וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

Εἶπεν δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων

Locutúsque est Dóminus ad Móysen, dicens:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

קַדֶּשׁ לִ֨־י כָל־בְּכ֜וֹר פֶּ֤טֶר כָּל־רֶ֨חֶם֙ בִּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בָּאָדָ֖ם וּבַבְּהֵמָ֑ה לִ֖י הֽוּא׃

Ἁγίασόν μοι πᾶν πρωτότοκον πρωτογενὲς διανοῖγον πᾶσαν μήτραν ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους · ἐμοί ἐστιν.

Sanctífica mihi omne primogénitum quod áperit vulvam in fíliis Israel, tam de homínibus quam de iuméntis: mea sunt enim ómnia.

קדשׁ לי כל־בכור פטר כל־רחם בבני ישׂראל באדם ובבהמה לי הוא
2
Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, [both] of man and of beast: it [is] mine.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶל הָ־עָ֗ם זָכ֞וֹר אֶת הַ־יּ֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְצָאתֶ֤ם מִמִּצְרַ֨יִם֙ מִבֵּ֣ית עֲבָדִ֔ים כִּ֚י בְּחֹ֣זֶק יָ֔ד הוֹצִ֧יא יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶתְכֶ֖ם מִזֶּ֑ה וְלֹ֥א יֵאָכֵ֖ל חָמֵֽץ׃

Εἶπεν δὲ Μωυσῆς πρὸς τὸν λαόν Μνημονεύετε τὴν ἡμέραν ταύτην ἐν ᾗ ἐξήλθατε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου, ἐξ οἴκου δουλίας · ἐν γὰρ χειρὶ κραταιᾷ ἐξήγαγεν ὑμᾶς Κύριος ἐντεῦθεν · καὶ οὐ βρωθήσεται ζύμη.

Et ait Móyses ad pópulum: Mementóte diéi huius in qua egréssi estis de Ægýpto et de domo servitútis, quóniam in manu forti edúxit vos Dóminus de loco isto: ut non comedátis fermentátum panem.

ויאמר משׁה אל העם זכרו את היום הזה אשׁר יצאתם בו מארץ מצרים מבית עבדים כי בחזק יד הוציא יהוה אתכם מזה ולא יאכל חמץ היום
3
And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this [place]: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.

ἐν γὰρ τῇ σήμερον ὑμεῖς ἐκπορεύεσθε ἐν μηνὶ τῶν νέων.

Hódie egredímini mense novárum frugum.

וְהָיָ֣ה כִֽי יְבִֽיאֲ־ךָ֣ יְהוָ֡ה אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ הַֽ֠כְּנַעֲנִי וְהַחִתִּ֨י וְהָאֱמֹרִ֜י וְהַחִוִּ֣י וְהַיְבוּסִ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִשְׁבַּ֤ע לַאֲבֹתֶ֨יךָ֙ לָ֣תֶת לָ֔ךְ אֶ֛רֶץ זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֖ב וּדְבָ֑שׁ וְעָבַדְתָּ֛ אֶת הָ־עֲבֹדָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַזֶּֽה׃
5
καὶ ἔσται ἡνίκα ἐὰν εἰσαγάγῃ σε Κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς τὴν γῆν τῶν Χαναναίων καὶ Χετταίων καὶ Εὑαίων καὶ Γεργεσαίων καὶ Ἀμορραίων καὶ Φερεζαίων καὶ Ἰεβουσαίων, ἣν ὤμοσεν τοῖς πατράσιν σου δοῦναί σοι, γῆν ῥέουσαν γάλα καὶ μέλι, καὶ ποιήσεις τὴν λατρίαν ταύτην ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τούτῳ.

Cumque introdúxerit te Dóminus in terram Chananǽi et Hethǽi et Amorrhǽi et Hevǽi et Iebusǽi, quam iurávit pátribus tuis ut daret tibi, terram fluéntem lacte et melle, celebrábis hunc morem sacrórum mense isto.

והיה כי יביאך יהוה אלהיך אל־ארץ הכנעני החתי והאמרי והפרזי והגרגשׁי והחוי והיבוסי אשׁר נשׁבע לאבתיך לתת לך ארץ זבת חלב ודבשׁ ועבדת את העבדה הזאת בחדשׁ הזה
5
And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.

שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים תֹּאכַ֣ל מַצֹּ֑ת וּבַיּוֹם֙ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י חַ֖ג לַיהוָֽה׃

ἓξ ἡμέρας ἔδεσθε ἄζυμα, τῇ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ ἑορτὴ Κυρίου ·

Septem diébus vescéris ázymis: et in die séptimo erit solémnitas Dómini.

שׁשׁת ימים תאכל מצות וביום השׁביעי חג ליהוה
6
Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day [shall be] a feast to the LORD.

מַצּוֹת֙ יֵֽאָכֵ֔ל אֵ֖ת שִׁבְעַ֣ת הַיָּמִ֑ים וְלֹֽא־יֵרָאֶ֨ה לְךָ֜ חָמֵ֗ץ וְלֹֽא־יֵרָאֶ֥ה לְךָ֛ שְׂאֹ֖ר בְּכָל גְּבֻלֶֽ־ךָ׃
7
ἄζυμα ἔδεσθε ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας, οὐκ ὀφθήσεταί σοι ζυμωτὸν οὐδὲ ἔσται σοι ζύμη ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ὁρίοις σου.
7
Azyma comedétis septem diébus: non apparébit apud te áliquid fermentátum, nec in cunctis fínibus tuis.

מצות יאכל את שׁבעת הימים לא־יראה לך חמץ ולא־יראה לך שׂאר בכל גבולך
7
Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.

וְהִגַּדְתָּ֣ לְבִנְךָ֔ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא לֵאמֹ֑ר בַּעֲב֣וּר זֶ֗ה עָשָׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ לִ֔י בְּצֵאתִ֖י מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃
8
καὶ ἀναγγελεῖς τῷ υἱῷ σου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ λέγων Διὰ τοῦτο ἐποίησεν Κύριος ὁ θεός μοι, ὡς ἐξεπορευόμην ἐξ Αἰγύπτου.

Narrabísque fílio tuo in die illo, dicens: Hoc est quod fecit mihi Dóminus quando egréssus sum de Ægýpto.

והגדת לבנך ביום ההוא לאמר בעבור זה עשׂה יהוה לי בצאתי ממצרים
8
And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, [This is done] because of that [which] the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.

וְהָיָה֩ לְךָ֨ לְא֜וֹת עַל יָדְ־ךָ֗ וּלְזִכָּרוֹן֙ בֵּ֣ין עֵינֶ֔יךָ לְמַ֗עַן תִּהְיֶ֛ה תּוֹרַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה בְּפִ֑יךָ כִּ֚י בְּיָ֣ד חֲזָקָ֔ה הוֹצִֽאֲךָ֥ יְהֹוָ֖ה מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃
9
καὶ ἔσται σοι σημεῖον ἐπὶ τῆς χειρός σου καὶ μνημόσυνον πρὸ ὀφθαλμῶν σου, ὅπως ἂν γένηται ὁ νόμος Κυρίου ἐν τῷ στόματί σου · ἐν γὰρ χειρὶ κραταιᾷ ἐξήγαγέν σε Κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου.

Et erit quasi signum in manu tua, et quasi monuméntum ante óculos tuos: et ut lex Dómini semper sit in ore tuo, in manu enim forti edúxit te Dóminus de Ægýpto.

והיו לך לאות על ידיך ולזכרון בין עיניך למען תהיה תורת יהוה בפיך כי ביד חזקה הוציאך יהוה ממצרים
9
And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD ’S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

והיה ל׳ך לאות על יד׳ך ולזכרון] [בין עיני׳ך למען תהיה ת]ורת# י#?[הוה בפי׳ך כ]י ביד חז?[קה הוצא׳ך יהוה ממצרים ׃

וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֛ אֶת הַ־חֻקָּ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את לְמוֹעֲדָ֑הּ מִיָּמִ֖ים יָמִֽימָה׃ ס
10
καὶ φυλάξεσθε τὸν νόμον τοῦτον ἀφ᾽ ἡμερῶν εἰς ἡμέρας.

Custódies huiuscémodi cultum statúto témpore a diébus in dies.

ושׁמרת את החקה הזאת למועדה מימים ימימה
10
Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.

וְהָיָ֞ה כִּֽי יְבִֽאֲ־ךָ֤ יְהוָה֙ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔י כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר נִשְׁבַּ֥ע לְךָ֖ וְלַֽאֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ וּנְתָנָ֖הּ לָֽךְ׃
11
Καὶ ἔσται ὡς ἂν εἰσαγάγῃ σε Κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς τὴν γῆν τῶν Χαναναίων, ὃν τρόπον ὤμοσεν τοῖς πατράσιν σου, καὶ δώσει σοι αὐτήν,
11
Cumque introdúxerit te Dóminus in terram Chananǽi, sicut iurávit tibi et pátribus tuis, et déderit tibi eam:

והיה כי יביאך יהוה אלהיך אל־ארץ הכנעני כאשׁר נשׁבע לך ולאבתיך ונתנה לך

And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,

וְהַעֲבַרְתָּ֥ כָל־פֶּֽטֶר־רֶ֖חֶם לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה וְכָל־פֶּ֣טֶר ׀ שֶׁ֣גֶר בְּהֵמָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִהְיֶ֥ה לְךָ֛ הַזְּכָרִ֖ים לַיהוָֽה׃
12
καὶ ἀφελεῖς πᾶν διανοῖγον μήτραν, τὰ ἀρσενικά, τῷ κυρίῳ · πᾶν διανοῖγον μήτραν ἐκ τῶν βουκολίων ἢ ἐν τοῖς κτήνεσίν σου ὅσα ἐὰν γένηταί σοι, τὰ ἀρσενικὰ ἁγιάσεις τῷ κυρίῳ.

separábis omne quod áperit vulvam Dómino, et quod primitívum est in pecóribus tuis: quidquid habúeris masculíni sexus, consecrábis Dómino.

והעברת כל־פטר־רחם ליהוה וכל־פטר שׁגר בהמה אשׁר יהיו לך הזכרים ליהוה
12
That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males [shall be] the LORD’S.

וְכָל־פֶּ֤טֶר חֲמֹר֙ תִּפְדֶּ֣ה בְשֶׂ֔ה וְאִם־לֹ֥א תִפְדֶּ֖ה וַעֲרַפְתּ֑וֹ וְכֹ֨ל בְּכ֥וֹר אָדָ֛ם בְּבָנֶ֖יךָ תִּפְדֶּֽה׃
13
πᾶν διανοῖγον μήτραν ὄνου ἀλλάξεις προβάτῳ · ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἀλλάξῃς, λυτρώσῃ αὐτό · πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἀνθρώπου τῶν υἱῶν σου λυτρώσῃ.

Primogénitum ásini mutábis ove: quod si non redémeris, interfícies. Omne autem primogénitum hóminis de fíliis tuis, prétio rédimes.

וכל־פטר חמור תפדה בשׂה ואם־לא תפדנו וערפתו וכל בכור אדם בבניך תפדה
13
And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.

וְהָיָ֞ה כִּֽי יִשְׁאָלְ־ךָ֥ בִנְךָ֛ מָחָ֖ר לֵאמֹ֣ר מַה־זֹּ֑את וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֔יו בְּחֹ֣זֶק יָ֗ד הוֹצִיאָ֧נוּ יְהוָ֛ה מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם מִבֵּ֥ית עֲבָדִֽים׃
14
ἐὰν δὲ ἐρωτήσῃ σε ὁ υἱός σου μετὰ ταῦτα λέγων Τί τοῦτο; καὶ ἐρεῖς αὐτῷ ὅτι Ἐν χειρὶ κραταιᾷ ἐξήγαγεν Κύριος ἡμᾶς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου, ἐξ οἴκου δουλίας ·
14
Cumque interrogáverit te fílius tuus cras, dicens: Quid est hoc? respondébis ei: In manu forti edúxit nos Dóminus de terra Ægýpti, de domo servitútis.

והיה כי ישׁאלך בנך מחר לאמר מה־זאת ואמרת אליו בחזק יד הוציאנו יהוה ממצרים מבית עבדים
14
And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What [is] this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

והיה כי ישאל׳ך ]בנ׳ך מחר לאמר [מה־זאת ואמרת אלי׳ו בחזק יד הו]ציא׳נו יהוה ממצרים [מבית עבדים ׃
15
וַיְהִ֗י כִּֽי־הִקְשָׁ֣ה פַרְעֹה֮ לְשַׁלְּחֵנוּ֒ וַיַּהֲרֹ֨ג יְהֹוָ֤ה כָּל־בְּכוֹר֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִבְּכֹ֥ר אָדָ֖ם וְעַד־בְּכ֣וֹר בְּהֵמָ֑ה עַל־כֵּן֩ אֲנִ֨י זֹבֵ֜חַ לַֽיהוָ֗ה כָּל־פֶּ֤טֶר רֶ֨חֶם֙ הַזְּכָרִ֔ים וְכָל־בְּכ֥וֹר בָּנַ֖י אֶפְדֶּֽה׃
15
ἡνίκα δὲ ἐσκλήρυνεν Φαραὼ ἐξαποστεῖλαι ἡμᾶς, ἀπέκτεινεν πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἀπὸ πρωτοτόκων ἀνθρώπων ἕως πρωτοτόκων κτηνῶν · διὰ τοῦτο ἐγὼ θύω πᾶν πρωτότοκον τῷ κυρίῳ, πᾶν διανοῖγον μήτραν, τὰ ἀρσενικὰ, καὶ πᾶν πρωτότοκον τῶν υἱῶν μου λυτρώσομαι.
15
Nam cum indurátus esset Phárao, et nollet nos dimíttere, occídit Dóminus omne primogénitum in terra Ægýpti, a primogénito hóminis usque ad primogénitum iumentórum: idcírco ímmolo Dómino omne quod áperit vulvam masculíni sexus, et ómnia primogénita filiórum meórum rédimo.

ויהי כי־הקשׁה פרעה לשׁלחנו ויהרג יהוה כל־בכור בארץ מצרים מבכור אדם עד־בכור בהמה על־כן אני זבח ליהוה כל־פטר רחם הזכרים וכל־בכור אדם בבני אפדה
15
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.

[בנ׳י אפדה ׃ ויהי כי־הקשה פרע]ה לשלח׳נו ויהרג יהוה [כל־בכור בארץ מצרים מבכר א]דם ועד־בכור בהמה [על־כן אני זבח ליהוה כל־פטר ]רחם הזכרים וכל־בכור
16
וְהָיָ֤ה לְאוֹת֙ עַל יָ֣דְ־כָ֔ה וּלְטוֹטָפֹ֖ת בֵּ֣ין עֵינֶ֑יךָ כִּ֚י בְּחֹ֣זֶק יָ֔ד הוֹצִיאָ֥נוּ יְהוָ֖ה מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃ ס
16
καὶ ἔσται εἰς σημεῖον ἐπὶ τῆς χειρός σου, καὶ ἀσάλευτον πρὸ ὀφθαλμῶν σου · ἐν γὰρ χειρὶ κραταιᾷ ἐξήγαγέν σε Κύριος ἐξ Αἰγύπτου.
16
Erit ígitur quasi signum in manu tua, et quasi appénsum quid, ob recordatiónem, inter óculos tuos: eo quod in manu forti edúxit nos Dóminus de Ægýpto.

והיו לך לאות על ידיך ולטטפות בין עיניך כי בחזק יד הוציאך יהוה ממצרים
16
And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.

וַיְהִ֗י בְּשַׁלַּ֣ח פַּרְעֹה֮ אֶת הָ־עָם֒ וְלֹא נָחָ֣־ם אֱלֹהִ֗ים דֶּ֚רֶךְ אֶ֣רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים כִּ֥י קָר֖וֹב ה֑וּא כִּ֣י ׀ אָמַ֣ר אֱלֹהִ֗ים פֶּֽן־יִנָּחֵ֥ם הָעָ֛ם בִּרְאֹתָ֥ם מִלְחָמָ֖ה וְשָׁ֥בוּ מִצְרָֽיְמָה׃
17
Ὡς δὲ ἐξαπέστειλεν Φαραὼ τὸν λαόν, οὐχ ὡδήγησεν αὐτοὺς ὁ θεὸς ὁδὸν γῆς Φυλιστιείμ, ὅτι ἐγγὺς ἦν · εἶπεν γὰρ ὁ θεός Μή ποτε μεταμελήσῃ τῷ λαῷ ἰδόντι πόλεμον, καὶ ἀποστρέψῃ εἰς Αἴγυπτον.

Igitur cum emisísset Phárao pópulum, non eos duxit Deus per viam terræ Philísthiim quæ vicína est: réputans ne forte pœnitéret eum, si vidísset advérsum se bella consúrgere, et reverterétur in Ægýptum.

ויהי בשׁלח פרעה את העם ולא נחם אלהים דרך ארץ פלשׁתים כי קרוב הוא כי אמר אלהים פן־ינחם העם בראותם מלחמה ושׁבו מצרימה

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not [through] the way of the land of the Philistines, although that [was] near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

וַיַּסֵּ֨ב אֱלֹהִ֧ים ׀ אֶת הָ־עָ֛ם דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַמִּדְבָּ֖ר יַם־ס֑וּף וַחֲמֻשִׁ֛ים עָל֥וּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
18
καὶ ἐκύκλωσεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν λαὸν ὁδὸν τὴν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον, εἰς τὴν ἐρυθρὰν θάλασσαν · πέμπτῃ δὲ γενεᾷ ἀνέβησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου.

Sed circumdúxit per viam desérti, quæ est iuxta mare Rubrum: et armáti ascendérunt fílii Israel de terra Ægýpti.

ויסב אלהים את העם דרך מדבר ים־סוף וחמישׁים עלו בני־ישׂראל מארץ מצרים

But God led the people about, [through] the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

וַיִּקַּ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־עַצְמ֥וֹת יוֹסֵ֖ף עִמּ֑וֹ כִּי֩ הַשְׁבֵּ֨עַ הִשְׁבִּ֜יעַ אֶת־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר פָּקֹ֨ד יִפְקֹ֤ד אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶתְכֶ֔ם וְהַעֲלִיתֶ֧ם אֶת עַצְמֹתַ֛־י מִזֶּ֖ה אִתְּכֶֽם׃

Καὶ ἔλαβεν Μωυσῆς τὰ ὀστᾶ Ἰωσὴφ μεθ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ · ὅρκῳ γὰρ ὥρκισεν τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ λέγων Ἐπισκοπῇ ἐπισκέψεται ὑμᾶς Κύριος, καὶ συνανοίσετέ μου τὰ ὀστᾶ ἐντεῦθεν μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν.

Tulit quoque Móyses ossa Ioseph secum: eo quod adiurásset fílios Israel, dicens: Visitábit vos Deus: efférte ossa mea hinc vobíscum.

ויקח משׁה את־עצמות יוסף עמו כי השׁבע השׁביע יוסף את־בני ישׂראל לאמר פקד יפקד אלהים אתכם והעליתם את עצמתי מזה אתכם

And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

ὁ δὲ θεὸς ἡγεῖτο αὐτῶν, ἡμέρας μὲν ἐν στύλῳ νεφέλης δεῖξαι αὐτοῖς τὴν ὁδόν, τὴν δὲ νύκτα ἐν στύλῳ πυρός ·

Dóminus autem præcedébat eos ad ostendéndam viam per diem in colúmna nubis, et per noctem in colúmna ignis: ut dux esset itíneris utróque témpore.

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

οὐκ ἐξέλιπεν δὲ ὁ στύλος τῆς νεφέλης ἡμέρας καὶ ὁ στύλος τοῦ πυρὸς νυκτὸς ἐναντίον τοῦ λαοῦ παντός.

Numquam défuit colúmna nubis per diem, nec colúmna ignis per noctem, coram pópulo.

He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, [from] before the people.
