שַׁלַּ֥ח לַחְמְךָ֖ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הַמָּ֑יִם כִּֽי בְ־רֹ֥ב הַיָּמִ֖ים תִּמְצָאֶֽנּוּ׃

Ἀπόστειλον τὸν ἄρτον σου ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τοῦ ὕδατος, ὅτι ἐν πλήθει ἡμερῶν εὑρήσεις αὐτόν.

אִם־יִמָּלְא֨וּ הֶעָבִ֥ים גֶּ֨שֶׁם֙ עַל הָ־אָ֣רֶץ יָרִ֔יקוּ וְאִם־יִפּ֥וֹל עֵ֛ץ בַּדָּר֖וֹם וְאִ֣ם בַּצָּפ֑וֹן מְק֛וֹם שֶׁיִּפּ֥וֹל הָעֵ֖ץ שָׁ֥ם יְהֽוּא׃

ἐὰν πλησθῶσιν τὰ νέφη ὑετοῦ, ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἐκχέουσιν · καὶ ἐὰν πέσῃ ξύλον ἐν τῷ νότῳ καὶ ἐὰν ἐν τῷ βορρᾷ, τόπῳ οὗ πεσεῖται τὸ ξύλον ἐκεῖ ἔσται.

Si replétæ fúerint nubes, imbrem super terram effúndent. Si cecíderit lignum ad austrum, aut ad aquilónem, in quocúmque loco cecíderit, ibi erit.

כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר אֵֽינְךָ֤ יוֹדֵ֨עַ֙ מַה־דֶּ֣רֶךְ הָר֔וּחַ כַּעֲצָמִ֖ים בְּבֶ֣טֶן הַמְּלֵאָ֑ה כָּ֗כָה לֹ֤א תֵדַע֙ אֶת־מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲשֶׂ֖ה אֶת הַ־כֹּֽל׃

ἐν οἷς οὐκ ἔστιν γινώσκων τίς ὁδὸς τοῦ πνεύματος ὡς ὀστᾶ ἐν γαστρὶ κυοφορούσης, οὕτως οὐ γνώσῃ τὰ ποιήματα τοῦ θεοῦ ὅσα ποιήσει τὰ σύμπαντα.

Quómodo ignóras quæ sit via spíritus, et qua ratióne compingántur ossa in ventre prægnántis: sic nescis ópera Dei, qui fabricátor est ómnium.

בַּבֹּ֨קֶר֙ זְרַ֣ע אֶת זַרְעֶ֔־ךָ וְלָעֶ֖רֶב אַל־תַּנַּ֣ח יָדֶ֑ךָ כִּי֩ אֵֽינְךָ֨ יוֹדֵ֜ע אֵ֣י זֶ֤ה יִכְשָׁר֙ הֲזֶ֣ה אוֹ־זֶ֔ה וְאִם שְׁנֵי־הֶ֥ם כְּאֶחָ֖ד טוֹבִֽים׃

ἐν τῷ πρωὶ σπεῖρον τὸ σπέρμα σου, καὶ ἐν ἑσπέρᾳ μὴ ἀφέτω χείρ σου, ὅτι οὐ γινώσκεις ποῖον στοιχήσει, τοῦτο τοῦτο, καὶ ἐὰν τὰ δύο ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ἀγαθά.

Mane sémina semen tuum, et véspere ne cesset manus tua: quia nescis quid magis oriátur, hoc aut illud: et si utrúmque simul, mélius erit.

καὶ γλυκὺ τὸ φῶς, καὶ ἀγαθὸν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς τοῦ βλέπειν σὺν τὸν ἥλιον.

כִּ֣י אִם־שָׁנִ֥ים הַרְבֵּ֛ה יִחְיֶ֥ה הָאָדָ֖ם בְּכֻלָּ֣ם יִשְׂמָ֑ח וְיִזְכֹּר֙ אֶת־יְמֵ֣י הַחֹ֔שֶׁךְ כִּֽי־הַרְבֵּ֥ה יִהְי֖וּ כָּל שֶׁ־בָּ֥א הָֽבֶל׃

ὅτι καὶ ἐὰν ἔτη πολλὰ ζήσεται ἄνθρωπος, ἐν πᾶσιν αὐτοῖς εὐφρανθήσεται, καὶ μνησθήσεται τὰς ἡμέρας τοῦ σκότους, ὅτι πολλαὶ ἔσονται · πᾶν τὸ ἐρχόμενον ματαιότης.

Si annis multis víxerit homo, et in his ómnibus lætátus fúerit, meminísse debet tenebrósi témporis, et diérum multórum: qui cum vénerint, vanitátis arguéntur prætérita.

שְׂמַ֧ח בָּח֣וּר בְּיַלְדוּתֶ֗יךָ וִֽיטִֽיבְךָ֤ לִבְּךָ֙ בִּימֵ֣י בְחוּרוֹתֶ֔ךָ וְהַלֵּךְ֙ בְּדַרְכֵ֣י לִבְּךָ֔ וּבְמַרְאֵ֖י עֵינֶ֑יךָ וְדָ֕ע כִּ֧י עַל־כָּל־אֵ֛לֶּה יְבִֽיאֲךָ֥ הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים בַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃

Εὐφραίνου, νεανίσκε, ἐν νεότητί σου, καὶ ἀγαθυνάτω σε καρδία σου ἐν ἡμέραις νεότητός σου, καὶ περιπάτει ἐν ὁδοῖς ἄμωμος καὶ μὴ ἐν ὁράσει ὀφθαλμῶν σου · καὶ γνῶθι ὅτι ἐπὶ πᾶσι τούτοις ἄξει σε θεὸς ἐν κρίσει.

Lætáre ergo iúvenis in adolescéntia tua, et in bono sit cor tuum in diébus iuventútis tuæ: et ámbula in viis cordis tui, et in intúitu oculórum tuórum: et scito quod pro ómnibus his addúcet te Deus in iudícium.

וְהָסֵ֥ר כַּ֨עַס֙ מִלִּבֶּ֔ךָ וְהַעֲבֵ֥ר רָעָ֖ה מִבְּשָׂרֶ֑ךָ כִּֽי הַ־יַּלְד֥וּת וְהַֽשַּׁחֲר֖וּת הָֽבֶל׃

καὶ ἀπόστησον θυμὸν ἀπὸ καρδίας σου, καὶ πάραγε πονηρίαν ἀπὸ σαρκός σου, ὅτι νεότης καὶ ἄνοια ματαιότης.

Aufer iram a corde tuo, et ámove malítiam a carne tua: adolescéntia enim et volúptas vana sunt.
