בַּחֹ֨דֶשׁ֙ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י לְצֵ֥את בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם בַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה בָּ֖אוּ מִדְבַּ֥ר סִינָֽי׃

Τοῦ δὲ μηνὸς τοῦ τρίτου τῆς ἐξόδου τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ ἤλθοσαν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον τοῦ Σεινά.

Mense tértio egressiónis Israel de terra Ægýpti, in die hac venérunt in solitúdinem Sínai.

בחדשׁ השׁלישׁי לצאת בני־ישׂראל מארץ מצרים ביום הזה באו מדבר סיני

In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they [into] the wilderness of Sinai.

וַיִּסְע֣וּ מֵרְפִידִ֗ים וַיָּבֹ֨אוּ֙ מִדְבַּ֣ר סִינַ֔י וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר וַיִּֽחַן־שָׁ֥ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נֶ֥גֶד הָהָֽר׃

καὶ ἀπῆραν ἐκ Ῥαφιδεὶν καὶ ἤλθοσαν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον τοῦ Σεινά, καὶ παρενέβαλεν ἐκεῖ Ἰσραὴλ κατέναντι τοῦ ὄρους.

Nam profécti de Ráphidim, et perveniéntes usque in desértum Sínai, castrametáti sunt in eódem loco, ibíque Israel fixit tentória e regióne montis.

ויסעו מרפידים ויבאו מדבר סיני ויחנו במדבר ויחן־שׁם ישׂראל נגד ההר

For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come [to] the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.

וּמֹשֶׁ֥ה עָלָ֖ה אֶל הָ־אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיִּקְרָ֨א אֵלָ֤יו יְהוָה֙ מִן הָ־הָ֣ר לֵאמֹ֔ר כֹּ֤ה תֹאמַר֙ לְבֵ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֔ב וְתַגֵּ֖יד לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

καὶ Μωσῆς ἀνέβη εἰς τὸ ὄρος τοῦ θεοῦ · καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτὸν ὁ θεὸς ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ λέγων Τάδε ἐρεῖς τῷ οἴκῳ Ἰακὼβ καὶ ἀναγγελεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραήλ.

Móyses autem ascéndit ad Deum: vocavítque eum Dóminus de monte, et ait: Hæc dices dómui Iacob, et annuntiábis fíliis Israel:

ומשׁה עלה אל האלהים ויקרא אליו יהוה מן ההר לאמר כה תאמר לבית יעקב ותגיד לבני ישׂראל

And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;

אַתֶּ֣ם רְאִיתֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי לְמִצְרָ֑יִם וָאֶשָּׂ֤א אֶתְכֶם֙ עַל־כַּנְפֵ֣י נְשָׁרִ֔ים וָאָבִ֥א אֶתְכֶ֖ם אֵלָֽי׃

Αὐτοὶ ἑωράκατε ὅσα πεποίηκα τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις, καὶ ἀνέλαβον ὑμᾶς ὡσεὶ ἐπὶ πτερύγων ἀετῶν, καὶ προσηγαγόμην ὑμᾶς πρὸς ἐμαυτόν.

Vos ipsi vidístis quæ fécerim Ægýptiis, quómodo portáverim vos super alas aquilárum, et assúmpserim mihi.

אתם ראיתם את אשׁר עשׂיתי למצרים ואשׂא אתכם על־כנפי נשׁרים ואביא אתכם אלי

Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and [how] I bare you on eagles ’ wings, and brought you unto myself.

וְעַתָּ֗ה אִם־שָׁמ֤וֹעַ תִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ בְּקֹלִ֔י וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם אֶת בְּרִיתִ֑־י וִהְיִ֨יתֶם לִ֤י סְגֻלָּה֙ מִכָּל הָ֣־עַמִּ֔ים כִּי לִ֖־י כָּל הָ־אָֽרֶץ׃

καὶ νῦν ἐὰν ἀκοῇ ἀκούσητε τῆς ἐμῆς φωνῆς καὶ φυλάξητε τὴν διαθήκην μου, ἔσεσθέ μοι λαὸς περιούσιος ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐθνῶν · ἐμὴ γάρ ἐστιν πᾶσα ἡ γῆ,

Si ergo audiéritis vocem meam, et custodiéritis pactum meum, éritis mihi in pecúlium de cunctis pópulis: mea est enim omnis terra.

ועתה אם שׁמע תשׁמעו בקולי ושׁמרתם את בריתי והייתם לי סגלה מכל העמים כי לי כל הארץ

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth [is] mine:

וְאַתֶּ֧ם תִּהְיוּ לִ֛־י מַמְלֶ֥כֶת כֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְג֣וֹי קָד֑וֹשׁ אֵ֚לֶּה הַדְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר תְּדַבֵּ֖ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

ὑμεῖς δὲ ἔσεσθέ μοι βασίλειον ἱεράτευμα καὶ ἔθνος ἅγιον. ταῦτα τὰ ῥήματα ἐρεῖς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραήλ.

Et vos éritis mihi in regnum sacerdotále, et gens sancta. Hæc sunt verba quæ loquéris ad fílios Israel.

ואתם תהיו לי ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדשׁ אלה הדברים אשׁר תדבר אל־בני ישׂראל

And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These [are] the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

וַיָּבֹ֣א מֹשֶׁ֔ה וַיִּקְרָ֖א לְזִקְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַיָּ֣שֶׂם לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם אֵ֚ת כָּל הַ־דְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֖הוּ יְהוָֽה׃

ἦλθεν δὲ Μωυσῆς καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους τοῦ λαοῦ, καὶ παρέθηκεν αὐτοῖς πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους οὓς συνέταξεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεός.

Venit Móyses: et convocátis maióribus natu pópuli, expósuit omnes sermónes quos mandáverat Dóminus.

ויבא משׁה ויקרא לזקני העם וישׂם לפניהם את כל הדברים האלה אשׁר צוהו יהוה

And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.

ε וישם לפני׳הם את כל הדברים ]האל##[ה אשר צו׳הו] [יהוה ׃

וַיַּעֲנ֨וּ כָל הָ־עָ֤ם יַחְדָּו֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה נַעֲשֶׂ֑ה וַיָּ֧שֶׁב מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃

ἀπεκρίθη δὲ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ὁμοθυμαδὸν καὶ εἶπαν Πάντα ὅσα εἶπεν ὁ θεὸς ποιήσομεν καὶ ἀκουσόμεθα · ἀνήνεγκεν δὲ Μωυσῆς τοὺς λόγους τούτους πρὸς τὸν θεόν.

Respondítque omnis pópulus simul: Cuncta quæ locútus est Dóminus, faciémus. Cumque retulísset Móyses verba pópuli ad Dóminum,

ויענו כל העם יחדו ויאמרו כל אשׁר־דבר יהוה נעשׂה וישׁב משׁה את־דברי העם אל־יהוה

And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

ויענו כל העם יחדו ויאמרו ]כ#ל [אשר־דבר] [יהוה נעשה וישב משה את־דברי העם אל־יה]ו#?ה ׃

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה הִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י בָּ֣א אֵלֶיךָ֮ בְּעַ֣ב הֶֽעָנָן֒ בַּעֲב֞וּר יִשְׁמַ֤ע הָעָם֙ בְּדַבְּרִ֣י עִמָּ֔ךְ וְגַם בְּ־ךָ֖ יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ לְעוֹלָ֑ם וַיַּגֵּ֥ד מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃

εἶπεν δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωσῆν Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ παραγίνομαι πρὸς σὲ ἐν στύλῳ νεφέλης, ἵνα ἀκούσῃ ὁ λαὸς λαλοῦντός μου πρὸς σέ, καὶ σοὶ πιστεύσωσιν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. ἀνήγγειλεν δὲ Μωσῆς τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ λαοῦ πρὸς Κύριον.

ait ei Dóminus: Iam nunc véniam ad te in calígine nubis, ut áudiat me pópulus loquéntem ad te, et credat tibi in perpétuum. Nuntiávit ergo Móyses verba pópuli ad Dóminum.

ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה הנה אנכי בא אליך בעבי הענן בעבור ישׁמע העם בדברי עמך וגם בך יאמנו לעולם ויגד משׁה את־דברי העם אל־יהוה

And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD.

ε העם בדבר׳י עמ׳ך וגם ב׳כה יאמינו] [לעול]ם ויגד מושה[ את־דברי העם אל־יהוה ׃ ε

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֤ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֙ לֵ֣ךְ אֶל הָ־עָ֔ם וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ם הַיּ֖וֹם וּמָחָ֑ר וְכִבְּס֖וּ שִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃

Εἶπεν δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Καταβὰς διαμάρτυραι τῷ λαῷ, καὶ ἅγνισον αὐτοὺς σήμερον καὶ αὔριον · καὶ πλυνάτωσαν τὰ ἱμάτια,

Qui dixit ei: Vade ad pópulum, et sanctífica illos hódie, et cras, lavéntque vestiménta sua.

ויאמר יהוה אל־משׁה לך אל העם וקדשׁתם היום ומחר וכבסו שׂמלותם

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,

ויאמר יהוה אל־משה] לך אל [העם] [וקדשת׳ם היום ומחר וכבסו שמלת׳ם ׃

וְהָי֥וּ נְכֹנִ֖ים לַיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑י כִּ֣י ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗י יֵרֵ֧ד יְהוָ֛ה לְעֵינֵ֥י כָל הָ־עָ֖ם עַל־הַ֥ר סִינָֽי׃

καὶ ἔστωσαν ἕτοιμοι εἰς τὴν ἡμέραν τὴν τρίτην · τῇ γὰρ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καταβήσεται Κύριος ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σεινὰ ἐναντίον παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ.

Et sint paráti in diem tértium: in die enim tértia descéndet Dóminus coram omni plebe super montem Sínai.

והיו נכונים ליום השׁלישׁי כי ביום השׁלישׁי ירד יהוה לעיני כל העם אל הר סיני

And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

וְהִגְבַּלְתָּ֤ אֶת הָ־עָם֙ סָבִ֣יב לֵאמֹ֔ר הִשָּׁמְר֥וּ לָכֶ֛ם עֲל֥וֹת בָּהָ֖ר וּנְגֹ֣עַ בְּקָצֵ֑הוּ כָּל הַ־נֹּגֵ֥עַ בָּהָ֖ר מ֥וֹת יוּמָֽת׃

καὶ ἀφοριεῖς τὸν λαὸν κύκλῳ λέγων Προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς τοῦ ἀναβῆναι εἰς τὸ ὄρος καὶ θιγεῖν τι αὐτοῦ · πᾶς ὁ ἁψάμενος τοῦ ὄρους θανάτῳ τελευτήσει.

Constituésque términos pópulo per circúitum, et dices ad eos: Cavéte ne ascendátis in montem, nec tangátis fines illíus: omnis qui tetígerit montem, morte moriétur.

והגבלת את ההר סביב ואל העם תאמר השׁמרו לכם עלות בהר ונגע בקצהו כל הנגע בהר מות יומת

And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, [that ye] go [not] up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death:

לֹא־תִגַּ֨ע בּ֜וֹ יָ֗ד כִּֽי־סָק֤וֹל יִסָּקֵל֙ אוֹ־יָרֹ֣ה יִיָּרֶ֔ה אִם־בְּהֵמָ֥ה אִם־אִ֖ישׁ לֹ֣א יִחְיֶ֑ה בִּמְשֹׁךְ֙ הַיֹּבֵ֔ל הֵ֖מָּה יַעֲל֥וּ בָהָֽר׃

οὐχ ἅψεται αὐτοῦ χείρ · ἐν γὰρ λίθοις λιθοβοληθήσεται ἢ βολίδι κατατοξευθήσεται · ἐάν τε κτῆνος ἐάν τε ἄνθρωπος, οὐ ζήσεται. ὅταν αἱ φωναὶ καὶ αἱ σάλπιγγες καὶ ἡ νεφέλη ἀπέλθῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους, ἐκεῖνοι ἀναβήσονται ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος.

Manus non tanget eum, sed lapídibus opprimétur, aut confodiétur iáculis: sive iuméntum fúerit, sive homo, non vivet: cum cœ́perit clángere búccina, tunc ascéndant in montem.

לא־תגע בו יד כי סקל יסקל או ירא יראה אם־בהמה אם־אישׁ לא יחיה במושׁך היובל הם יעלו בהר

There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether [it be] beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.

[לא־תגע ב]׳ו? יד כי־סק#[ול יסקל או־ירה יירה] א[ם־בהמה] [אם־איש לא] יחיה ב[משך היבל המה יעלו בהר ׃

וַיֵּ֧רֶד מֹשֶׁ֛ה מִן הָ־הָ֖ר אֶל הָ־עָ֑ם וַיְקַדֵּשׁ֙ אֶת הָ־עָ֔ם וַֽיְכַבְּס֖וּ שִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃

κατέβη δὲ Μωυσῆς ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους πρὸς τὸν λαόν, καὶ ἡγίασεν αὐτούς · καὶ ἔπλυναν τὰ ἱμάτια.

Descendítque Móyses de monte ad pópulum, et sanctificávit eum. Cumque lavíssent vestiménta sua,

וירד משׁה מן ההר אל העם ויקדשׁ את העם ויכבסו שׂמלותם

And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר֙ אֶל הָ־עָ֔ם הֱי֥וּ נְכֹנִ֖ים לִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים אַֽל־תִּגְּשׁ֖וּ אֶל־אִשָּֽׁה׃

καὶ εἶπεν τῷ λαῷ Γίνεσθε ἕτοιμοι τρεῖς ἡμέρας, μὴ προσέλθητε γυναικί.

ait ad eos: Estóte paráti in diem tértium, et ne appropinquétis uxóribus vestris.

ויאמר אל העם היו נכונים לשׁלשׁת הימים אל־תגשׁו אל־אשׁה

And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at [your] wives.

וַיְהִי֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֜י בִּֽהְיֹ֣ת הַבֹּ֗קֶר וַיְהִי֩ קֹלֹ֨ת וּבְרָקִ֜ים וְעָנָ֤ן כָּבֵד֙ עַל הָ־הָ֔ר וְקֹ֥ל שֹׁפָ֖ר חָזָ֣ק מְאֹ֑ד וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד כָּל הָ־עָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

Ἐγένετο δὲ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ γενηθέντος πρὸς ὄρθρον, καὶ ἐγίνοντο φωναὶ καὶ ἀστραπαὶ καὶ νεφέλη γνοφώδης ἐπ᾽ ὄρους Σεινά, φωνὴ τῆς σάλπιγγος ἤχει μέγα · καὶ ἐπτοήθη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ὁ ἐν τῇ παρεμβολῇ.

Iamque advénerat tértius dies, et mane inclarúerat: et ecce cœpérunt audíri tonítrua, ac micáre fúlgura, et nubes densíssima operíre montem, clangórque búccinæ veheméntius perstrepébat: et tímuit pópulus qui erat in castris.

ויהי ביום השׁלישׁי בהיות הבקר ויהי קולות וברקים וענן כבד על ההר וקול השׁופר חזק מאד ויחרד כל העם אשׁר במחנה

And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that [was] in the camp trembled.

ויהי] [ביום השלישי בהית ]ה##[בו]ק##ר## וי#?[הי קלת וברקים וענן כבד על] [ההר וקל ]שופר חזק# מ#א##[ד ויחרד כל העם אשר במחנה ׃

וַיּוֹצֵ֨א מֹשֶׁ֧ה אֶת הָ־עָ֛ם לִקְרַ֥את הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים מִן הַֽ־מַּחֲנֶ֑ה וַיִּֽתְיַצְּב֖וּ בְּתַחְתִּ֥ית הָהָֽר׃

καὶ ἐξήγαγεν Μωυσῆς τὸν λαὸν εἰς συνάντησιν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐκ τῆς παρεμβολῆς, καὶ παρέστησαν ὑπὸ τὸ ὄρος Σινά.

Cumque eduxísset eos Móyses in occúrsum Dei de loco castrórum, stetérunt ad radíces montis.

ויוצא משׁה את העם לקראת האלהים מן המחנה ויתיצבו בתחתית ההר

And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.

וְהַ֤ר סִינַי֙ עָשַׁ֣ן כֻּלּ֔וֹ מִ֠פְּנֵי אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָרַ֥ד עָלָ֛יו יְהוָ֖ה בָּאֵ֑שׁ וַיַּ֤עַל עֲשָׁנוֹ֙ כְּעֶ֣שֶׁן הַכִּבְשָׁ֔ן וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד כָּל הָ־הָ֖ר מְאֹֽד׃

τὸ δὲ ὄρος τὸ Σινὰ ἐκαπνίζετο ὅλον διὰ τὸ καταβεβηκέναι ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸ τὸν θεὸν ἐν πυρί, καὶ ἀνέβαινεν ὁ καπνὸς ὡς καπνὸς καμίνου · καὶ ἐξέστη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς σφόδρα.

Totus autem mons Sínai fumábat, eo quod descendísset Dóminus super eum in igne: et ascénderet fumus ex eo quasi de fornáce, erátque omnis mons terríbilis.

והר סיני עשׁן כלו מפני אשׁר ירד יהוה עליו באשׁ ויעל עשׁנו כעשׁן הכבשׁן ויחרד כל ההר מאד

And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

וַיְהִי֙ ק֣וֹל הַשּׁוֹפָ֔ר הוֹלֵ֖ךְ וְחָזֵ֣ק מְאֹ֑ד מֹשֶׁ֣ה יְדַבֵּ֔ר וְהָאֱלֹהִ֖ים יַעֲנֶ֥נּוּ בְקֽוֹל׃

ἐγίνοντο δὲ αἱ φωναὶ τῆς σάλπιγγος προβαίνουσαι ἰσχυρότεραι σφόδρα · Μωσῆς ἐλάλησεν, ὁ δὲ θεὸς ἀπεκρίνατο αὐτῷ φωνῇ.

Et sónitus búccinæ paulátim crescébat in maius, et prolíxius tendebátur: Móyses loquebátur, et Deus respondébat ei.

ויהי קול השׁופר הלך וחזק מאד משׁה ידבר והאלהים יעננו בקול

And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

Descendítque Dóminus super montem Sínai in ipso montis vértice, et vocávit Móysen in cacúmen eius. Quo cum ascendísset,

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.

וְגַ֧ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים הַנִּגָּשִׁ֥ים אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה יִתְקַדָּ֑שׁוּ פֶּן־יִפְרֹ֥ץ בָּהֶ֖ם יְהוָֽה׃

καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ ἐγγίζοντες Κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ ἁγιασθήτωσαν, μή ποτε ἀπαλλάξῃ ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν Κύριος.

And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
