רְדִ֣י ׀ וּשְׁבִ֣י עַל־עָפָ֗ר בְּתוּלַת֙ בַּת־בָּבֶ֔ל שְׁבִי לָ־אָ֥רֶץ אֵין־כִּסֵּ֖א בַּת־כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים כִּ֣י לֹ֤א תוֹסִ֨יפִי֙ יִקְרְאוּ לָ֔־ךְ רַכָּ֖ה וַעֲנֻגָּֽה׃

Κατάβηθι, κάθισον ἐπὶ γῆν, παρθένος θυγάτηρ Βαβυλῶνος· κάθισον εἰς τὴν γῆν, θυγάτηρ Χαλδαίων, ὅτι οὐκέτι προστεθήσῃ κληθῆναι ἁπαλὴ καὶ τρυφερά.

καὶ εἶπας Εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἔσομαι ἄρχουσα. οὐκ ἐνόησας ταῦτα ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ σου, οὐδὲ ἐμνήσθης τὰ ἔσχατα.

Νῦν δὲ ἄκουε ταῦτα, τρυφερά, ἡ καθημένη, ἡ πεποιθυῖα, ἡ λέγουσα ἐν καρδίᾳ αὐτῆς Ἐγώ εἰμι, καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἑτέρα, οὐ καθιῶ χήρα οὐδὲ γνώσομαι ὀρφανείαν.

νῦν δὲ ἥξει ἐξέφνης ἐπὶ σὲ ἐν τῇ φαρμακίᾳ σου, ἐν τῇ ἰσχύι τῶν ἐπαοιδῶν σου σφόδρα,

Vénient tibi duo hæc súbito in die una, sterílitas et vidúitas: univérsa venérunt super te, propter multitúdinem maleficiórum tuórum, et propter durítiam incantatórum tuórum veheméntem.

But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

τῇ ἐλπίδι τῆς πονηρίας σου. σὺ γὰρ εἶπας Ἐγώ εἰμι, καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἑτέρα· γνῶθι, ἡ σύνεσις τούτων ἔσται καὶ ἡ πορνία σου σοὶ αἰσχύνη· καὶ εἶπας τῇ καρδίᾳ σου Ἐγώ εἰμι, καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἑτέρα.

Et fidúciam habuísti in malítia tua, et dixísti: Non est qui vídeat me: sapiéntia tua et sciéntia tua hæc decépit te. Et dixísti in corde tuo: Ego sum, et præter me non est áltera.

στῆθι νῦν ἐν ταῖς ἐπαοιδαῖς σου καὶ τῇ πολλῇ φαρμακίᾳ σου, ἃ ἐμάνθανες ἐκ νεότητός σου, εἰ δυνήσει ὠφεληθῆναι.

Sta cum incantatóribus tuis, et cum multitúdine maleficiórum tuórum, in quibus laborásti ab adolescéntia tua, si forte quid prosit tibi, aut si possis fíeri fórtior.

κεκοπίακας ἐν ταῖς βουλαῖς σου· στήτωσαν καὶ σωσάτωσάν σε οἱ ἀστρολόγοι τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, οἱ ὁρῶντες τοὺς ἀστέρας ἀναγγειλάτωσάν σοι τί μέλλει ἐπὶ σὲ ἔρχεσθαι.

ἰδοὺ πάντες ὡς φρύγανα ἐπὶ πυρὶ κατακαυθήσονται, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐξέλωνται τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτῶν ἐκ φλογός· ὅτι ἔχεις ἄνθρακας πυρός, κάθισαι ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς.

Ecce facti sunt quasi stípula, ignis combússit eos: non liberábunt ánimam suam de manu flammæ: non sunt prunæ, quibus calefíant, nec focus, ut sédeant ad eum.

οὗτοι ἔσονταί σοι βοήθεια· ἐκοπίασας ἐν τῇ μεταβολῇ ἐκ νεότητος, ἄνθρωπος καθ᾽ ἑαυτὸν ἐπλανήθη· σοὶ δὲ οὐκ ἔσται σωτηρία.

Sic facta sunt tibi in quibuscúmque laboráveras: negotiatóres tui ab adolescéntia tua, unusquísque in via sua erravérunt: non est qui salvet te.
