וַיִּסַּ֤ע יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְכָל־אֲשֶׁר ל֔־וֹ וַיָּבֹ֖א בְּאֵ֣רָה שָּׁ֑בַע וַיִּזְבַּ֣ח זְבָחִ֔ים לֵאלֹהֵ֖י אָבִ֥יו יִצְחָֽק׃

Ἀπάρας δὲ Ἰσραήλ, αὐτὸς καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτοῦ, ἦλθον ἐπὶ τὸ φρέαρ τοῦ ὅρκου, καὶ ἔθυσεν ἐκεῖ θυσίαν τῷ θεῷ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ Ἰσαάκ.

Profectúsque Israel cum ómnibus quæ habébat, venit ad Púteum iuraménti: et mactátis ibi víctimis Deo patris sui Isaac,

εἶπεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς Ἰσραὴλ ἐν ὁράματι τῆς νυκτὸς εἴπας Ἰακὼβ Ἰακώβ. ὁ δὲ εἶπεν Τί ἐστιν?

audívit eum per visiónem noctis vocántem se, et dicéntem sibi: Iacob, Iacob. Cui respóndit: Ecce adsum.

ויאמר אלהים לישׂראל במראות הלילה ויאמר יעקב יעקב ויאמר הנני

And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here [am] I.

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר אָנֹכִ֥י הָאֵ֖ל אֱלֹהֵ֣י אָבִ֑יךָ אַל־תִּירָא֙ מֵרְדָ֣ה מִצְרַ֔יְמָה כִּֽי לְ־ג֥וֹי גָּד֖וֹל אֲשִֽׂימְךָ֥ שָֽׁם׃

λέγων Ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων σου · μὴ φοβοῦ καταβῆναι εἰς Αἴγυπτον, εἰς γὰρ ἔθνος μέγα ποιήσω σε ἐκεῖ ·

Ait illi Deus: Ego sum fortíssimus Deus patris tui: noli timére, descénde in Ægýptum, quia in gentem magnam fáciam te ibi.

ויאמר אנכי האל אלהי אביך אל־תירא מרדת מצרימה כי לגוי גדול אשׂימך שׁם

And he said, I [am] God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:

אָנֹכִ֗י אֵרֵ֤ד עִמְּךָ֙ מִצְרַ֔יְמָה וְאָנֹכִ֖י אַֽעַלְךָ֣ גַם־עָלֹ֑ה וְיוֹסֵ֕ף יָשִׁ֥ית יָד֖וֹ עַל עֵינֶֽי־ךָ׃

καὶ ἐγὼ καταβήσομαι μετὰ σοῦ εἰς Αἴγυπτον, καὶ ἐγὼ ἀναβιβάσω σε εἰς τέλος · καὶ Ἰωσὴφ ἐπιβαλεῖ τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου.

Ego descéndam tecum illuc, et ego inde addúcam te reverténtem: Ioseph quoque ponet manus suas super óculos tuos.

אנכי ארד עמך מצרימה ואנכי אעלך גם־עלה ויוסף ישׁית ידיו על עיניך

I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up [again]: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.

וַיָּ֥קָם יַעֲקֹ֖ב מִבְּאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע וַיִּשְׂא֨וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל אֶת־יַעֲקֹ֣ב אֲבִיהֶ֗ם וְאֶת טַפָּ־ם֙ וְאֶת נְשֵׁי־הֶ֔ם בָּעֲגָל֕וֹת אֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַ֥ח פַּרְעֹ֖ה לָשֵׂ֥את אֹתֽוֹ׃

ἀνέστη δὲ Ἰακὼβ ἀπὸ τοῦ φρέατος τοῦ ὅρκου, καὶ ἀνέλαβον οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ τὸν πατέρα αὐτῶν καὶ τὴν ἀποσκευὴν καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τὰς ἁμάξας ἃς ἀπέστειλεν Ἰωσὴφ ἆραι αὐτόν ·

Surréxit autem Iacob a Púteo iuraménti: tulerúntque eum fílii cum párvulis et uxóribus suis in plaustris quæ míserat Phárao ad portándum senem,

ויקם יעקב מבאר שׁבע וישׂאו בני־ישׂראל את־יעקב אביהם ואת טפם ואת נשׁיהם בעגלות אשׁר־שׁלח פרעה לשׂאת אתו

And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

καὶ ἀναλαβόντες τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτῶν καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν κτῆσιν ἣν ἐκτήσαντο ἐκ γῆς Χανάαν, καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ἰακὼβ εἰς Αἴγυπτον, καὶ πᾶν τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ,

et ómnia quæ posséderat in terra Chánaan: venítque in Ægýptum cum omni sémine suo,

υἱοὶ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ, θυγατέρες καὶ θυγατέρες τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ · καὶ πᾶν τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ ἤγαγεν εἰς Αἴγυπτον.

אֵ֚לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י בִלְהָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥ן לָבָ֖ן לְרָחֵ֣ל בִּתּ֑וֹ וַתֵּ֧לֶד אֶת־אֵ֛לֶּה לְיַעֲקֹ֖ב כָּל־נֶ֥פֶשׁ שִׁבְעָֽה׃

οὗτοι υἱοὶ Βάλλας, ἣν ἔδωκεν Λαβὰν Ῥαχὴλ τῇ θυγατρὶ αὐτοῦ, ἣ ἔτεκεν τούτους τῷ Ἰακώβ · πᾶσαι ψυχαὶ ἑπτά.

πᾶσαι δὲ ψυχαὶ αἱ εἰσελθοῦσαι μετὰ Ἰακὼβ εἰς Αἴγυπτον, οἱ ἐξελθόντες ἐκ τῶν μηρῶν αὐτοῦ, χωρὶς τῶν γυναικῶν υἱῶν Ἰακώβ, πᾶσαι ψυχαὶ ἑξήκοντα ἕξ.

Cunctæ ánimæ, quæ ingréssæ sunt cum Iacob in Ægýptum, et egréssæ sunt de fémore illíus, absque uxóribus filiórum eius, sexagínta sex.

All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob ’s sons ’ wives, all the souls [were] threescore and six;

וּבְנֵ֥י יוֹסֵ֛ף אֲשֶׁר־יֻלַּד ל֥־וֹ בְמִצְרַ֖יִם נֶ֣פֶשׁ שְׁנָ֑יִם כָּל הַ־נֶּ֧פֶשׁ לְבֵֽית־יַעֲקֹ֛ב הַבָּ֥אָה מִצְרַ֖יְמָה שִׁבְעִֽים׃ פ

υἱοὶ δὲ Ἰωσὴφ οἱ γενόμενοι αὐτῷ ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ψυχαὶ ἐννέα. πᾶσαι ψυχαὶ οἴκου Ἰακὼβ αἱ εἰσελθοῦσαι εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἑβδομήκοντα πέντε.

And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, [were] two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, [were] threescore and ten.

וְאֶת־יְהוּדָ֞ה שָׁלַ֤ח לְפָנָיו֙ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף לְהוֹרֹ֥ת לְפָנָ֖יו גֹּ֑שְׁנָה וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ אַ֥רְצָה גֹּֽשֶׁן׃

Τὸν δὲ Ἰούδαν ἀπέστειλεν ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν πρὸς Ἰωσὴφ συναντῆσαι αὐτῷ καθ᾽ Ἡρώων πόλιν εἰς γῆν Ῥαμεσσή.

וַיֶּאְסֹ֤ר יוֹסֵף֙ מֶרְכַּבְתּ֔וֹ וַיַּ֛עַל לִקְרַֽאת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל אָבִ֖יו גֹּ֑שְׁנָה וַיֵּרָ֣א אֵלָ֗יו וַיִּפֹּל֙ עַל צַוָּארָ֔י־ו וַיֵּ֥בְךְּ עַל צַוָּארָ֖י־ו עֽוֹד׃

ζεύξας δὲ Ἰωσὴφ τὰ ἅρματα αὐτοῦ ἀνέβη εἰς συνάντησιν Ἰσραὴλ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ καθ᾽ Ἡρώων πόλιν · καὶ ὀφθεὶς αὐτῷ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔκλαυσεν κλαυθμῷ πίονι.

Quo cum pervenísset, iuncto Ioseph curru suo, ascéndit óbviam patri suo ad eúmdem locum: vidénsque eum, írruit super collum eius, et inter ampléxus flevit.

ויאסר יוסף מרכבתו ויעל לקראת־ישׂראל אביו גשׁנה וירא אליו ויפל על צוארו ויבך על צוארו עוד

And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.

וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶל־יוֹסֵ֖ף אָמ֣וּתָה הַפָּ֑עַם אַחֲרֵי֙ רְאוֹתִ֣י אֶת פָּנֶ֔י־ךָ כִּ֥י עוֹדְךָ֖ חָֽי׃

καὶ εἶπεν Ἰσραὴλ πρὸς Ἰωσήφ Ἀποθανοῦμαι ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν, ἐπειδὴ ἑώρακα τὸ πρόσωπόν σου · ἔτι γὰρ σὺ ζῇς.

Dixítque pater ad Ioseph: Iam lætus móriar, quia vidi fáciem tuam, et supérstitem te relínquo.

εἶπεν δὲ Ἰωσὴφ πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ Ἀναβὰς ἀπαγγελῶ τῷ Φαραὼ καὶ ἐρῶ αὐτῷ Οἱ ἀδελφοί μου καὶ ὁ οἶκος τοῦ πατρός μου, οἳ ἦσαν ἐν γῇ Χανάαν, ἥκασιν πρὸς μέ ·

At ille locútus est ad fratres suos, et ad omnem domum patris sui: Ascéndam, et nuntiábo Pharaóni, dicámque ei: Fratres mei, et domus patris mei, qui erant in terra Chánaan, venérunt ad me:

ויאמר יוסף אל אחיו ואל־בית אביו אעלה ואגידה לפרעה ואמר אליו אחי ובית אבי אשׁר בארץ־כנען באו אלי

And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father ’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father ’s house, which [were] in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;

וְהָאֲנָשִׁים֙ רֹ֣עֵי צֹ֔אן כִּֽי־אַנְשֵׁ֥י מִקְנֶ֖ה הָי֑וּ וְצֹאנָ֧ם וּבְקָרָ֛ם וְכָל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לָהֶ֖ם הֵבִֽיאוּ׃

οἱ δὲ ἄνδρες εἰσὶν ποιμένες · ἄνδρες γὰρ κτηνοτρόφοι ἦσαν · καὶ τὰ κτήνη καὶ τούς βόας καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτῶν ἀγιόχασιν.

et sunt viri pastóres óvium, curámque habent alendórum gregum: pécora sua, et arménta, et ómnia quæ habére potuérunt, adduxérunt secum.

והאנשׁים רעי צאן כי־אנשׁי מקנה היו וצאנם ובקרם וכל־אשׁר להם הביאו

And the men [are] shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.

וְהָיָ֕ה כִּֽי־יִקְרָ֥א לָכֶ֖ם פַּרְעֹ֑ה וְאָמַ֖ר מַה מַּעֲשֵׂי־כֶֽם׃

ἐὰν οὖν καλέσῃ ὑμᾶς Φαραὼ καὶ εἴπῃ ὑμῖν Τί τὸ ἔργον ὑμῶν ἐστίν?

והיה כי־יקרא לכם פרעה ואמר מה מעשׂיכם

And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What [is] your occupation?

וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֗ם אַנְשֵׁ֨י מִקְנֶ֜ה הָי֤וּ עֲבָדֶ֨יךָ֙ מִנְּעוּרֵ֣ינוּ וְעַד־עַ֔תָּה גַּם־אֲנַ֖חְנוּ גַּם אֲבֹתֵ֑י־נוּ בַּעֲב֗וּר תֵּשְׁבוּ֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ גֹּ֔שֶׁן כִּֽי־תוֹעֲבַ֥ת מִצְרַ֖יִם כָּל־רֹ֥עֵה צֹֽאן׃

respondébitis: Viri pastóres sumus servi tui, ab infántia nostra usque in præsens, et nos et patres nostri. Hæc autem dicétis, ut habitáre possítis in terra Gessen: quia detestántur Ægýptii omnes pastóres óvium.

ואמרתם אנשׁי מקנה היו עבדיך מנערינו ועד־עתה גם־אנחנו גם אבתינו בעבור תשׁבו בארץ גשׁן כי־תועבת מצרים כל רעי צאן

That ye shall say, Thy servants ’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, [and] also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd [is] an abomination unto the Egyptians.
