וַֽיְהִי֙ כִּֽי־הֵחֵ֣ל הָֽאָדָ֔ם לָרֹ֖ב עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הָֽאֲדָמָ֑ה וּבָנ֖וֹת יֻלְּד֥וּ לָהֶֽם׃
1
Καὶ ἦν Νῶε ἐτῶν πεντακοσίων, καὶ ἐγέννησεν Νῶε τρεῖς υἱούς, τὸν Σήμ, τὸν Χάμ, τὸν Ἰάφεθ. Καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ἤρξαντο οἱ ἄνθρωποι πολλοὶ γίνεσθαι ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ θυγατέρες ἐγενήθησαν αὐτοῖς ·

Cumque cœpíssent hómines multiplicári super terram, et fílias procreássent,

ויהי כי־החל האדם לרב על־פני האדמה ובנות ילדו להם

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

וַיִּרְא֤וּ בְנֵי הָֽ־אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶת־בְּנ֣וֹת הָֽאָדָ֔ם כִּ֥י טֹבֹ֖ת הֵ֑נָּה וַיִּקְח֤וּ לָהֶם֙ נָשִׁ֔ים מִכֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּחָֽרוּ׃
2
ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ἄγγελοι τοῦ θεοῦ τὰς θυγατέρας τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὅτι καλαί εἰσιν, ἔλαβον ἑαυτοῖς γυναῖκας ἀπὸ πασῶν ὧν ἐξελέξαντο.

vidéntes fílii Dei fílias hóminum quod essent pulchræ, accepérunt sibi uxóres ex ómnibus, quas elégerant.

ויראו בני האלהים את־בנות האדם כי טובות הנה ויקחו להם נשׁים מכל אשׁר בחרו

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֗ה לֹֽא־יָד֨וֹן רוּחִ֤י בָֽאָדָם֙ לְעֹלָ֔ם בְּשַׁגַּ֖ם ה֣וּא בָשָׂ֑ר וְהָי֣וּ יָמָ֔יו מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים שָׁנָֽה׃

καὶ εἶπεν Κύριος ὁ θεός Οὐ μὴ καταμείνῃ τὸ πνεῦμά μου ἐν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις τούτοις εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, διὰ τὸ εἶναι αὐτοὺς σάρκας · ἔσονται δὲ αἱ ἡμέραι αὐτῶν ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι ἔτη.

Dixítque Deus: Non permanébit spíritus meus in hómine in ætérnum, quia caro est: erúntque dies illíus centum vigínti annórum.

ויאמר יהוה לא־ידון רוחי באדם לעולם בשׁגם הוא בשׂר והיו ימיו מאה ועשׂרים שׁנה
3
And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also [is] flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

הַנְּפִלִ֞ים הָי֣וּ בָאָרֶץ֮ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵם֒ וְגַ֣ם אַֽחֲרֵי־כֵ֗ן אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָבֹ֜אוּ בְּנֵ֤י הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־בְּנ֣וֹת הָֽאָדָ֔ם וְיָלְד֖וּ לָהֶ֑ם הֵ֧מָּה הַגִּבֹּרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר מֵעוֹלָ֖ם אַנְשֵׁ֥י הַשֵּֽׁם׃ פ

οἱ δὲ γίγαντες ἦσαν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, καὶ μετ᾽ ἐκεῖνο ὡς ἂν εἰσεπορεύοντο οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ θεοῦ πρὸς τὰς θυγατέρας τῶν ἀνθρώπων, καὶ ἐγεννῶσαν ἑαυτοῖς · ἐκεῖνοι ἦσαν οἱ γίγαντες οἱ ἀπ᾽ αἰῶνος, οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ὀνομαστοί.

Gigántes autem erant super terram in diébus illis: postquam enim ingréssi sunt fílii Dei ad fílias hóminum, illǽque genuérunt, isti sunt poténtes a sǽculo viri famósi.

והנפלים היו בארץ בימים ההם וגם אחרי־כן אשׁר יבאו בני האלהים אל־בנות האדם ויולידו להם הם הגבורים אשׁר מעולם אנשׁי השׁם
4
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown.

וַיַּ֣רְא יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֥י רַבָּ֛ה רָעַ֥ת הָאָדָ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְכָל־יֵ֨צֶר֙ מַחְשְׁבֹ֣ת לִבּ֔וֹ רַ֥ק רַ֖ע כָּל הַ־יּֽוֹם׃
5
ἰδὼν δὲ Κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὅτι ἐπληθύνθησαν αἱ κακίαι τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ πᾶς τις διανοεῖται ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ ἐπιμελῶς ἐπὶ τὰ πονηρὰ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ·

Videns autem Deus quod multa malítia hóminum esset in terra, et cuncta cogitátio cordis inténta esset ad malum omni témpore,

וירא יהוה כי רבה רעת האדם בארץ וכל־יצר מחשׁבות לבו רק רע כל היום
5
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.

וַיִּנָּ֣חֶם יְהוָ֔ה כִּֽי־עָשָׂ֥ה אֶת הָֽ־אָדָ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וַיִּתְעַצֵּ֖ב אֶל לִבּֽ־וֹ׃

καὶ ἐνεθυμήθη ὁ θεὸς ὅτι ἐποίησεν τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ διενοήθη.

pœnítuit eum quod hóminem fecísset in terra. Et tactus dolóre cordis intrínsecus,

וינחם יהוה כי־עשׂה את האדם בארץ ויתעצב אל לבו
6
And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֗ה אֶמְחֶ֨ה אֶת הָ־אָדָ֤ם אֲשֶׁר־בָּרָ֨אתִי֙ מֵעַל֙ פְּנֵ֣י הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה מֵֽאָדָם֙ עַד־בְּהֵמָ֔ה עַד־רֶ֖מֶשׂ וְעַד־ע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם כִּ֥י נִחַ֖מְתִּי כִּ֥י עֲשִׂיתִֽם׃

καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεός Ἀπαλείψω τὸν ἄνθρωπον ὃν ἐποίησα ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς, ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους καὶ ἀπὸ ἑρπετῶν ἕως τῶν πετεινῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ · ὅτι ἐθυμώθην ὅτι ἐποίησα αὐτούς.

Delébo, inquit, hóminem, quem creávi, a fácie terræ, ab hómine usque ad animántia, a réptili usque ad vólucres cæli: pœ́nitet enim me fecísse eos.

ויאמר יהוה אמחה את האדם אשׁר־בראתי מעל פני האדמה מאדם עד־בהמה עד־רמשׂ עד־עוף השׁמים כי נחמתי כי עשׂיתים
7
And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

וְנֹ֕חַ מָ֥צָא חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ פ

Νῶε δὲ εὗρεν χάριν ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ.

Noe vero invénit grátiam coram Dómino.

ונח מצא חן בעיני יהוה

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

אֵ֚לֶּה תּוֹלְדֹ֣ת נֹ֔חַ נֹ֗חַ אִ֥ישׁ צַדִּ֛יק תָּמִ֥ים הָיָ֖ה בְּדֹֽרֹתָ֑יו אֶת הָֽ־אֱלֹהִ֖ים הִֽתְהַלֶּךְ־נֹֽחַ׃
9
Αὗται δὲ αἱ γενέσεις Νῶε. Νῶε ἄνθρωπος δίκαιος, τέλειος ὢν ἐν τῇ γενέσει αὐτοῦ · τῷ θεῷ εὐηρέστησεν Νῶε.

Hæ sunt generatiónes Noe: Noe vir iustus atque perféctus fuit in generatiónibus suis: cum Deo ambulávit.

אלה תולדת נח נח אישׁ צדיק ותמים היה בדרתיו את האלהים התהלך־נח
9
These [are] the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man [and] perfect in his generations, [and] Noah walked with God.

וַיּ֥וֹלֶד נֹ֖חַ שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה בָנִ֑ים אֶת־שֵׁ֖ם אֶת־חָ֥ם וְאֶת־יָֽפֶת׃

ἐγέννησεν δὲ Νῶε τρεῖς υἱούς, τὸν Σήμ, τὸν Χάμ, τὸν Ἰάφεθ.

Et génuit tres fílios, Sem, Cham et Iapheth.

ויוליד נח שׁלשׁה בנים את־שׁם ואת־חם ואת־יפת

And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

וַתִּשָּׁחֵ֥ת הָאָ֖רֶץ לִפְנֵ֣י הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַתִּמָּלֵ֥א הָאָ֖רֶץ חָמָֽס׃

ἐφθάρη δὲ ἡ γῆ ἐναντίον τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ ἀδικίας.

Corrúpta est autem terra coram Deo, et repléta est iniquitáte.

ותשׁחת הארץ לפני האלהים ותמלא הארץ חמס
11
The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

וַיַּ֧רְא אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶת הָ־אָ֖רֶץ וְהִנֵּ֣ה נִשְׁחָ֑תָה כִּֽי־הִשְׁחִ֧ית כָּל־בָּשָׂ֛ר אֶת דַּרְכּ֖־וֹ עַל הָ־אָֽרֶץ׃ ס
12
καὶ ἴδεν Κύριος ὁ θεὸς τὴν γῆν, καὶ ἦν κατεφθαρμένη, ὅτι κατέφθειρεν πᾶσα σὰρξ τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.

Cumque vidísset Deus terram esse corrúptam ( omnis quippe caro corrúperat viam suam super terram ),

וירא אלהים את הארץ והנה נשׁחתה כי־השׁחית כל־בשׂר את דרכו על הארץ
12
And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֜ים לְנֹ֗חַ קֵ֤ץ כָּל־בָּשָׂר֙ בָּ֣א לְפָנַ֔י כִּֽי־מָלְאָ֥ה הָאָ֛רֶץ חָמָ֖ס מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם וְהִנְנִ֥י מַשְׁחִיתָ֖ם אֶת הָ־אָֽרֶץ׃

Καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Νῶε Καιρὸς παντὸς ἀνθρώπου ἥκει ἐναντίον μου, ὅτι ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ ἀδικίας ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν · καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καταφθείρω αὐτοὺς καὶ τὴν γῆν.

dixit ad Noe: Finis univérsæ carnis venit coram me: repléta est terra iniquitáte a fácie eórum, et ego dispérdam eos cum terra.

ויאמר אלהים לנח קץ כל־בשׂר בא לפני כי־מלאה הארץ חמס מפניהם והנני משׁחיתים את הארץ
13
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

עֲשֵׂ֤ה לְךָ֙ תֵּבַ֣ת עֲצֵי־גֹ֔פֶר קִנִּ֖ים תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֣ה אֶת הַ־תֵּבָ֑ה וְכָֽפַרְתָּ֥ אֹתָ֛הּ מִבַּ֥יִת וּמִח֖וּץ בַּכֹּֽפֶר׃

ποίησον οὖν σεαυτῷ κιβωτὸν ἐκ ξύλων τετραγώνων · νοσσιὰς ποιήσεις τὴν κιβωτόν, καὶ ἀσφαλτώσεις αὐτὴν ἔσωθεν καὶ ἔξωθεν τῇ ἀσφάλτῳ.

Fac tibi arcam de lignis lævigátis: mansiúnculas in arca fácies, et bitúmine línies intrínsecus, et extrínsecus.

עשׂה לך תבת עצי־גפר קנים תעשׂה את התבה וכפרת אתה מבית ומחוץ בכפר
14
Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

וְזֶ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֖ה אֹתָ֑הּ שְׁלֹ֧שׁ מֵא֣וֹת אַמָּ֗ה אֹ֚רֶךְ הַתֵּבָ֔ה חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים אַמָּה֙ רָחְבָּ֔הּ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אַמָּ֖ה קוֹמָתָֽהּ׃

καὶ οὕτως ποιήσεις τὴν κιβωτόν · τριακοσίων πήχεων τὸ μῆκος τῆς κιβωτοῦ, καὶ πεντήκοντα πήχεων τὸ πλάτος, καὶ τριάκοντα πήχεων τὸ ὕψος αὐτῆς.

Et sic fácies eam: trecentórum cubitórum erit longitúdo arcæ, quinquagínta cubitórum latitúdo, et trigínta cubitórum altitúdo illíus.

וזה אשׁר תעשׂה אתה שׁלשׁ מאות אמה ארך התבה וחמשׁים אמה רחבה ושׁלשׁים אמה קומתה
15
And this [is the fashion] which thou shalt make it [of]: The length of the ark [shall be] three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

צֹ֣הַר ׀ תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֣ה לַתֵּבָ֗ה וְאֶל־אַמָּה֙ תְּכַלֶ֣נָּה מִלְמַ֔עְלָה וּפֶ֥תַח הַתֵּבָ֖ה בְּצִדָּ֣הּ תָּשִׂ֑ים תַּחְתִּיִּ֛ם שְׁנִיִּ֥ם וּשְׁלִשִׁ֖ים תַּֽעֲשֶֽׂהָ׃

ἐπισυνάγων ποιήσεις τὴν κιβωτόν, καὶ εἰς πῆχυν συντελέσεις αὐτὴν ἄνωθεν · τὴν δὲ θύραν τῆς κιβωτοῦ ποιήσεις ἐκ πλαγίων · κατάγαια διώροφα καὶ τριώροφα ποιήσεις αὐτήν.

Fenéstram in arca fácies, et in cúbito consummábis summitátem eius: óstium autem arcæ pones ex látere: deórsum, cœnácula, et trístega fácies in ea.

צהר תעשׂה לתבה ועל אמה תכלנה מלמעלה ופתח התבה בצדה תשׂים תחתים שׁנים ושׁלישׁים תעשׂה
16
A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; [with] lower, second, and third [stories] shalt thou make it.

צהר תעשה] [לתבה ואל־אמה תכל׳נה מלמעל׳ה ופתח התבה בצד׳ה תשים תחתים ש]נ?י?ם ושלשי?[ם תעשה ׃

וַאֲנִ֗י הִנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא אֶת הַ־מַּבּ֥וּל מַ֨יִם֙ עַל הָ־אָ֔רֶץ לְשַׁחֵ֣ת כָּל־בָּשָׂ֗ר אֲשֶׁר בּ־וֹ֙ ר֣וּחַ חַיִּ֔ים מִתַּ֖חַת הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם כֹּ֥ל אֲשֶׁר בָּ־אָ֖רֶץ יִגְוָֽע׃
17
ἐγὼ δὲ ἰδοὺ ἐπάγω τὸν κατακλυσμὸν ὕδωρ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν, καταφθεῖραι πᾶσαν σάρκα ἐν ᾗ ἐστὶν ἐν αὐτῇ πνεῦμα ζωῆς ὑποκάτω τοῦ οὐρανοῦ · καὶ ὅσα ἐὰν ᾖ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς τελευτήσει.

Ecce ego addúcam aquas dilúvii super terram, ut interfíciam omnem carnem, in qua spíritus vitæ est subter cælum: univérsa quæ in terra sunt, consuméntur.

ואני הנני מביא את המבול מים על הארץ להשׁחית כל־בשׂר אשׁר בו רוח חיים מתחת השׁמים כל אשׁר בארץ יגוע
17
And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein [is] the breath of life, from under heaven; [and] every thing that [is] in the earth shall die.

וַהֲקִמֹתִ֥י אֶת בְּרִיתִ֖־י אִתָּ֑ךְ וּבָאתָ֙ אֶל הַ־תֵּבָ֔ה אַתָּ֕ה וּבָנֶ֛יךָ וְאִשְׁתְּךָ֥ וּנְשֵֽׁי בָנֶ֖י־ךָ אִתָּֽךְ׃
18
καὶ στήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου πρὸς σέ · εἰσελεύσῃ δὲ εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν, σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ ἡ γυνή σου καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες τῶν υἱῶν σου μετὰ σοῦ.

Ponámque fœdus meum tecum: et ingrediéris arcam tu et fílii tui, uxor tua, et uxóres filiórum tuórum tecum.

והקמתי את בריתי אתך ובאת אל התבה אתה ובניך ואשׁתך ונשׁי בניך אתך
18
But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons ’ wives with thee.

וּמִכָּל הָ֠־חַי מִֽכָּל־בָּשָׂ֞ר שְׁנַ֧יִם מִכֹּ֛ל תָּבִ֥יא אֶל הַ־תֵּבָ֖ה לְהַחֲיֹ֣ת אִתָּ֑ךְ זָכָ֥ר וּנְקֵבָ֖ה יִֽהְיֽוּ׃
19
καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν κτηνῶν καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἑρπετῶν καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν θηρίων καὶ ἀπὸ πάσης σαρκός, δύο δύο ἀπὸ πάντων εἰσάξεις εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν, ἵνα τρέφῃς μετὰ σεαυτοῦ · ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ ἔσονται.

Et ex cunctis animántibus univérsæ carnis bina indúces in arcam, ut vivant tecum: masculíni sexus et feminíni.

ומכל החיה ומכל הבשׂר שׁנים מכל תביא אל התבה להחיות אתך זכר ונקבה
19
And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every [sort] shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep [them] alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

מֵהָע֣וֹף לְמִינֵ֗הוּ וּמִן הַ־בְּהֵמָה֙ לְמִינָ֔הּ מִכֹּ֛ל רֶ֥מֶשׂ הָֽאֲדָמָ֖ה לְמִינֵ֑הוּ שְׁנַ֧יִם מִכֹּ֛ל יָבֹ֥אוּ אֵלֶ֖יךָ לְהַֽחֲיֽוֹת׃
20
ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ὀρνέων τῶν πετεινῶν κατὰ γένος καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν κτηνῶν κατὰ γένος καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἑρπετῶν τῶν ἑρπόντων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς κατὰ γένος αὐτῶν, δύο δύο ἀπὸ πάντων εἰσελεύσονται πρὸς σὲ τρέφεσθαι μετὰ σοῦ, ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ.
20
De volúcribus iuxta genus suum, et de iuméntis in génere suo, et ex omni réptili terræ secúndum genus suum: bina de ómnibus ingrediéntur tecum, ut possint vívere.

והיה מן העוף למינהו ומן הבהמה למינה ומכל אשׁר רמשׂ על האדמה למיניהם שׁנים מכל יבאו אליך להחיות
20
Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every [sort] shall come unto thee, to keep [them] alive.

וְאַתָּ֣ה קַח לְ־ךָ֗ מִכָּל־מַֽאֲכָל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵֽאָכֵ֔ל וְאָסַפְתָּ֖ אֵלֶ֑יךָ וְהָיָ֥ה לְךָ֛ וְלָהֶ֖ם לְאָכְלָֽה׃

σὺ δὲ λήμψῃ σεαυτῷ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν βρωμάτων ἃ ἔδεσθε, καὶ συνάξεις πρὸς σεαυτόν, καὶ ἔσται σοὶ καὶ ἐκείνοις φαγεῖν.

Tolles ígitur tecum ex ómnibus escis, quæ mandi possunt, et comportábis apud te: et erunt tam tibi, quam illis in cibum.

ואתה קח לך מכל־מאכל אשׁר יאכל ואספת אליך והיה לך ולהם לאכלה

And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather [it] to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.

καὶ ἐποίησεν Νῶε πάντα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ Κύριος ὁ θεός, οὕτως ἐποίησεν.

ויעשׂ נח ככל אשׁר צוה אתו אלהים כן עשׂה
