὶς θυμωθῇ Κύριος ὁ θεός σού σοι· ἐξολεθρεύσει σε ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς.

quóniam Deus æmulátor Dóminus Deus tuus in médio tui: nequándo irascátur furor Dómini Dei tui contra te, et áuferat te de superfície terræ.

כי אל קנא יהוה אלהיך בקרבך פן יחר אף־יהוה אלהיך בך והשׁמידך מעל פני האדמה

( For the LORD thy God [is] a jealous God among you ) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

Οὐκ ἐκπειράσεις Κύριον τὸν θεόν σου, ὃν τρόπον ἐξεπειράσατε ἐν τῷ Πειρασμῷ.

φυλάσσων φυλάξῃ τὰς ἐντολὰς Κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου, τὰ μαρτύρια καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα ὅσα ἐνετείλατό σοι·

Custódi præcépta Dómini Dei tui, ac testimónia et cæremónias, quas præcépit tibi:

שׁמר תשׁמרון את־מצות יהוה אלהיכם ועדתיו וחקיו אשׁר צוך

Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

וְעָשִׂ֛יתָ הַיָּשָׁ֥ר וְהַטּ֖וֹב בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה לְמַ֨עַן֙ יִ֣יטַב לָ֔ךְ וּבָ֗אתָ וְיָֽרַשְׁתָּ֙ אֶת הָ־אָ֣רֶץ הַטֹּבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּ֥ע יְהוָ֖ה לַאֲבֹתֶֽיךָ׃

καὶ ποιήσεις τὸ ἀρεστὸν καὶ τὸ καλὸν ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν, ἵνα εὖ σοι γένηται, καὶ εἰσέλθῃς καὶ κληρονομήσῃς τὴν γῆν τὴν ἀγαθὴν ἣν ὤμοσεν Κύριος τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν·

et fac quod plácitum est et bonum in conspéctu Dómini, ut bene sit tibi: et ingréssus possídeas terram óptimam, de qua iurávit Dóminus pátribus tuis,

ועשׂית הישׁר והטוב בעיני יהוה אלהיך למען ייטב לך ובאת וירשׁת את הארץ הטובה אשׁר־נשׁבע יהוה לאבתיך
18
And thou shalt do [that which is] right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,

לַהֲדֹ֥ף אֶת־כָּל אֹיְבֶ֖י־ךָ מִפָּנֶ֑יךָ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃ ס

ἐκδιῶξαι πάντας τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου πρὸ προσώπου σου, καθὰ ἐλάλησεν Κύριος.

כִּֽי יִשְׁאָלְ־ךָ֥ בִנְךָ֛ מָחָ֖ר לֵאמֹ֑ר מָ֣ה הָעֵדֹ֗ת וְהַֽחֻקִּים֙ וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֛ה יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ אֶתְכֶֽם׃

Καὶ ἔσται ὅταν ἐρωτήσῃ σε ὁ υἱός σου αὔριον λέγων Τί ἐστιν τὰ μαρτύρια καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο Κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἡμῖν;

Cumque interrogáverit te fílius tuus cras, dicens: Quid sibi volunt testimónia hæc, et cæremóniæ, atque iudícia, quæ præcépit Dóminus Deus noster nobis?

והיה כי ישׁאלך בנך מחר לאמר מה העדות החקים והמשׁפטים אשׁר צוה יהוה אלהינו אתכם
20
[And] when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What [mean] the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ לְבִנְךָ֔ עֲבָדִ֛ים הָיִ֥ינוּ לְפַרְעֹ֖ה בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם וַיּוֹצִיאֵ֧נוּ יְהוָ֛ה מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם בְּיָ֥ד חֲזָקָֽה׃
21
καὶ ἐρεῖς τῷ υἱῷ σου Οἰκέται ἦμεν τῷ Φαραὼ ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ, ἐξήγαγεν ἡμᾶς Κύριος ἐκεῖθεν ἐν χειρὶ κραταιᾷ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι ὑψηλῷ·

ואמרת לבנך עבדים היינו לפרעה במצרים ויוציאנו יהוה ממצרים ביד חזקה

Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh ’s bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

וַיִּתֵּ֣ן יְהוָ֡ה אוֹתֹ֣ת וּ֠מֹפְתִים גְּדֹלִ֨ים וְרָעִ֧ים ׀ בְּמִצְרַ֛יִם בְּפַרְעֹ֥ה וּבְכָל בֵּית֖־וֹ לְעֵינֵֽינוּ׃

καὶ ἔδωκεν Κύριος σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα μεγάλα καὶ πονηρὰ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ἐν Φαραὼ καὶ ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ ἐνώπιον ἡμῶν,

fecítque signa atque prodígia magna et péssima in Ægýpto contra Pharaónem, et omnem domum illíus in conspéctu nostro,

ויתן יהוה אתות ומופתים גדלים ורעים במצרים בפרעה ובכל ביתו לעינינו

And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

וְאוֹתָ֖נוּ הוֹצִ֣יא מִשָּׁ֑ם לְמַ֨עַן֙ הָבִ֣יא אֹתָ֔נוּ לָ֤תֶת לָ֨נוּ֙ אֶת הָ־אָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֖ע לַאֲבֹתֵֽינוּ׃

καὶ ἡμᾶς ἐξήγαγεν ἐκεῖθεν δοῦναι ἡμῖν τὴν γῆν ταύτην ἣν ὤμοσεν δοῦναι τοῖς πατράσιν ἡμῶν·

et edúxit nos inde, ut introdúctis daret terram, super qua iurávit pátribus nostris.

ואתנו הוציא משׁם למען הביא אתנו לתת לנו את הארץ אשׁר נשׁבע יהוה לאבתינו

And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

וַיְצַוֵּ֣נוּ יְהוָ֗ה לַעֲשׂוֹת֙ אֶת־כָּל הַ־חֻקִּ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה לְיִרְאָ֖ה אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ לְט֥וֹב לָ֨נוּ֙ כָּל הַ־יָּמִ֔ים לְחַיֹּתֵ֖נוּ כְּהַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

καὶ ἐνετείλατο ἡμῖν ποιεῖν πάντα τὰ δικαιώματα ταῦτα, φοβεῖσθαι Κύριον τὸν θεὸν ἡμῶν, ἵνα εὖ ᾖ ἡμῖν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας, ἵνα ζῶμεν ὥσπερ καὶ σήμερον·

Præcepítque nobis Dóminus ut faciámus ómnia legítima hæc, et timeámus Dóminum Deum nostrum, ut bene sit nobis cunctis diébus vitæ nostræ, sicut est hódie.

ויצונו יהוה לעשׂות את־כל החקים האלה ליראה את־יהוה אלהינו לטוב לנו כל הימים ולהחיותנו כיום הזה

And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as [it is] at this day.

וּצְדָקָ֖ה תִּֽהְיֶה לָּ֑־נוּ כִּֽי־נִשְׁמֹ֨ר לַעֲשׂ֜וֹת אֶת־כָּל הַ־מִּצְוָ֣ה הַזֹּ֗את לִפְנֵ֛י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּֽנוּ׃ ס

καὶ ἐλεημοσύνη ἔσται ἡμῖν ἐὰν φυλασσώμεθα ποιεῖν πάσας τὰς ἐντολὰς ταύτας ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν, καθὰ ἐνετείλατο ἡμῖν Κύριος.

Erítque nostri miséricors, si custodiérimus et fecérimus ómnia præcépta eius coram Dómino Deo nostro, sicut mandávit nobis.

וצדקה תהיה לנו כי־נשׁמר לעשׂות את־כל המצוה הזאת לפני יהוה אלהינו כאשׁר צונו

And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
