וַ֠יָּבֹאוּ שְׁנֵ֨י הַמַּלְאָכִ֤ים סְדֹ֨מָה֙ בָּעֶ֔רֶב וְל֖וֹט יֹשֵׁ֣ב בְּשַֽׁעַר־סְדֹ֑ם וַיַּרְא־לוֹט֙ וַיָּ֣קָם לִקְרָאתָ֔ם וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ אַפַּ֖יִם אָֽרְצָה׃

Ἦλθον δὲ οἱ δύο ἄγγελοι εἰς Σόδομα ἑσπέρας · Λὼτ δὲ ἐκάθητο παρὰ τὴν πύλην Σοδόμων. ἰδὼν δὲ Λὼτ ἀνέστη εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτοῖς, καὶ προσεκύνησεν τῷ προσώπῳ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ·

Venerúntque duo ángeli Sódomam véspere, et sedénte Lot in fóribus civitátis. Qui cum vidísset eos, surréxit, et ivit óbviam eis: adoravítque pronus in terram,

ויבאו שׁני המלאכים סדמה בערב ולוט ישׁב בשׁער־סדם וירא־לוט ויקם לקראתם וישׁתחוי אפים ארצה
1
And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing [them] rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

וַיֹּ֜אמֶר הִנֶּ֣ה נָּא אֲדֹנַ֗־י ס֣וּרוּ נָ֠א אֶל־בֵּ֨ית עַבְדְּכֶ֤ם וְלִ֨ינוּ֙ וְרַחֲצ֣וּ רַגְלֵיכֶ֔ם וְהִשְׁכַּמְתֶּ֖ם וַהֲלַכְתֶּ֣ם לְדַרְכְּכֶ֑ם וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לֹּ֔א כִּ֥י בָרְח֖וֹב נָלִֽין׃

καὶ εἶπεν Ἰδού, κύριοι, ἐκκλίνατε πρὸς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ παιδὸς ὑμῶν καὶ καταλύσατε, καὶ νίψατε τοὺς πόδας ὑμῶν, καὶ ὀρθρίσαντες ἀπελεύσεσθε εἰς τὴν ὁδὸν ὑμῶν. εἶπαν δέ Οὐχί, ἀλλ᾽ ἢ ἐν τῇ πλατείᾳ καταλύσομεν.

et dixit: Obsecro, dómini, declináte in domum púeri vestri, et manéte ibi: laváte pedes vestros, et mane proficiscémini in viam vestram. Qui dixérunt: Mínime, sed in platéa manébimus.

ויאמר הנה נא אדני סורו נא אל־בית עבדכם ולינו ורחצו רגליכם והשׁכמתם והלכתם לדרככם ויאמרו לא כי ברחב נלין
2
And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant ’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

וַיִּפְצַר בָּ֣־ם מְאֹ֔ד וַיָּסֻ֣רוּ אֵלָ֔יו וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ אֶל בֵּית֑־וֹ וַיַּ֤עַשׂ לָהֶם֙ מִשְׁתֶּ֔ה וּמַצּ֥וֹת אָפָ֖ה וַיֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃

καὶ παρεβιάζετο αὐτούς, καὶ ἐξέκλιναν πρὸς αὐτόν. καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ · καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτοῖς πότον καὶ ἀζύμους ἔπεψεν αὐτοῖς, καὶ ἔφαγον

Cómpulit illos óppido ut divérterent ad eum: ingressísque domum illíus fecit convívium, et coxit ázyma, et comedérunt.

ויפצר בם מאד ויסרו אליו ויבאו אל ביתו ויעשׂ להם משׁתה ומצות אפה ויאכלו
3
And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

טֶרֶם֮ יִשְׁכָּבוּ֒ וְאַנְשֵׁ֨י הָעִ֜יר אַנְשֵׁ֤י סְדֹם֙ נָסַ֣בּוּ עַל הַ־בַּ֔יִת מִנַּ֖עַר וְעַד־זָקֵ֑ן כָּל הָ־עָ֖ם מִקָּצֶֽה׃
4
πρὸ τοῦ κοιμηθῆναι. καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες τῆς πόλεως οἱ Σοδομεῖται περιεκύκλωσαν τὴν οἰκίαν ἀπὸ νεανίσκου ἕως πρεσβυτέρου, ἅπας ὁ λαὸς ἅμα.

Prius autem quam irent cúbitum, viri civitátis vallavérunt domum a púero usque ad senem, omnis pópulus simul.

טרם ישׁכבו אנשׁי העיר אנשׁי סדם נסבו על הבית מנער ועד־זקן כל העם מקצה

But before they lay down, the men of the city, [even] the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

וַיִּקְרְא֤וּ אֶל־לוֹט֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ ל֔וֹ אַיֵּ֧ה הָאֲנָשִׁ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֥אוּ אֵלֶ֖יךָ הַלָּ֑יְלָה הוֹצִיאֵ֣ם אֵלֵ֔ינוּ וְנֵדְעָ֖ה אֹתָֽם׃
5
καὶ ἐξεκαλοῦντο τὸν Λώτ, καὶ ἔλεγον πρὸς αὐτόν Ποῦ εἰσιν οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ εἰσελθόντες πρὸς σὲ τὴν νύκτα; ἐξάγαγε αὐτοὺς πρὸς ἡμᾶς, ἵνα συγγενώμεθα αὐτοῖς.

Vocaverúntque Lot, et dixérunt ei: Ubi sunt viri qui introiérunt ad te nocte? educ illos huc, ut cognoscámus eos.

ויקראו אל־לוט ויאמרו אליו איה האנושׁים אשׁר־באו אליך הלילה הוציאם אלינו ונדע אתם

And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where [are] the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

וַיֵּצֵ֧א אֲלֵהֶ֛ם ל֖וֹט הַפֶּ֑תְחָה וְהַדֶּ֖לֶת סָגַ֥ר אַחֲרָֽיו׃

ἐξῆλθεν δὲ Λὼτ πρὸς αὐτούς, καὶ τὴν θύραν προσέῳξεν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ.

Egréssus ad eos Lot, post tergum occlúdens óstium, ait:

ויצא אליהם לוט הפתח והדלת סגרו אחריו

And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,

וַיֹּאמַ֑ר אַל־נָ֥א אַחַ֖י תָּרֵֽעוּ׃

εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτούς Μηδαμῶς, ἀδελφοί, μὴ πονηρεύσησθε.

Nolíte, quæso, fratres mei, nolíte malum hoc fácere.

ויאמר אל־נא אחי תריעו

And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.

הִנֵּה־נָ֨א לִ֜י שְׁתֵּ֣י בָנ֗וֹת אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־יָדְעוּ֙ אִ֔ישׁ אוֹצִֽיאָה־נָּ֤א אֶתְהֶן֙ אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם וַעֲשׂ֣וּ לָהֶ֔ן כַּטּ֖וֹב בְּעֵינֵיכֶ֑ם רַ֠ק לָֽאֲנָשִׁ֤ים הָאֵל֙ אַל־תַּעֲשׂ֣וּ דָבָ֔ר כִּֽי־עַל־כֵּ֥ן בָּ֖אוּ בְּצֵ֥ל קֹרָתִֽי׃

εἰσὶν δέ μοι δύο θυγατέρες, αἳ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ἄνδρα · ἐξάξω αὐτὰς πρὸς ὑμᾶς, καὶ χρήσασθε αὐταῖς καθὰ ἀρέσκῃ ὑμῖν · μόνον εἰς τοὺς ἄνδρας τούτους μὴ ποιήσητε μηδὲν ἄδικον, οὗ εἵνεκεν εἰσῆλθον ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην τῶν δοκῶν μου.

Hábeo duas fílias, quæ necdum cognovérunt virum: edúcam eas ad vos, et abutímini eis sicut vobis placúerit, dúmmodo viris istis nihil mali faciátis, quia ingréssi sunt sub umbra cúlminis mei.

הנה־נא לי שׁתי בנות אשׁר לא־ידעו אישׁ הוציא נא אתהן אליכם ועשׂו להן כטוב בעיניכם רק לאנשׁים האלה אל־תעשׂו דבר כי־על־כן באו בצל קורתי

Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as [is] good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ ׀ גֶּשׁ־הָ֗לְאָה וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ הָאֶחָ֤ד בָּֽא לָ־גוּר֙ וַיִּשְׁפֹּ֣ט שָׁפ֔וֹט עַתָּ֕ה נָרַ֥ע לְךָ֖ מֵהֶ֑ם וַיִּפְצְר֨וּ בָאִ֤ישׁ בְּלוֹט֙ מְאֹ֔ד וַֽיִּגְּשׁ֖וּ לִשְׁבֹּ֥ר הַדָּֽלֶת׃

εἶπαν δέ Ἀπόστα ἐκεῖ · εἰσῆλθες παροικεῖν, μὴ καὶ κρίσιν κρῖναι; νῦν οὖν σὲ κακώσομεν μᾶλλον ἢ ἐκείνους. καὶ παρεβιάζοντο τὸν ἄνδρα τὸν Λὼτ σφόδρα, καὶ ἤγγισαν συντρίψαι τὴν θύραν.

At illi dixérunt: Recéde illuc. Et rursus: Ingréssus es, ínquiunt, ut ádvena: numquid ut iúdices? te ergo ipsum magis quam hos affligémus. Vimque faciébant Lot vehementíssime: iamque prope erat ut effríngerent fores.

ויאמרו גשׁה הלאה ויאמרו אחד בא לגור וישׁפט גם שׁפט עתה נריע לך מהם ויפצרו באישׁ בלוט מאד ויגשׁו לשׁבר הדלת
9
And they said, Stand back. And they said [again], This one [fellow] came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, [even] Lot, and came near to break the door.

וַיִּשְׁלְח֤וּ הָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙ אֶת יָדָ֔־ם וַיָּבִ֧יאוּ אֶת־ל֛וֹט אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם הַבָּ֑יְתָה וְאֶת הַ־דֶּ֖לֶת סָגָֽרוּ׃
10
ἐκτείναντες δὲ οἱ ἄνδρες τὰς χεῖρας εἰσεσπάσαντο τὸν Λὼτ πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς εἰς τὸν οἶκον, καὶ τὴν θύραν τοῦ οἴκου ἀπέκλεισαν ·

Et ecce misérunt manum viri, et introduxérunt ad se Lot, clauserúntque óstium:

וישׁלחו האנושׁים את ידם ויביאו את־לוט אליהם הביתה ואת הדלת סגרו
10
But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.

וְֽאֶת הָ־אֲנָשִׁ֞ים אֲשֶׁר־פֶּ֣תַח הַבַּ֗יִת הִכּוּ֙ בַּסַּנְוֵרִ֔ים מִקָּטֹ֖ן וְעַד־גָּד֑וֹל וַיִּלְא֖וּ לִמְצֹ֥א הַפָּֽתַח׃
11
τοὺς δὲ ἄνδρας τοὺς ὄντας ἐπὶ τῆς θύρας τοῦ οἴκου ἐπάταξαν ἀορασίᾳ, ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου · καὶ παρελύθησαν ζητοῦντες τὴν θύραν.

et eos, qui foris erant, percussérunt cæcitáte a mínimo usque ad máximum, ita ut óstium inveníre non possent.

ואת האנשׁים אשׁר־פתח הבית הכו בסנורים מקטן ועד־גדול וילאו למצא הפתח
11
And they smote the men that [were] at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים אֶל־ל֗וֹט עֹ֚ד מִֽי לְ־ךָ֣ פֹ֔ה חָתָן֙ וּבָנֶ֣יךָ וּבְנֹתֶ֔יךָ וְכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר לְ־ךָ֖ בָּעִ֑יר הוֹצֵ֖א מִן הַ־מָּקֽוֹם׃
12
εἶπαν δὲ οἱ ἄνδρες πρὸς Λώτ Ἔστιν τίς σοι ὧδε, γαμβροὶ ἢ υἱοὶ ἢ θυγατέρες, ἢ εἴ τίς σοι ἄλλος ἐστὶν ἐν τῇ πόλει, ἐξάγαγε ἐκ τοῦ τόπου τούτου ·

Dixérunt autem ad Lot: Habes hic quémpiam tuórum? génerum, aut fílios, aut fílias, omnes, qui tui sunt, educ de urbe hac:

ויאמרו המלאכים אל־לוט עוד מי לך פה חתן בניך ובנתיך וכל אשׁר לך בעיר הוציא מן המקום הזה

And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring [them] out of this place:

כִּֽי־מַשְׁחִתִ֣ים אֲנַ֔חְנוּ אֶת הַ־מָּק֖וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה כִּֽי־גָֽדְלָ֤ה צַעֲקָתָם֙ אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וַיְשַׁלְּחֵ֥נוּ יְהוָ֖ה לְשַׁחֲתָֽהּ׃
13
ὅτι ἀπόλλυμεν ἡμεῖς τὸν τόπον τοῦτον, ὅτι ὑψώθη ἡ κραυγὴ αὐτῶν ἐναντίον Κυρίου, καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἡμᾶς Κύριος ἐκτρίψαι αὐτήν.

delébimus enim locum istum, eo quod incréverit clamor eórum coram Dómino, qui misit nos ut perdámus illos.

כי משׁחיתים אנחנו את המקום הזה כי־גדלה צעקתם את־פני יהוה וישׁלחנו יהוה להשׁחיתה

For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.

וַיֵּצֵ֨א ל֜וֹט וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר ׀ אֶל חֲתָנָ֣י־ו ׀ לֹקְחֵ֣י בְנֹתָ֗יו וַיֹּ֨אמֶר֙ ק֤וּמוּ צְּאוּ֙ מִן הַ־מָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה כִּֽי־מַשְׁחִ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה אֶת הָ־עִ֑יר וַיְהִ֥י כִמְצַחֵ֖ק בְּעֵינֵ֥י חֲתָנָֽיו׃

ἐξῆλθεν δὲ Λὼτ καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς τοὺς γαμβροὺς αὐτοῦ τοὺς εἰληφότας τὰς θυγατέρας αὐτοῦ, καὶ εἶπεν Ἀνάστητε καὶ ἐξέλθατε ἐκ τοῦ τόπου τούτου, ὅτι ἐκτρίβει Κύριος τὴν πόλιν. ἔδοξεν δὲ γελοιάζειν ἐναντίον τῶν γαμβρῶν αὐτοῦ.

Egréssus ítaque Lot, locútus est ad géneros suos qui acceptúri erant fílias eius, et dixit: Súrgite, egredímini de loco isto: quia delébit Dóminus civitátem hanc. Et visus est eis quasi ludens loqui.

ויצא לוט וידבר אל חתניו לקחי בנתיו ויאמר קומו צאו מן המקום הזה כי־משׁחית יהוה את העיר ויהי כמצחק בעיני חתניו

And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

וּכְמוֹ֙ הַשַּׁ֣חַר עָלָ֔ה וַיָּאִ֥יצוּ הַמַּלְאָכִ֖ים בְּל֣וֹט לֵאמֹ֑ר קוּם֩ קַ֨ח אֶֽת אִשְׁתְּ־ךָ֜ וְאֶת־שְׁתֵּ֤י בְנֹתֶ֨יךָ֙ הַנִּמְצָאֹ֔ת פֶּן־תִּסָּפֶ֖ה בַּעֲוֺ֥ן הָעִֽיר׃
15
ἡνίκα δὲ ὄρθρος ἐγίνετο, ἐπεσπούδαζον οἱ ἄγγελοι τὸν Λὼτ λέγοντες Ἀναστὰς λάβε τὴν γυναῖκά σου καὶ τὰς δύο θυγατέρας σου ἃς ἔχεις καὶ ἔξελθε, ἵνα μὴ συναπόλῃ ταῖς ἀνομίαις τῆς πόλεως.

Cumque esset mane, cogébant eum ángeli, dicéntes: Surge, tolle uxórem tuam, et duas fílias quas habes: ne et tu páriter péreas in scélere civitátis.

וכמו השׁחר עלה ויאיצו המלאכים בלוט לאמר קום קח את אשׁתך ואת־שׁתי בנתיך הנמצאות פן־תספה בעון העיר
15
And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

וַֽיִּתְמַהְמָ֓הּ ׀ וַיַּחֲזִ֨קוּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים בְּיָד֣וֹ וּבְיַד אִשְׁתּ֗־וֹ וּבְיַד֙ שְׁתֵּ֣י בְנֹתָ֔יו בְּחֶמְלַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה עָלָ֑יו וַיֹּצִאֻ֥הוּ וַיַּנִּחֻ֖הוּ מִח֥וּץ לָעִֽיר׃
16
καὶ ἐταράχθησαν · καὶ ἐκράτησαν οἱ ἄγγελοι τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν καὶ τῆς χειρὸς τῆς γυναικὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ τῶν χειρῶν τῶν δύο θυγατέρων αὐτοῦ, ἐν τῷ φείσασθαι Κύριον αὐτοῦ.

Dissimulánte illo, apprehendérunt manum eius, et manum uxóris, ac duárum filiárum eius, eo quod párceret Dóminus illi.

ויתמהמה ויחזקו האנושׁים בידו וביד אשׁתו וביד שׁתי בנתיו בחמלת יהוה עליו ויוציאהו ויניחהו מחוץ לעיר
16
And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

וַיְהִי֩ כְהוֹצִיאָ֨ם אֹתָ֜ם הַח֗וּצָה וַיֹּ֨אמֶר֙ הִמָּלֵ֣ט עַל נַפְשֶׁ֔־ךָ אַל־תַּבִּ֣יט אַחֲרֶ֔יךָ וְאַֽל־תַּעֲמֹ֖ד בְּכָל הַ־כִּכָּ֑ר הָהָ֥רָה הִמָּלֵ֖ט פֶּן־תִּסָּפֶֽה׃

καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ἐξήγαγον αὐτοὺς ἔξω καὶ εἶπαν Σώζων σῶζε τὴν σεαυτοῦ ψυχήν · μὴ περιβλέψῃς εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω μηδὲ στῇς ἐν πάσῃ τῇ περιχώρῳ · εἰς τὸ ὄρος σώζου, μή ποτε συνπαραλημφθῇς.

Eduxerúntque eum, et posuérunt extra civitátem: ibíque locúti sunt ad eum, dicéntes: Salva ánimam tuam: noli respícere post tergum, nec stes in omni circa regióne: sed in monte salvum te fac, ne et tu simul péreas.

ויהי כהוציאם אתם החוצה ויאמר המלט על נפשׁך אל תבט אחריך ואל־תעמד בכל הככר ההרה המלט פן־תספה
17
And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ל֖וֹט אֲלֵהֶ֑ם אַל־נָ֖א אֲדֹנָֽי׃

εἶπεν δὲ Λὼτ πρὸς αὐτούς Δέομαι, κύριε,

Dixítque Lot ad eos: Quæso Dómine mi,

ויאמר לוט אליהם אל־נא אדני

And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:

הִנֵּה־נָ֠א מָצָ֨א עַבְדְּךָ֣ חֵן֮ בְּעֵינֶיךָ֒ וַתַּגְדֵּ֣ל חַסְדְּךָ֗ אֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשִׂ֨יתָ֙ עִמָּדִ֔י לְהַחֲי֖וֹת אֶת נַפְשִׁ֑־י וְאָנֹכִ֗י לֹ֤א אוּכַל֙ לְהִמָּלֵ֣ט הָהָ֔רָה פֶּן תִּדְבָּקַ֥־נִי הָרָעָ֖ה וָמַֽתִּי׃

ἐπειδὴ εὗρεν ὁ παῖς σου ἔλεος ἐναντίον σου καὶ ἐμεγάλυνας τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου, ὃ ποιεῖς ἐπ᾽ ἐμέ, τοῦ ζῇν τὴν ψυχήν μου · ἐγὼ δὲ οὐ δυνήσομαι διασωθῆναι εἰς τὸ ὄρος, μὴ καταλάβῃ με τὰ κακὰ καὶ ἀποθάνω ·

quia invénit servus tuus grátiam coram te, et magnificásti misericórdiam tuam quam fecísti mecum, ut salváres ánimam meam, nec possum in monte salvári, ne forte apprehéndat me malum, et móriar:

הנה־נא מצא עבדך חן בעיניך ותגדל חסדך אשׁר עשׂית עמדי להחיות את נפשׁי ואנכי לא אוכל להמלט ההרה פן תדבקני הרעה ומתי
19
Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I can not escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:

הִנֵּה־נָ֠א הָעִ֨יר הַזֹּ֧את קְרֹבָ֛ה לָנ֥וּס שָׁ֖מָּה וְהִ֣יא מִצְעָ֑ר אִמָּלְטָ֨ה נָּ֜א שָׁ֗מָּה הֲלֹ֥א מִצְעָ֛ר הִ֖וא וּתְחִ֥י נַפְשִֽׁי׃

ἰδοὺ ἡ πόλις αὕτη ἐγγὺς τοῦ καταφυγεῖν με ἐκεῖ, ἥ ἐστιν μικρά · ἐκεῖ σωθήσομαι · οὐ μικρά ἐστιν; καὶ ζήσεται ἡ ψυχή μου ἕνεκεν σοῦ.

est cívitas hæc iuxta, ad quam possum fúgere, parva, et salvábor in ea: numquid non módica est, et vivet ánima mea?

הנה־נא העיר הזאת קרובה לנוס שׁמה והיא מצער אמלט נא שׁמה הלוא מצער היא ותחיה נפשׁי

Behold now, this city [is] near to flee unto, and it [is] a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, ( [is] it not a little one? ) and my soul shall live.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔יו הִנֵּה֙ נָשָׂ֣אתִי פָנֶ֔יךָ גַּ֖ם לַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה לְבִלְתִּ֛י הָפְכִּ֥י אֶת הָ־עִ֖יר אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּֽרְתָּ׃

καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ἰδοὺ ἐθαύμασά σου τὸ πρόσωπον καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ ῥήματι τούτῳ τοῦ μὴ καταστρέψαι τὴν πόλιν περὶ ἧς ἐλάλησας ·

σπεῦσον οὖν τοῦ σωθῆναι ἐκεῖ · οὐ γὰρ δυνήσομαι ποιῆσαι πρᾶγμα ἕως τοῦ σε ἐλθεῖν ἐκεῖ. διὰ τοῦτο ἐπωνόμασεν τὸ ὄνομα τῆς πόλεως ἐκείνης Σήγωρ.

And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

Καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Λὼτ ἐκ Σήγωρ, καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐν τῷ ὄρει καὶ αἱ δύο θυγατέρες αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ · ἐφοβήθη γὰρ κατοικῆσαι ἐν Σήγωρ · καὶ ᾤκησεν ἐν τῷ σπηλαίῳ αὐτὸς καὶ αἱ δύο θυγατέρες αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ.

ויעל לוט מצער וישׁב בהר ושׁתי בנתיו עמו כי ירא לשׁבת בצער וישׁב במערה הוא ושׁתי בנתיו עמו

And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

εἶπεν δὲ ἡ πρεσβυτέρα πρὸς τὴν νεωτέραν Ὁ πατὴρ ἡμῶν πρεσβύτερος, καὶ οὐδείς ἐστιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὃς εἰσελεύσεται πρὸς ἡμᾶς ὡς καθήκει πάσῃ τῇ γῇ.

Dedérunt ítaque patri suo bíbere vinum nocte illa. Et ingréssa est maior, dormivítque cum patre: at ille non sensit, nec quando accúbuit fília, nec quando surréxit.

Altera quoque die dixit maior ad minórem: Ecce dormívi heri cum patre meo, demus ei bíbere vinum étiam hac nocte, et dórmies cum eo, ut salvémus semen de patre nostro.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, [and] lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

Minor quoque péperit fílium, et vocávit nomen eius Ammon, id est, Fílius pópuli mei: ipse est pater Ammonitárum usque hódie.

והצעירה גם היא ילדה בן ותקרא את שׁמו בנ עמי הוא אבי בני־עמון עד היום

And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same [is] the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.
