וַֽיהוָ֛ה פָּקַ֥ד אֶת־שָׂרָ֖ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמָ֑ר וַיַּ֧עַשׂ יְהוָ֛ה לְשָׂרָ֖ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽר׃

Καὶ Κύριος ἐπεσκέψατο τὴν Σάρραν, καθὰ εἶπεν · καὶ ἐποίησεν Κύριος τῇ Σάρρᾳ καθὰ ἐλάλησεν.

Visitávit autem Dóminus Saram, sicut promíserat: et implévit quæ locútus est.

ויהוה פקד את־שׂרה כאשׁר אמר ויעשׂ יהוה לשׂרה כאשׁר דבר

And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

וַתַּהַר֩ וַתֵּ֨לֶד שָׂרָ֧ה לְאַבְרָהָ֛ם בֵּ֖ן לִזְקֻנָ֑יו לַמּוֹעֵ֕ד אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר אֹת֖וֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃
2
καὶ συλλαβοῦσα ἔτεκεν Σάρρα τῷ Ἀβραὰμ υἱὸν εἰς τὸ γῆρας, εἰς τὸν καιρὸν καθὰ ἐλάλησεν αὐτῷ Κύριος.

Concepítque et péperit fílium in senectúte sua, témpore quo prædíxerat ei Deus.

ותהר ותלד שׂרה לאברהם בן לזקניו למועד אשׁר־דבר אתו אלהים
2
For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

וַיִּקְרָ֨א אַבְרָהָ֜ם אֶֽת־שֶׁם בְּנ֧־וֹ הַנּֽוֹלַד ל֛־וֹ אֲשֶׁר־יָלְדָה לּ֥־וֹ שָׂרָ֖ה יִצְחָֽק׃

καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Ἀβραὰμ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ τοῦ γενομένου αὐτῷ, ὃν ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ Σάρρα, Ἰσαάκ ·

Vocavítque Abraham nomen fílii sui, quem génuit ei Sara, Isaac:

ויקרא אברהם את־שׁם בנו הנולד לו אשׁר־ילדה לו שׂרה יצחק
3
And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

וַיָּ֤מָל אַבְרָהָם֙ אֶת־יִצְחָ֣ק בְּנ֔וֹ בֶּן־שְׁמֹנַ֖ת יָמִ֑ים כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה אֹת֖וֹ אֱלֹהִֽים׃

περιέτεμεν δὲ Ἀβραὰμ τὸν Ἰσαὰκ τῇ ὀγδόῃ ἡμέρᾳ, καθὰ ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ ὁ θεός.

et circumcídit eum octávo die, sicut præcéperat ei Deus,

וימל אברהם את־יצחק בנו בן־שׁמנת ימים כאשׁר צוה אתו אלהים
4
And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.

וְאַבְרָהָ֖ם בֶּן־מְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה בְּהִוָּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ אֵ֖ת יִצְחָ֥ק בְּנֽוֹ׃

Ἀβραὰμ δὲ ἦν ἑκατὸν ἐτῶν, ἡνίκα ἐγένετο αὐτῷ Ἰσαὰκ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ.

cum centum esset annórum: hac quippe ætáte patris, natus est Isaac.

ואברהם בן־מאת שׁנה בהולד לו את יצחק בנו

And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

וַתֹּ֣אמֶר שָׂרָ֔ה צְחֹ֕ק עָ֥שָׂה לִ֖י אֱלֹהִ֑ים כָּל הַ־שֹּׁמֵ֖עַ יִֽצְחַק לִֽ־י׃

εἶπεν δὲ Σάρρα Γέλωτά μοι ἐποίησεν Κύριος · ὃς γὰρ ἐὰν ἀκούσῃ συγχαρεῖταί μοι.

Dixítque Sara: Risum fecit mihi Deus: quicúmque audíerit, corridébit mihi.

ותאמר שׂרה צחק עשׂה לי אלהים כל השׁמע יצחק לי
6
And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, [so that] all that hear will laugh with me.

וַתֹּ֗אמֶר מִ֤י מִלֵּל֙ לְאַבְרָהָ֔ם הֵינִ֥יקָה בָנִ֖ים שָׂרָ֑ה כִּֽי־יָלַ֥דְתִּי בֵ֖ן לִזְקֻנָֽיו׃

καὶ εἶπεν Τίς ἀναγγελεῖ τῷ Ἀβραάμ ὅτι θηλάζει παιδίον Σάρρα? ὅτι ἔτεκον υἱὸν ἐν τῷ γήρει μου.

Rursúmque ait: Quis auditúrus créderet Abraham quod Sara lactáret fílium, quem péperit ei iam seni?

ותאמר מי מלל לאברהם היניקה בנים שׂרה כי־ילדתי לו בן לזקניו
7
And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born [him] a son in his old age.

וַיִּגְדַּ֥ל הַיֶּ֖לֶד וַיִּגָּמַ֑ל וַיַּ֤עַשׂ אַבְרָהָם֙ מִשְׁתֶּ֣ה גָד֔וֹל בְּי֖וֹם הִגָּמֵ֥ל אֶת־יִצְחָֽק׃
8
Καὶ ηὐξήθη τὸ παιδίον καὶ ἀπεγαλακτίσθη · καὶ ἐποίησεν Ἀβραὰμ δοχὴν μεγάλην ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ ἀπεγαλακτίσθη Ἰσαὰκ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ.

Crevit ígitur puer, et ablactátus est: fecítque Abraham grande convívium in die ablactatiónis eius.

ויגדל הילד ויגמל ויעשׂ אברהם משׁתה גדול ביום הגמל את־יצחק בנו
8
And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the [same] day that Isaac was weaned.

וַתֵּ֨רֶא שָׂרָ֜ה אֶֽת־בֶּן־הָגָ֧ר הַמִּצְרִ֛ית אֲשֶׁר־יָלְדָ֥ה לְאַבְרָהָ֖ם מְצַחֵֽק׃

ἰδοῦσα δὲ Σάρρα τὸν υἱὸν Ἁγὰρ τῆς Αἰγυπτίας, ὃς ἐγένετο τῷ Ἀβραάμ, παίζοντα μετὰ Ἰσαὰκ τοῦ υἱοῦ ἑαυτῆς,

Cumque vidísset Sara fílium Agar Ægýptiæ ludéntem cum Isaac fílio suo, dixit ad Abraham:

ותרא שׂרה את־בן־הגר המצרית אשׁר־ילדה לאברהם מצחק

And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.

וַתֹּ֨אמֶר֙ לְאַבְרָהָ֔ם גָּרֵ֛שׁ הָאָמָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את וְאֶת בְּנָ֑־הּ כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יִירַשׁ֙ בֶּן הָ־אָמָ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את עִם בְּנִ֖־י עִם־יִצְחָֽק׃
10
καὶ εἶπεν τῷ Ἀβραάμ Ἔκβαλε τὴν παιδίσκην ταύτην καὶ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτῆς · οὐ γὰρ μὴ κληρονομήσει ὁ υἱὸς τῆς παιδίσκης μετὰ τοῦ υἱοῦ μου Ἰσαάκ.

Eice ancíllam hanc, et fílium eius: non enim erit heres fílius ancíllæ cum fílio meo Isaac.

ותאמר לאברהם גרשׁ את האמה הזאת ואת בנה כי לא יירשׁ בן האמה הזאת עם בני עם־יצחק
10
Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, [even] with Isaac.

וַיֵּ֧רַע הַדָּבָ֛ר מְאֹ֖ד בְּעֵינֵ֣י אַבְרָהָ֑ם עַ֖ל אוֹדֹ֥ת בְּנֽוֹ׃

σκληρὸν δὲ ἐφάνη τὸ ῥῆμα σφόδρα ἐναντίον Ἀβραὰμ περὶ τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ Ἰσμαήλ.

Dure accépit hoc Abraham pro fílio suo.

וירע הדבר מאד בעיני אברהם על אדות בנו

And the thing was very grievous in Abraham ’s sight because of his son.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֜ים אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֗ם אַל־יֵרַ֤ע בְּעֵינֶ֨יךָ֙ עַל הַ־נַּ֣עַר וְעַל אֲמָתֶ֔־ךָ כֹּל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תֹּאמַ֥ר אֵלֶ֛יךָ שָׂרָ֖ה שְׁמַ֣ע בְּקֹלָ֑הּ כִּ֣י בְיִצְחָ֔ק יִקָּרֵ֥א לְךָ֖ זָֽרַע׃

εἶπεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς τῷ Ἀβραάμ Μὴ σκληρὸν ἔστω τὸ ῥῆμα ἐναντίον σου περὶ τοῦ παιδίου καὶ περὶ τῆς παιδίσκης · πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν εἴπῃ σοι Σάρρα, ἄκουε τῆς φωνῆς αὐτῆς · ὅτι ἐν Ἰσαὰκ κληθήσεταί σοι σπέρμα.

Cui dixit Deus: Non tibi videátur ásperum super púero, et super ancílla tua: ómnia quæ díxerit tibi Sara, audi vocem eius: quia in Isaac vocábitur tibi semen.

ויאמר אלהים אל־אברהם אל־ירע בעיניך על הנער ועל אמתך כל אשׁר תאמר אליך שׂרה שׁמע בקולה כי ביצחק יקרא לך זרע

And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

וְגַ֥ם אֶת־בֶּן הָ־אָמָ֖ה לְג֣וֹי אֲשִׂימֶ֑נּוּ כִּ֥י זַרְעֲךָ֖ הֽוּא׃

καὶ τὸν υἱὸν δὲ τῆς παιδίσκης ταύτης, εἰς ἔθνος μέγα ποιήσω αὐτόν, ὅτι σπέρμα σόν ἐστιν.

Sed et fílium ancíllæ fáciam in gentem magnam, quia semen tuum est.

וגם את־בן האמה הזאת לגוי גדול אשׂימנו כי זרעך הוא

And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he [is] thy seed.

וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֣ם אַבְרָהָ֣ם ׀ בַּבֹּ֡קֶר וַיִּֽקַּֽח־לֶחֶם֩ וְחֵ֨מַת מַ֜יִם וַיִּתֵּ֣ן אֶל־הָ֠גָר שָׂ֧ם עַל שִׁכְמָ֛־הּ וְאֶת הַ־יֶּ֖לֶד וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֶ֑הָ וַתֵּ֣לֶךְ וַתֵּ֔תַע בְּמִדְבַּ֖ר בְּאֵ֥ר שָֽׁבַע׃

ἀνέστη δὲ Ἀβραὰμ τὸ πρωί, καὶ ἔλαβεν ἄρτους καὶ ἀσκὸν ὕδατος καὶ ἔδωκεν Ἁγάρ · καὶ ἐπέθηκεν ἐπὶ τὸν ὦμον καὶ τὸ παιδίον, καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτήν · ἀπελθοῦσα δὲ ἐπλανᾶτο τὴν ἔρημον, κατὰ τὸ φρέαρ τοῦ ὅρκου.

Surréxit ítaque Abraham mane, et tollens panem et utrem aquæ, impósuit scápulæ eius, tradidítque púerum, et dimísit eam. Quæ cum abiísset, errábat in solitúdine Bersabée.

וישׁכם אברהם בבקר ויקח־לחם וחמת מים ויתן אל־הגר שׂם על שׁכמה ואת הילד וישׁלחה ותלך ותתע במדבר באר שׁבע

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave [it] unto Hagar, putting [it] on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

וַיִּכְל֥וּ הַמַּ֖יִם מִן הַ־חֵ֑מֶת וַתַּשְׁלֵ֣ךְ אֶת הַ־יֶּ֔לֶד תַּ֖חַת אַחַ֥ד הַשִּׂיחִֽם׃
15
ἐξέλειπεν δὲ τὸ ὕδωρ ἐκ τοῦ ἀσκοῦ, καὶ ἔρριψεν τὸ παιδίον ὑποκάτω μιᾶς ἐλάτης ·

Cumque consúmpta esset aqua in utre, abiécit púerum subter unam árborum, quæ ibi erant.

ויכלו המים מן החמת ותשׁליך את הילד תחת אחד השׂחים
15
And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.

וַתֵּלֶךְ֩ וַתֵּ֨שֶׁב לָ֜הּ מִנֶּ֗גֶד הַרְחֵק֙ כִּמְטַחֲוֵ֣י קֶ֔שֶׁת כִּ֣י אָֽמְרָ֔ה אַל־אֶרְאֶ֖ה בְּמ֣וֹת הַיָּ֑לֶד וַתֵּ֣שֶׁב מִנֶּ֔גֶד וַתִּשָּׂ֥א אֶת קֹלָ֖־הּ וַתֵּֽבְךְּ׃
16
ἀπελθοῦσα δὲ ἐκάθητο ἀπέναντι αὐτοῦ μακρότερον, ὡσεὶ τόξου βολήν · εἶπεν γάρ Οὐ μὴ ἴδω τὸν θάνατον τοῦ παιδίου μου. καὶ ἐκάθητο ἀπέναντι αὐτοῦ μακρόθεν · ἀναβοῆσαν δὲ τὸ παιδίον ἔκλαυσεν.

Et ábiit, sedítque e regióne procul quantum potest arcus iácere: dixit enim: Non vidébo moriéntem púerum: et sedens contra, levávit vocem suam et flevit.

ותלך ותשׁב לה מנגד הרחקה כמטוי קשׁת כי אמרה אל־אראה במות הילד ותשׁב מנגד ותשׂא את קולה ותבך
16
And she went, and sat her down over against [him] a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against [him], and lift up her voice, and wept.

וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע אֱלֹהִים֮ אֶת־ק֣וֹל הַנַּעַר֒ וַיִּקְרָא֩ מַלְאַ֨ךְ אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ אֶל־הָגָר֙ מִן הַ־שָּׁמַ֔יִם וַיֹּ֥אמֶר לָ֖הּ מַה לָּ֣־ךְ הָגָ֑ר אַל־תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י כִּֽי־שָׁמַ֧ע אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶל־ק֥וֹל הַנַּ֖עַר בַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הוּא־שָֽׁם׃

εἰσήκουσεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ παιδίου ἐκ τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἦν, καὶ ἐκάλεσεν ἄγγελος θεοῦ τὴν Ἁγὰρ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Τί ἐστιν, Ἁγάρ? μὴ φοβοῦ · ἐπακήκοεν γὰρ ὁ θεὸς τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ παιδίου σου ἐκ τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἐστίν.

Exaudívit autem Deus vocem púeri: vocavítque ángelus Dei Agar de cælo, dicens: Quid agis Agar? noli timére: exaudívit enim Deus vocem púeri de loco in quo est.

וישׁמע אלהים את־קול הנער ויקרא מלאך אלהים אל־הגר מן השׁמים ויאמר לה מלכי הגר אל־תיראי כי־שׁמע אלהים את־קול הנער באשׁר הוא־שׁם
17
And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he [is].

ק֚וּמִי שְׂאִ֣י אֶת הַ־נַּ֔עַר וְהַחֲזִ֥יקִי אֶת יָדֵ֖־ךְ בּ֑וֹ כִּֽי לְ־ג֥וֹי גָּד֖וֹל אֲשִׂימֶֽנּוּ׃
18
ἀνάστηθι καὶ λάβε τὸ παιδίον, καὶ κράτησον τῇ χειρί σου αὐτό · εἰς γάρ ἔθνος μέγα ποιήσω αὐτόν.

Surge, tolle púerum, et tene manum illíus: quia in gentem magnam fáciam eum.

קומי שׂאי את הנער וחזקי את ידך בו כי לגוי גדול אשׂימנו

Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.

וַיִּפְקַ֤ח אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶת עֵינֶ֔י־הָ וַתֵּ֖רֶא בְּאֵ֣ר מָ֑יִם וַתֵּ֜לֶךְ וַתְּמַלֵּ֤א אֶת הַ־חֵ֨מֶת֙ מַ֔יִם וַתַּ֖שְׁקְ אֶת הַ־נָּֽעַר׃
19
καὶ ἀνέῳξεν ὁ θεὸς τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῆς, καὶ ἴδεν φρέαρ ὕδατος ζῶντος · καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔπλησεν τὸν ἀσκὸν ὕδατος καὶ ἐπότισεν τὸ παιδίον.

Aperuítque óculos eius Deus: quæ videns púteum aquæ, ábiit, et implévit utrem, dedítque púero bíbere.

ויפקח אלהים את עיניה ותרא באר מים ותלך ותמלא את החמת מים ותשׁק את הנער

And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.

וַיְהִ֧י אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶת הַ־נַּ֖עַר וַיִּגְדָּ֑ל וַיֵּ֨שֶׁב֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר וַיְהִ֖י רֹבֶ֥ה קַשָּֽׁת׃
20
καὶ ἦν ὁ θεὸς μετὰ τοῦ παιδίου, καὶ ηὐξήθη καὶ κατῴκησεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ · ἐγένετο δὲ τοξότης.

Et fuit cum eo: qui crevit, et morátus est in solitúdine, factúsque est iúvenis sagittárius.

ויהי אלהים את הנער ויגדל וישׁב במדבר ויהי רבי קשׁת
20
And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.

וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב בְּמִדְבַּ֣ר פָּארָ֑ן וַתִּֽקַּֽח ל֥־וֹ אִמּ֛וֹ אִשָּׁ֖ה מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ פ
21
καὶ κατῴκησεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τῇ Φαράν · καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτῷ ἡ μήτηρ γυναῖκα ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου.

Habitavítque in desérto Pharan, et accépit illi mater sua uxórem de terra Ægýpti.

וישׁב במדבר פראן ותקח לו אמו אשׁה מארץ מצרים

And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.

וַֽיְהִי֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔וא וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ וּפִיכֹל֙ שַׂר צְבָא֔־וֹ אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר אֱלֹהִ֣ים עִמְּךָ֔ בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֖ה עֹשֶֽׂה׃
22
Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ καὶ εἶπεν Ἀβιμέλεχ καὶ Ὀχοζὰθ ὁ νυμφαγωγὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ Φικὸλ ὁ ἀρχιστράτηγος τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ πρὸς Ἀβραὰμ λέγων Ὁ θεὸς μετὰ σοῦ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐὰν ποιῇς.

Eódem témpore dixit Abímelech, et Phicol princeps exércitus eius, ad Abraham: Deus tecum est in univérsis quæ agis.

ויהי בעת ההיא ויאמר אבימלך ופי כל שׂר צבאו אל־אברהם לאמר אלהים עמך בכל אשׁר־אתה עשׂה

And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God [is] with thee in all that thou doest:

וְעַתָּ֗ה הִשָּׁ֨בְעָה לִּ֤י בֵֽאלֹהִים֙ הֵ֔נָּה אִם־תִּשְׁקֹ֣ר לִ֔י וּלְנִינִ֖י וּלְנֶכְדִּ֑י כַּחֶ֜סֶד אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂ֤יתִי עִמְּךָ֙ תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה עִמָּדִ֔י וְעִם הָ־אָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־גַּ֥רְתָּה בָּֽהּ׃

νῦν οὖν ὄμοσόν μοι τὸν θεόν, μὴ ἀδικήσειν με μηδὲ τὸ σπέρμα μου μηδὲ τὸ ὄνομά μου · ἀλλὰ κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην ἣν ἐποίησα μετὰ σοῦ ποιήσεις μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ, καὶ τῇ γῇ ᾗ σὺ παρῴκησας ἐν αὐτῇ.

Iura ergo per Deum, ne nóceas mihi, et pósteris meis, stirpíque meæ: sed iuxta misericórdiam, quam feci tibi, fácies mihi, et terræ in qua versátus es ádvena.

ועתה השׁבע לי באלהים הנה אם־תשׁקר לי ולניני ולנגדי וכחסד אשׁר־עשׂיתי עמך תעשׂה עמדי ועם הארץ אשׁר גרת בה

Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son ’s son: [but] according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.

καὶ ἤλεγξεν Ἀβραὰμ τὸν Ἀβιμέλεχ περὶ τῶν φρεάτων τοῦ ὕδατος ὧν ἀφείλαντο οἱ παῖδες τοῦ Ἀβιμέλεχ.

Et increpávit Abímelech propter púteum aquæ quem vi abstúlerant servi eius.

והוכיח אברהם את־אבימלך על־אדות באר המים אשׁר גזלו עבדי אבימלך

And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech ’s servants had violently taken away.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ לֹ֣א יָדַ֔עְתִּי מִ֥י עָשָׂ֖ה אֶת הַ־דָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה וְגַם־אַתָּ֞ה לֹא־הִגַּ֣דְתָּ לִּ֗י וְגַ֧ם אָנֹכִ֛י לֹ֥א שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי בִּלְתִּ֥י הַיּֽוֹם׃

καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ἀβιμέλεχ Οὐκ ἔγνων τίς ἐποίησεν τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο · οὐδὲ σύ μοι ἀπήγγειλας, οὐδὲ ἐγὼ ἤκουσα ἀλλὰ σήμερον.

Respondítque Abímelech: Nescívi quis fécerit hanc rem: sed et tu non indicásti mihi, et ego non audívi præter hódie.

ויאמר אבימלך לא ידעתי מי עשׂה את הדבר הזה וגם־אתה לא־הגדת לי וגם אנכי לא שׁמעתי בלתי היום

And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I [of it], but to day.

וַיִּקַּ֤ח אַבְרָהָם֙ צֹ֣אן וּבָקָ֔ר וַיִּתֵּ֖ן לַאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם בְּרִֽית׃

καὶ ἔλαβεν Ἀβραὰμ πρόβατα καὶ μόσχους καὶ ἔδωκεν τῷ Ἀβιμέλεχ · καὶ διέθεντο ἀμφότεροι διαθήκην.

καὶ εἶπεν Ἀβιμέλεχ τῷ Ἀβραάμ Τί εἰσιν αἱ ἑπτὰ ἀμνάδες τῶν προβάτων τούτων ἃς ἔστησας μόνας?

Cui dixit Abímelech: Quid sibi volunt septem agnæ istæ, quas stare fecísti seórsum?

ויאמר אבימלך אל־אברהם מה הנה שׁבע הכבשׂות האלה אשׁר הצבת לבדהן

And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What [mean] these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר כִּ֚י אֶת־שֶׁ֣בַע כְּבָשֹׂ֔ת תִּקַּ֖ח מִיָּדִ֑י בַּעֲבוּר֙ תִּֽהְיֶה לִּ֣־י לְעֵדָ֔ה כִּ֥י חָפַ֖רְתִּי אֶת הַ־בְּאֵ֥ר הַזֹּֽאת׃

καὶ εἶπεν Ἀβραὰμ ὅτι Τὰς ἑπτὰ ἀμνάδας ταύτας λήμψῃ παρ᾽ ἐμοῦ, ἵνα ὦσιν εἰς μαρτύριον ὅτι ἐγὼ ὤρυξα τὸ φρέαρ τοῦτο.

ויאמר אברהם כי את־שׁבע הכבשׂות תקח מידי בעבור תהיה לי לעדה כי חפרתי את הבאר הזאת

διὰ τοῦτο ἐπωνόμασεν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου Φρέαρ ὁρκισμοῦ, ὅτι ἐκεῖ ὤμοσαν ἀμφότεροι.

וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ בְרִ֖ית בִּבְאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע וַיָּ֣קָם אֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ וּפִיכֹל֙ שַׂר צְבָא֔־וֹ וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃

καὶ διέθεντο διαθήκην ἐν τῷ φρέατι τοῦ ὅρκου. ἀνέστη δὲ Ἀβιμέλεχ καὶ Ὀχοζὰθ ὁ νυμφαγωγὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ Φικὸλ ὁ ἀρχιστράτηγος τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς τὴν γῆν τῶν Φυλιστιείμ.

Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.

וַיִּטַּ֥ע אֶ֖שֶׁל בִּבְאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע וַיִּ֨קְרָא־שָׁ֔ם בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהוָ֖ה אֵ֥ל עוֹלָֽם׃

καὶ ἐφύτευσεν Ἀβραὰμ ἄρουραν ἐπὶ τῷ φρέατι τοῦ ὅρκου, καὶ ἐπεκαλέσατο ἐκεῖ τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου, Θεὸς αἰώνιος.

Surréxit autem Abímelech, et Phicol princeps exércitus eius, reversíque sunt in terram Palæstinórum. Abraham vero plantávit nemus in Bersabée, et invocávit ibi nomen Dómini Dei ætérni.

ויטע אברהם אשׁל בבאר שׁבע ויקרא־שׁם בשׁם יהוה אל עולם

And [Abraham] planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.
